Daridra Yogas

When the lords of the lagna, the 2nd and the 11th house are combined with or aspected by malefic planets or have connection with the trikabhavas or their lords then one experiences acute shortage of funds, loss of wealth and incurrence of debts.

If the 2nd house from the lagna is occupied by a malefic and the lord of the 2nd house is combined with or aspected by malefic one speaks rudely and earns livelihood with much difficulty.

If the 2nd house is occupied by malefic, the lord of the 2nd house is devoid of strength and the lord of the lagna is in a trikabhava conjoined with malefic one leads a life devoid of comforts.

The lord of the 11th house relegated to the 3rd, the 6th, the 8th or the 12th indicates loss of wealth and poverty.

The lord of the 11th or the 12th occupying the 8th house uninfluenced by benefics indicates poverty.

If the lord of the 4th or the 9th house or both combine with the lord of the 8th in any bhava and the lord of the 2nd house is debilitated, if the lord of the lagna is debilitated and the lagna and the 2nd house are occupied by malefic, if the lord of the lagna is in the 6th house and the lords of the 2nd, the 6th or the 8th are natural malefics, if the 2nd house is heavily afflicted and is not aspected by any benefic or if the lords of the 9th and the 10th occupy the 8th house either conjoined with or aspected by the lord of the 8th in all such cases one suffers the pangs of poverty.

If the lords of the lagna and the 12th or the lords of the lagna and the 6th are in mutual exchange of signs and aspected by either the 2nd or the 7th house lord, if Ketu is in the lagna or with the Moon and the lord of the lagna is in the 8th house aspected by a maraka, if the lord of the lagna owns a trikabhava and is aspected by malefic or conjoined with Saturn and is devoid of benefic associations, if the lagna is occupied by a malefic aspected by a maraka or a maraka combined with a malefic occupies the lagna, if the lords of the trikabhavas occupy their own bhavas afflicted by a cruel planet, if the planet associating with a trikalord is not aspected by the lord of the lagna, the 5th or the 9th, or if the Atmakaraka or the lord of the lagna aspect the Atmakaraka then one remains or becomes poor.

If the 2nd house is occupied by a malefic and malefics also tenant the kendrasthanas or if Mars is in the 8th house and the Sun is in Libra sign in a trikonabhava then one becomes poor.

if the lagna and its karaka is afflicted by malefics and its lord occupies a trikasthana the person leads an ordinary life, is very poor and insulted by others, if the 2nd house and its karaka is afflicted by malefics and its lord occupies a trikasthana one does not possess anything and remains poor, and his wealth if any is taken away by his enemies, if the 4th house and its karaka is afflicted by malefics and its lord occupies a trikasthana one leads a life devoid of happiness and old age is troublesome, and if the 9th house and its karaka is afflicted by malefics and its lord occupies a trikasthana the one is sloven and sad and the property that is inherited is destroyed.

Qualifications on the above -

1) Daridra Yoga may not be fruitful throughout life, but only during certain periods of Mahadasha combination or transits.

2) Malefics in Lagna do not necessarily give poverty - if they are placed in own or friendly signs.

3) Malefics in 6th house usually give good results.

4) Malefics in 6th, 8th and 12th can cut down on expenses and can give good results if in inimical sign.

5) 12th house significations can be reduced to a large extent by staying abroad or away from home and by frequent travel.

6) Sometimes Daridra Yoga works in an unexpected manner, especially when there is another good Yoga present in the chart. For example, a person may not have any source of income and may be dependent on family, but may enjoy a good life by staying with family.

Sanyasa Yogas

The first of the Parivraja-yogas, through which elevation through mental and sensual detachment can occur, are as follows:

-The lord of the Moon sign is aspected by Saturn and no other planet
-The Moon occupies a Navamsa of Mars and is aspected by Saturn or occupies a drekkana of Mars and is aspected by Mars and Saturn. Note that the aspect of Saturn in these instances can be viewed in the Rasi chart, as well as in the Navamsa and Drekkana charts.
-The Moon and Saturn conjoin, and either occupy or aspect (by rasi drsti) the Arudha Lagna. Note that this applies in the Rasi, Navamsa, Drekkana and Vimsamsa charts as well.
-If all the planets aspect the Moon by Rasi or Graha Drsti, then the native is a famous sanyasi.
-If Jupiter is in the 9th house, and the Moon, Jupiter and the Ascendant are all influenced by Saturn, then the native renounces worldly pleasures.
-As a variable of the above yogas, it is often found that the Moon is in a Rasi or Navamsa of Saturn and has Parivartana-yoga (mutual exchange) with Saturn.
-Further, if the lord of the Moon sign happens to be Saturn itself, then if Saturn’s dispositor is aspected by or has a sambandha with Saturn, then Parivraja-yoga applies.
-Parivraja-yoga is formed if the lagna is at the end of a sign with a benefic in it, and if Jupiter is in a kendra or trikona.
Finally, if the lord of the 10th house joins four other planets in a kendra, then the native not only renounces the world, but also attains moksa at the conclusion of this lifetime.

