"Important verses Quoted from Three hundred important combinations"

Yoga Definition:Moon in the 12th,8th or 6th house from Jupiter.

Results:The native loses fortune and may regain it. He will be ordinary and insignificant. He will suffer from poverty, privation and misery.

Discussion: He will be stubborn and hated by relatives. In the large number of horoscopes examined me I have been able'to mark that Sakata yoga has not really made the natives poor and wretched but often the degree of poverty and wretchedness has been nominal. There is a sloka from Sukranadi which states "Sakatayogajatasya Yogobhangam padepade".The periods of misfortune will accord with the times of transits in malefic Rasis, viz., 6th, 8th and l2th. In other words, every time the Moon transits the 6th, 8th and l2th from the radical Jupiter, the effects of Sakata are realised

Ann,

This Arises when moon is in the 6th 8th or 12th. If you have Moon 4th from jupiter, you don't have this.

Hello Athreya - Does moon have to be in 6th, 8th or 12th bhava (which varies according to cusps) or sign from Jupiter coz I seem to be having it?

Huien1,
I go by Rasi or signs only and i translate house as sign/Rashi only. for example Jupiter in 3rd house and moon in 8th House is sakata yoga. There is a view that if the moon is in Kendras (1,4,7,10) this yoga gets cancelled. My Personal experience is you will still feel the impact of Sakata Yoga during the Jupiter-Moon period.

Going my rasi, my moon is in 6th with Jup in 11th debilitated. You say impact won't be there in MOON-Jup only the reverse?

Counted from Jupiter your moon occuipes the 8th house (6th from ASC as you said). Then This would count as Sakata Yoga. Of course the influence of this in your chart will be based on the total chart, but yes you do have Sakata Yoga. From what you have said, Your lagna is Pisces and the Lagna lord is debilitated in the 11th (Capricorn) and moon in Leo! is that correct?

Correct, Jup is my lagna lord and moon my 5th lord so I would least expect challenges in Jup-moon.

huien1,

Interesting Chart!

(A)That moon is in a very lets say "Wicked position". Lord of the 5th house in the 6th House. Doesn't have Planets on each side. That technically is Kemadruma too.But The Kemadruma is cancelled " because you have Saturn and Mars in angles from the moon" and there is a strong venus in Lagna Kendra.

(B)Jupiter although debilitated has a neecha Bhanga as the planet who gets exalted in Capricorn (mars) is in angle with moon and so is the Lord of that house! Lagna Lord in 11th is not bad either!

(C)Your horoscope has good Grahamalika (Damini) Yoga and Malavya yoga as well. Saravali actually "Glorifies" Damini yoga. So don't get too worried!

(D)The Strength of your Malavya yoga needs to be ascertained because (1) Saturn Aspects Jupiter (Ref: Devakeralam) and (11) Venus is the lord of the third and Eight houses. I would get some experts to answer on this

(E)Can you please tell me whether your (1) Period from Sep-2010 to March 2011 was? (2) Are you a lonely person, I mean who prefers loneliness or A loner at heart?
(F) Interestingly If we apply the concept of Bhavat Bhavam, Your chart looks better!

If you are from chennai or Tamil nadu I would recommend you to go to "thiru inthalur" near Kumbakonam and perform Puja for Moon There. Fast on mondays and pray to Goddess Gauri. Do you have a Family Diety (kul dev/kul devi) Please Perform regular Puja!

Good luck!

Please remember am a novice, so request you to get opinion from Experts here!

I was at US betwn Jun 2010 - Feb 2012. Sep - 2010 to Mar 2011 was career wise average compared to previous years, nothing much happened, made some new friends. I am infact a lonely person but not always. We do perform regular puja to kula deivam.
Saturn is in a tricky position - Retrograde and moves to Libra when different ayanamsa (fagan or dulakara) is used. I think Sun, Mars and Jup (though debilitated well placed in most vargas) are the strengths of my chart .What is Damini yoga?

Huien1,

I would def. Say Sun is placed better. Lord of 6th in 3rd is not bad. Malefics occuping 3,6,10,11 is also not bad. Am not sure about your strength of your Jupiter as the Shadbala is 5.25 Rupas. Currently your running Sun Dasa and Sep 2010 to March 2011 was actually Moon AD. That is why I asked you how that period was.

Kema druma even if cancelled makes the person a bit of a loner.. That was the reason for asking you that Question. I use Chitrapaksha Ayanamsa.

Damini Yoga is 7 planets occupying 6 Rashis.

