Though it is considered that Jupiter has entered its uucha house. For a short while Rahu and Vakri Sani are without any shubha dristi. How will it effect ?
Loss of jupiter, s protection to rahu and vakri sani ?

Hi Namitha,
That's a good point you have made, but when I think of it, I wonder if Jupiter ever gave any protection by its aspect on Saturn-Rahu. I think not. Jupiter's aspect on that malefic combination in Libra hardly made much difference as they did the damage they had to do for many people.

--and on 14th july Mars will come back to Libra forming shani-mangal malefic conjunction in cosmos...and unchecked since no benefic is aspecting this.

I am having different view on this subject. Though we all look for house placements while considering aspects, for example[5th, 7th & 9th houses in case of Jupiter). When can we expect Jupiter to show its effects in Cancer? I mean will the effect of it start right away, or will it take some time to settle down in that sign before showing its effects? And does Jupiter give strong effects in transit like Saturn or Rahu? I have asked a few people, and they said things are same for them in spite of the transit of Jupiter.

Dear Basab,
in your chart for example 2,4,6,10 houses are impacted most and there are two factors to bear in mind when determining the fructification of transits:
1) MEP. Your lagna is about 23deg in Libra and that is the Most effective posin in the chart.
so when Jup is closer to the MEP ( +/- 5 deg) is when it's impact will fructify
2) the yogas formed in transit....for example if your Moon was at 10deg in cancer then the gaj-kesari yoga formed with transitiory Jup would be strongest when Jup is between 5 deg to 15deg.
you Moon is actually at 22deg so it's close to MEP and that 10 deg above for just an example.
in your spe chart the transit of Jup will bring monetary and career gains
--I have see that Jup gives it's gifts suddenly in discrete big shots when in transit
while shani/ rahu gives their misery/ gains slowly increasing their intensity when close to MEP...but their effect is throughout.

Yes at some angle it does appear as if Jupiters aspect did little good.

Usualy when planets like Jupiter moves we do see sudden changed but this time nothing significant Why is it so. ? ( already mentioned by Basab)

Transits have different effects on individual charts
The specific effects consequent to change in sign are started in those individuals who have Jupiter being karaka and ascendent/moon/jupiter (whichever one is stronger)occupies first quarter of a sign in natal charts (subject to other things also).

I have Jupiter ascendent, in 2nd house Aquarius Lagna and Jupiter Mahadasha.
So far, since Jan 2011, Jupiter hasn't been good to me (maybe because of Saturn and/or other transits).
Will this Jupiter transit show any visible and quick positives in my chart (especially with regards to my career)?

Thank you for predicting how the transit of Jupiter is going to be for me. Hope it goes good as you have said, though I sometimes feel that transits don’t have much effect in a person’s life as dasha has.
The MEP concept that you have shared is very interesting and also the nature of results given by Saturn and Rahu and Jupiter in transit. Right now Saturn is transiting at 23 degrees, which is my lagna degree and aspecting my Moon very closely, which is at 22 degrees. I am not sure what the effect of that is supposed to be. Should it make me detached or stressed? I feel some change in my personality since some days, but not sure if it is the effect of Saturn or Jupiter transit.
I had always felt that Saturn gives the maximum results, then Rahu and then Jupiter, but I have not studied the effects of transits that much, so I am not sure. Maybe, as you have said, Rahu gives more strong effect than Saturn.

Namita͵ its not that “nothing significant has happened“ -On June 20th my all-important cellphone fell down while charging and got broken͵ just when I could ill afford such expenses. It has fallen from high places at times in the past͵ including on June 19th͵ yet nothing happened then. True to the trend in this forum I attribute it to a transit effect of Jupiter leaving retrograde Mercury in Gemini.

I don't mean to come between your conversation with Basab, but I just wanted to add something to your post. I can recall when last time my jupiter( 2L & 5L) transited my 9th house in 2002 I had a sudden monetary gain. Although I was running a malefic Rahu antra dasa I was still earning a lot at my job and able to pay off a huge amount of debt( personal loans, car loans) and still have a lot of savings/ bank balance. I would like to see similar results again after 12 years.
In addition to monetary gain, I also got heavily involved in spirituality and learning the scriptures!

I keep saying this the so-called Rahu 'major periods' - Antardasha and especially Mahadasha need not be always malefic. Actually, what I find is the major Rahu periods have given substantial benefics to many if not all!
I would rank the ones who tend to give immediate effect as: 1) Moon 2) Ketu 3) Saturn 4) Rahu 5) Venus 6) Mercury 7) Mars
Jupiter 9) Sun.
So, I am NOT expecting any immediate or visible change with the present Jupiter transit (despite passing through Jupiter MD). And I don't think that it will have any impact on most people either.

It is quite incredible, your doing so good during Jupiter transit in Cancer in 2002 when the dasha was not good at that time. I think this is one of those rare occasions when a transit has overridden the effects of a dasha and in fact overridden the effect of the transit of Saturn as well. Saturn at that time was transiting the 8th from your ascendant and the 4th from your Moon, which is a very difficult transit of Saturn. So it is quite fantastic that Jupiter gave you so much positive results, in spite of the sub-period of Rahu, and the transit of Saturn not supporting at all; instead, they being negative. It sometimes makes me wonder whether astrology works at all, or we are just somehow making it make sense.

What is the reason for bad results of jupiter transits for me. Be it 5th, 6th, 7th and now 8th. Results are consistently bad.

While it's true that Rahu is a malefic for my lagna and especially since it's in 12th house, so even i am really suprised how I gained so much financially during that dasa?

After seeing these comments I can not stop myself from writing.
I have quite similar combination as Lilly has (I guess, she might be born around 77), I also have Rahu in 12th, and my 2 and 5 lord is Jupiter. When I had this transit in around 2002-2003 I moved out of country for a long overseas stay. Second, monetarily, I started earning much more than what I was earning in India. Much happier. But at the same time as I was running Rahu MD (just started in 2001 and was running Rahu-Rahu) Saturn was in 8th in transit. I am sure Lilly must have something unorthodoxly happening in the relationship, sex life and sudden changes. And again, now in June, though things have changed very much, they are carrying more or less similar colours. I am more self-aware, more pragmatic, more spiritual, less agitated and compassionate, however, sex life is like a big desert.

Yes, Rahu is not favourable, and on top of that Saturn was transiting negatively, and still Jupiter gave good results!! It is very surprising, to say the least. I wonder sometimes how planets work. God knows best. By the way, how are things going with you this time? Are things turning good, since Jupiter transited to Cancer?