Tapasavi Yoga

-Venus, Saturn and Ketu all mutually aspect, and preferably aspect the lagna as well. These can be present in the Rasi chart as well as the Navamsa chart, the Drekkana chart and the Vimsamsa chart;
Venus, Saturn and Ketu are also in mutual trikonas in Tapasavi-yoga.
For Tapasavi-yoga, the following additional considerations may also be born in mind:

-If the yoga forms in both the Rasi and Navamsa charts, it is all the more powerful;
-If the Atmakaraka, the Sun or the lord of Lagna are involved in both Rasi and Navamsa charts, then much greater significance added to the assessment of spiritual strength through the tapas of the native;
-If the Arudha Lagna or the Moon are involved in the yoga, then the native becomes very famous for spiritual renunciation and austerity; and
-See which houses of the chart Venus falls in, how strong Venus is and whether there is a conjunction of Venus with Rahu or Ketu. The former suggests that the native deviates from vows of renunciation, whereas the latter indicates that the native’s renunciation is complete.

Other Yogas for Tapasya

-Saturn alone aspecting the lagna or its lord leads to renunciation.
-Malefics in the 2nd or 8th from UL are inauspicious for happiness in marriage and family life.
-Malefics in the 3rd and 7th from UL indicate little motivation or desire for family life; or UL placed in the 8th house aspected by malefics brings disillusionment with household life and worldly happiness.
-A strong Saturn aspecting or conjoining A7, and-or Darakaraka produces lack of romantic or sexual happiness, and can lead to ultimate renunciation of marriage and family. This, however, depends on the presence of other strong yogas for the possibility of sadhana and other spiritual practices simultaneously.
-It is important to mention here, that if only Saturn and Ketu influence the Rasi lagna or Navamsa lagna, then the individual is a false sanyasi. That is because the persona or outward dress may suggest renunciation. Yet if Venus, the karaka of sensuality, is not involved, the internal renunciation is lacking, while only external show of renunciation manifests.

-Further, it is sometimes seen that an individual is willing and perform celibacy or other forms of strict renunciation, but then falls away from the path ultimately. Or, it is seen that someone may not be able to observe the strict principles of spiritual renunciation over an extended period of time, yet he has deep respect for those who are able to. Note the circumstances under which both situations may occur.

-In the former situation, it is often found that the lord of the Moon sign or other important yogakaraka is combust or weak due to being in rasi-sandhi, bhava-sandhi positions or weak avasthas.
-In the latter situation, it may be that more than one planet aspects the lord of the Moon sign. Or, if inspite of the Saturn-Moon-Lagna connection in chart, Venus is too strong or pre-dominating, then the native might incline too much towards sexual or other sensual enjoyment. Still they have regard and respect for those who exhibit true spiritual renunciation.

Four or more planets in a single bhava:

-Four or more planets in strength occupying a single house with Rajayoga present in the horoscope. The type of asceticism depends upon the strongest in the combination.

-Mars produces Sakyas who worshipped Devi, the Goddess of power;

-Mercury produces Jeevikas who worshipped Vishnu, the preserver of the Universe;

-Jupiter makes the person a Bhikshu, a mendicant, professing Samkhya philosophy;

-Moon makes Vriddhas who believe in Supreme God and go around begging alms with a skull like pot;

-Saturn produces Nirgranthas who roam naked like the Nagas;

-Sun makes a person Vanyasana who believe in simple living and high thinking, possessing high intellect and is spiritually developed.

-This is especially so, if the house harboring these planets is a Kendra and one of the planets involved is the lord of the 12th house (Moksa). The strongest of them will denote the type of renunciation as per Parasara.

-Placement in Kendra is important because then they will most likely cause a great influence on the 4th house which will develop the desire for renunciation. If the 4th house is left out of the combination, then the renunciation will be only superficial. Involvement of Saturn as Naisargika Karaka for renunciation is important and the yoga must affect the Moon or the 4th house (mind), otherwise the desire for giving up enjoyment will not occur.

Note - My personal impression is that Rahu in 10th and Venus in 7th will cancel all Sanyasa Yogas. Household life may be delayed in such cases, but not denied. However, this is only my hypothesis and needs to be tested in a number of charts.

I am a Capricorn lagna and my 9th lord mercury is in 8th house with saturn and Venus.
I was told that conjunction of satun -venus and mercury is not too bad in 8th house.

I have Jupiter and Mars in 6th house and mercury is my 6L which is in 8th house.

Do i have Daridra Yoga?
I guess i do have VRY.
I am running my mercury MD (6th Lord) and Ketu AD.

So what will fructify, VRY or Daridra Yoga?

Or will my Daridra Yoga fructify with Mercury-Sun (9L in 8H) dasha?
and VRY in Mercury-Venus Dasha?

If you have a continuous source of income then there is no Daridra Yoga.

I have one question: What about planets who are both lords of wealth houses and negative houses, like for Gemini Lagna mars is 11th + 6th lord. .. Saturn is 8th+ 9th Lord...

