I have Mars (Yogakaraka) in 8th House (Cancer Asc) with Rahu. How will Rahu behave as it sits in the house of Saturn but with Yogakaraka Mars. Generally I have felt both positive and negative effects during antardasa or pratyantardasa of Rahu specially related to matter of 5th House (Love). Although 7th Lord is aspecting the 5th House. How do we see success in Love Affair/Love Marriage in this case?

Want to comment about the statement "motivated to face challenges".
It is instructive to note that :
(1) Two of the best possible yogakaras one can have is 9th with 10th or 4th with 5th. This is according to the recent classics unearthed by Saptarishis. Although 9th with 10th in many ways it is hard to achieve the yogakaraka status because each bhava of this pair the natural rulership is by planets from different camps ie. Jupiter for 9th and Saturn for 10th. Also only Saturn can possibly rule 9th and 10th together or 4th and 5th together.
(2) When 9th and 10th lord Saturn goes to the 1st, it means the person achieves the highest karma and dharma as his general lot of life. The person is very fortunate. 9th is the 9th of the 1st and 10th is the 10th of the 1st.
When 4th and 5th lord Saturn goes to the 8th, it means the person comes up top in challenges. This is because 4th is the 9th of the 8th and 5th is the 10th of the 8th. It is actually dharma and karma for challenges respectively. Note this concept is especially revealing if we look at natural rulerships of the 4th and 5th which is the Moon and Sun respectively. Not only when Cancer or Leo on the 8th turns Moon and Sun as functionally neutral respectively, but generally Moon and Sun can handle the forces of the 8th quite well if they are situated there. This is because the natural rulership of 8th is Mars. The person not only is motivated to the challenges, but can overcome the challenges.
Note that here we are looking from the natural rulerships point of view. If you look at from the functional rulerships point of view and also without combining the 4th and 5th lordships together to form a Yogakaraka of Saturn, 4th lord going to the 8th or 5th lord going to the 8th is actually quite bad (from BPHS).
Incidentally, Saturn is at its best in the 8th out of all the dusthanas.
Best Regards

Venus is generally well placed in the 8th. The person can be expected to experience the greatest "highs" in life granting him all that he wish for.
Generally Venus seems to be the only planet that escapes all the prognostications for the other planets in relation to Dusthanas - it is fortunate to have Venus in the 6th and 12th and in the 8th good effects as mentioned above.
The Yogakaraka (YK) status of Venus is thus somewhat immaterial in the evaluation of its placement of the 8th. Venus does not make a strong YK anyway because being a ruler of kendra, it somewhat detracts the full benefits of it being a YK, notwithstanding it is ruling a trine at the same time.
If Venus is placed in the 4th and is at the same time a YK, then the full benefits of Venus being a YK may be reaped.

Hi Khoo͵
“ Incidentally, Saturn is at its best

dusthanas.“
Is Saturn in 8th still better than in 6th despite it being an upachaya? Or is it like͵ Sat in 6th can give a lot of health issues͵ hence not so good? Also does “Karako Bhava nasaya“ principle apply for Saturn in 8th?

I also have Saturn in 6th it's retrograde in scorpio. I have not had any major health issues, never been to hospital, and suffered no injury or illness besides common basic colds that everyone gets, but even then I only get maybe 1x per year for only 3 days or so. And sometimes seasonal allergies, but nothing too bad. ... infact they have gotten much better recently since I've entered saturn MD in 2012.
Saturn is aspected by mars only from 11th (mars in aries. Gemini lagna)
I have a family member with saturn in 8th in Gemini and they have been healthy aswell, no disease or anything I can think of.

I have Saturn in 8H and also my yogakaraka Venus in 8H alongwith mercury....(Capricorn lagna).
I guess the planets don't ever give results in isolation....its always a sum total of all the planets and their relative placements to each other alongwith dasha and transit (of Saturn/Jupiter/nodes) which impact the overall results...and then there is always the freewill

yogakaraka in 8th house
its effects depend on the sign lords they represent and the sign it placed in
and the star they occupy and their strength in other divisional chart

Usually a planet in house no. 3,6,9,12 is considered weak.
8th house cannot be considered a weak house.
A planet in the 8th serves to motivate a native to face challanges.
Revribhav,
Then according to you, 8 of my planets are badly placed.