Hi Athreya - Understand that you were trying to gauge by Moon AD, what did you make out of it coz it was a mixed bag for me - Moon is a trikona lord and it is in suklapaksha placed in friendly sign in rasi also placed in exaltation navamsa. I'll be starting Moon MD from 2016...
IMO naabhasa yogas are found in most of the charts, wouldn't give much significance to it. When did u think I'll get married coz we have been trying to find a suitable match for 1.5 yrs now, Sun-Sat MD-AD gave good carreer progress but is delaying marriage prospects.

Hi Athreya - Male. Actually when I was talking about strengths, I was not talking about absolute strength (shadbala) but planets which could do potential good to me. Do you practice astrology or a learner like me:)

Dear Athreya,

From your discussion, you have to note that Moon goes around zodiac in one month. That means, roughly 3 days a month Moon transits 6, 8 and 12 of natal Jupiter. If effects of Sakata Yoga are realized each time, the native would indeed be poor.

It is unclear if this transit effect had any serious impact to change the observation that Sakata yoga isn't really causing poverty and misery.

I wouldn't call Swami Vivekananda really ordinary and insignificant. (based on data in JHora).
Also, having Jupiter in 6th and 8th from Moon is a part of Adhi Yoga. Sakata and Adhi yogas have to be balanced properly since one is described to give negative effect and other, a positive effect. See Bill Gates case, for example.

Dear huien1,

There is Vargottama exalted Venus in Rasi and Navamsa lagna conjunct within a degree of ascendant. You ignore that Venus!

Anyway, if you are wondering about Saturn situation in your case, consider your ability to speak in public, in front of your mother and home, and with your business partners. Can you make good speeches and presentations? If you do, your Saturn is in 9th, but if you had trouble with it, (despite your strong Sun and Venus), then your Saturn is in 8th house.

Mercury under the influence of Saturn is usually tongue-tied in my observation.

Dear Violet,

Please note that I have stated in my post that I have Quoted key words from Three hundred different combinations, and I was opening up the thread for discussion :). Please note am a novice when Compared to all here and therefore Quoting something from a text and asking for opinions.

Personally I have my Jupiter-Moon in 6-8 combination with Moon in 10H from ascendant. Personally I feel even if they Say Sakata Yoga is cancelled, The mental stress during a Jupiter MD - Moon AD was very high. I can also tell you that when Jupiter was in 6th and 8th house from moon (Gochara), I had Delays. Of course this could have been because of the gochara position of Jupiter in 6th and 8th itself.

Here is my details, 02/09/1983, Gudalur (76 deg 30 min, 11 deg 30 min). Time is a bit dodgy (8:45+ or-10 min)

Am here for learning and please correct me if am wrong!

Dear Athreya,

Sorry that I misunderstood that the discussion is yours. In any case, there is a difference between Jupiter transiting in 6th and 8th from natal Moon, and Moon transiting over 6th and 8th from natal Jupiter.
Hope you note the difference that Jupiter takes 12 years to go over every zodiac and Moon only takes 28 days. Transiting Moon will go faster than transiting Jupiter.

I have Sakata Yoga too in combination with Kemadruma Yoga. My Sakata is with Jupiter in lagna. I had Moon-Jupiter stressful too. But you have decide if Jupiter is good or bad overall in the chart. Every Jupiter AD in my case wasn't any good. So, I can't blame just Moon-Jupiter when Jupiter is giving me mixed results in every period.

In your own chart, Mars looks at 8th from Moon and Rahu looks at 6th from Moon. Should we really blame 6th/8th from Moon instead of Jup being in direct line of sight from two strong malefics for Virgo lagna? :)

Violet

Violet,
Thanks for your reply.

Regarding my chart, Mars aspects the 5th house from moon (2nd from Asc), 8th house (5th from Asc) and 9th house (6th from moon) and Rahu aspects the 3rd house (6th house from moon). Yes so 6th house and 8th house both have Malefic aspects.

Yes my Jupiter, is let us say completely engulfed by Malefics and he is not good to my chart either (as lord of the 4th and 7th house). He is with ketu, aspected by Saturn (lord of 5th and 6th ) and by Rahu (from 9th). But for all this Jupiter MD has been Kind to me professionally, at every stage I have received accolades, Well known among my peers and all that. But he has made my married life a mess (Venus in the 12th with a Sun doesnt help either yaa). I wont Say am rich, but I am not a Pauper either. In fact For all the responsibilities I had, Money had come to full fill them. I can say I have a professional foundation to improve my Bank balance now lol :)

I can say the same about Rahu dasa as well, I never opened my books after school, Stood within top 3, aced every literary, Quiz and Speech competitions in my State. My dad used to say that things changed better for him after I was born. Inspite of all this My Rahu-Moon was the dullest and the most challenging (Came at the wrong time too). Mutiple times Typhoid, even during my board exams and key entrance exams! So please forgive me when I am scared of Moon AD.