I have Mars as 11th (and 6th - as I'm gem lagna) is in it's own sign in the 11th. Does this negate any(or most) negative effects it would cause as being also 6th lord in 11th?
(assume for the sake of the question it's not aspected by anything else, as I'm not asking for a reading of my chart personally. Just about planets ruling "poverty" aswell as "wealth" houses)

Another example could be if for Gem lag saturn+mars mutually aspect. it's a 9+11 combo, but also 6+8 with those.

The first 2 fully applicable for me. As for Moon, it is aspected by all except Guru, though Guru is 12th from Moon.

All planets in 11th give good results. Mars in 11th will give the result of 11th. Even in other houses, Mars will give more the result of the house it is placed in than of its other house of rulership.

You have to see other combinations in chart too - 2nd, 4th and 7th house situations primarily. Your Saturn is exalted in 2nd house of family and Jupiter is in Hansa Yoga in 4th. Mercury doesn't aspect Moon.

I think Me aspects Moon i.e Fixed Sign aspecting Movable Sign.. if we take into account Rasi aspects as per the rule.

What is the source of this? I don't understand why L12 in 8th would lead to Daridra, I thought it was a VRY, and the more malefic the better VRY. (The malefic can harm the 8th at the same time)

You know that Vipareet Raj Yoga leads to success after struggle and loss. Perhaps this rule points to struggle and loss part of it. 11th L in 8th can lead to loss of wealth. 12th L in 8th can lead to loss of property. Success will come later.

No you don't have these Yogas in your chart - a simple way of knowing is whether you got married and whether you have had a continuous source of income.

If you got married, you don't have Sanyasa Yoga. If you have had a continuous source of income, you don't have Daridra Yoga.

Please see the following Parivrajya Yoga rule I have cited above in the Sanyasa Yoga post -

-Further, if the lord of the Moon sign happens to be Saturn itself, then if Saturn’s dispositor is aspected by or has a sambandha with Saturn, then Parivraja-yoga applies.

In your sister's chart, the Moon sign's lord is Saturn and his dispositor Mars is conjunct with Saturn in 8th house. This satisfies the Parivrajy Yoga rule cited above.

This is accentuated by Ketu in 7th, with no other benefic aspect on 7th. Ketu being the natural significator of Sanyasa, is causing problems in marriage and is also taking her mind away from the pleasures of this world. Besides, Mars aspect on 2nd house of family makes this a Mangalik chart as well. Since Mars rules her Lagna, it implies that she herself will drift away from a worldly life.

However, all this is countered by Saturn's friendly aspect on the 2nd house of family - this is the reason she could get married in the first place and her marriage has survived despite all problems.

I don't think she will or should leave the house and renounce the world. Her chart suggests maintaining a householder's life and also remaining detached from it, practising sadhana at the same time. Hence, the decision she has taken is right. She can go forward in this direction, while performing her duties of household.

She is not taking formal SANYASA. She tells she doesn't need formal sanyas to do sadhana. They don't want any children. SHE and her husband HAS A SPIRITUAL GURU abut whom she talks very much. He doesn't have any Mutt or anything. They both will follow instructions from him. And she told wherever she live even with husband , they both will only follow spirituality. Because world is full of sorrow without spirituality.

If your sister doesn't take sannyasa and is living with her husband and doing all the worldly duties of life and along with that keeping her mind detached from the world, what is the problem in it? I am not understanding that at all. And she is right, this world is full of sorrow indeed without spirituality. I also feel the same way. Life will give sorrow to everyone... some will get it in the beginning of life, some in the middle of life, and some in the last years of life. No one can escape the blows of life, ever, though some gets more severe blows from life than others. And it is those who gets severe blows that turn their face from the world, and towards God.

Your sister has 4 planets in one house. It is a combination for spirituality. Saturn, the planet of detachment, with her ascendant lord, Mars, and aspecting the significator of self, Sun, also shows she will be detached in life. Saturn is also aspecting the 5th house of mind and 5th lord, Sun. Moon is in Saturn's sign and is aspected by Mars. It is also a combination for spirituality. So yes, she will be spiritual. That is there in her chart.

Ya you are right orange-man . But she is just 28. And now all her troubles are over . She has money and everything worldly. Then

I can understand what you mean. But if that is what she wants from life, then your mother should try to accept it than try to change her to someone she doesn't want to be. We should not lead our life on the basis of what society is thinking, and I am sure for each and every mother her child's happiness is more important than the happiness of society. If she can't be happy with material life, then why force her to lead that life and make her unhappy, just because society is not approving of it? And she is not doing anything wrong that you will stop her from doing it. This is what I feel about it.

What u say is true.. we r happy that she is not leaving husband But They BOTH ARE LEAVING CITY AND GOING WITH THEIR GURU. That's why panic .. she doesn't care about any routine of bank transaction, career, etc.

Tell your sister and her husband that she does not have to leave her house, nor does she need any guru or guide.

She should stay in the house and practise Sadhana. God will automatically guide her. She will know what she has to do by God's guidance.

Tell her this is what her chart ordains and she will be wise to follow this path of Sadhana by staying at home. She will be her own light.