Moon AD will give me fame , foreign travel in professional life but will take away exactly what i wanted, Will screw my professional life. That is what I have learned.

You have any predictions for me. Once a famous astrologer told my sister that I have too many bad yogas in my chart (he listed KSY, Guru Chandal and sakata yoga). I Dont know!

---------------------------------------------------
Yes Violet , I know the difference between moon and Jupiter transit. I meant jupiter transit only whenever I had jupiter in 6th or 8th from my moon I basically know I have to put that extra mile.

--------------------------------------------------------

Dear Huien1,

My apologies for starting in ur chart and ending in mine. I will come with my NOVICE predictions very soon!. But remember this is a Novice here and take my predictions with a ton of salt.

Hello Athreya - No problems, I am a novice myself and should be able to recognize one (lol:). Talking of my communication skills, I do good at work presentations and speeches and infact got lot of presentation opportunities in Su-Sa dasa. If Sa is in 8th then it is a VRY. Only problem is that I'm a straight shooter getting into trouble with frank observations without showing much empathy. I am improving on that as well for past couple of years, may be Sun dasa effects. And, don't forget Me is conjunct Rahu creating a bahu vidya yoga which is supposed to provide multi-talents and I indeed grasp things quickly. Also, the conjunction takes place in 2nd house of speech. Jhora shows that I have Adhi yoga too having Ju and Ve in 6th and 8th from Moon without malefic aspects or conjunction.
You are right about Venus being very strong but I'm past my Venus dasa and Ve is not bound to do much good for Pisces lagna. Not sure when I will notice the luxuries associated with Malavya yoga.

Huein1,

happy birthday!

For some reason i seem to get Aries Lagna, I need to check! Your birthdate is 27-5-1985, 03:45 AM correct? Pl. confirm.

With regards to Malavya Yoga, Deva Keralam says if Saturn aspects Jupiter, there is a bhanga for Malavya Yoga.

Thanks,
Athreya.

Huein1,

(1) No doubt your venus dasa was not great! The Malavya yoga because of an exalted venus is sullied by the saturn aspect on Jupiter. Venus for Pisces ascendant is the lord of the 3rd and 8th houses. So i wouldnt expect him to do a great deal.

(2) I like the position of Sun in your horoscope, lord of 6th to be in the third is not bad, which is why Sun's period has been good. he is also exalted in the Navamsa.

(3) Mercury the lord of the 4th and 7th is a pure malefic for a pisces ascendant, he along with Rahu in the 2nd house may be the reason why your financial matters are not as great as aspected.

having said that a descent jupiter (albeit debilitated), venus the planet for Marriage aspecting the 7th house should give you marriage. My guess there should be marriage chance during Sun-venus (mid next year to mid 2016)

Dear huien1,

Just because Venus dasa is done doesn't mean Venus will stop influencing your life. Venus lords Sun. Next, Moon dasa is with Moon in Ketu nakshatra and Sun rasi. Again, Venus lords Ketu and Sun. Mars is again in Venus house. These subtle effects due to disposition are the reason we have to look at the chart as a whole.

I am sure you have seen before that mahapurusha yoga won't show results without a strong Sun and Moon in Rasi.

Happy Birthday!

Thank you Athreya and Violet for the birthday wishes and observations.

Athreya - Don't think Me is a that malefic for Pisces, Ve and Sa are more malefic. Expecting Moon dasa to match or better Sun dasa since it a trikona lord placed in friendly sign and exaltation navamsa with weak Adhi yoga:)

Violet- I concur that we should look the chart as a whole and relationships between planets are very important. Actually Ve dasa was not bad for me, gave frequent minor health problems but good education though family background was average. I think my Sun is strong and Moon is not as strong as Sun but not bad, so I should be realizing Malavya yoga effects - right?, though Ju is deb. Not sure of the planet culprit delaying my marriage, may be the strong Ve herself:)

Hi Violet,

It is interesting that Jupiter though exalted in your ascendant has not given good results in its periods because of its being in the 8th from the Moon, causing Sakata yoga. Otherwise, exalted 9th lord in lagna is supposed to give very good results. My uncle has exalted Jupiter in ascendant, and in his Jupiter AD, his life turned around completely, for the better, though it is true, in his case it is not forming Sakata yoga.
