What is Kaal Sarpa Yoga?

Dear Friends

There's always a great havoc coz of Kaal Sarpa dosha. Though there's no such mention in classics but somewhere in medieval times, this got entered into hindu astrology.

What is Kaal sarpa dosha?
When all planets & Lagna fall between Rahu & Ketu, this is said to be formed. In a horoscope draw a line on Rahu Ketu (This is called Rahu ketu axis), if allplanets fall on one side on this line, this yoga MAY be present.

I used the term "may" as further it shd satisfy 3 conditions:
1. All planets & lagna must be in between Rahu & Ketu. Even if any one of the planets is out, there's no such yoga.
2. Rahu is considered to be the head of serpant and Ketu is the body, so technicaly for eclipsing all planets they must be eaten by Rahu in clocjkwise direction (Remember Rahu & Ketu always moves in retrogression). So now all planets must be between Rahu & Ketu NOT BETWEEN KETU & RAHU. So 50% of the times planets will be between Ketu & Rahu, thus nullfying this yoga.
3. Lagna represents body. Lagna must be between Rahu & Ketu. Ex: If all planets are between Rahu & Ketu, Rahu being in 8th house & Ketu being in 2nd house even then this yoga is nullified.

TOB: 04:40
POB: Bhiwani (Haryana)

Results of Kaal Sarpa Dosha:
This yoga reduces the intensity of all other rajyoga. Often it is found that after the age of 56, it makes a person to reach amazing heights. The present CM of Haraya Sh BS Hoods is said to have this yoga. After crossing age of 56, he become CM in Haryana just out of nowhere.

For any & every affliction in horoscope, Maha Mrityuanjaya Mantra (To be recited 108 times alongwith its Beej mantra) alone is powerful enough to remove afflictions.

You have well described about kaal sarp dosha here. It is true that when all planets fall between rahu and ketu and most of the planet between rahu and ketu then this type of dosha occur in the native horoscope. Kaal sarp dosha occur in birth chart, take lots of problem in native's life. Best remedy of kaal sarp dosha is worship of Shani dev with oil on saturday. Recite Nav Nag Stotra daily for one year and wear agate stone on good time.

Hi dear,If all the seven planets are situated between Rahu and Ketu then Kaal Sarp Yog is formed. The Kaal Sarp Yog is of two types- Ascending and Descending. If all the seven planets are eaten away by Rahu’s mouth then it is called Ascending Kaal Sarp Yog and If all planets are situated in back of Rahu then it is called Descending Kaal Sarp Yog is formed.If all houses situated between Rahu and Ketu have planets then Kaal Sarp Yog is fully effective. If Sun or Moon is present with Rahu or Ketu then this yoga is more lethal or danger. If Rahu, Sun and Moon are all situated together then Grahan Kaal Sarp Yog is formed.

Hi All
I was just going through the site when i stumbled upon this article on kaala sarapa yoga.

I also have kaala sarpa yoga with Rahu in ascendant and Ketu in 7th, and i know this is annat kaala sarpa yoga...
and i know about the problems in married life etc...what i want to know is can we reduce the effects....and how..?

Also i read somewhere[i mean astrology articels] that Anant Kaala sarpa yoga is only active till 27 years of age...???
is there any truth to the above statement...

I too have it in the 5-11 axis. Its for life. Once a KSY always a KSY!!!

ans will reduce after certain years...or not..???
if that is not the case the why do so many people say this there has to be something to it.

I have not done extensive research in KSY and a few similar puzzles (some more widely documented in available scriptures, others coming to us through the "he said, she said", mode)!

That disclaimer aside, one of the things I note is that the claimants are not approached directly but most criticisms etc (which is not bad, per se!) take place in 'third party' mode in forums etc. This tendency is also observed in the many questions raised about, "why did this astrologer say so and so in my chart?" Often, important or fuller data etc are not provided, although intrepid ones do step-in to second guess and reverse-engineer pronouncements by others.

Neither approach clears up matters significantly, since the questions return periodically on all forums and so on and so forth!

Leaving aside the clockwise vs counterclockwise confusion (or diversity of opinions) that exists, if we think about it, assuming that KSY has its impact, if the lunar nodes are such effective karmic nooses for the seven planets, then perhaps if they round-up even six or five, there must remain some adverse effect on the ones that got surrounded...?

I believe in this Yoga, too. My amateurish observation is that when karakas of mind and intelligence are within this bracket, it makes for a lot of difficulty and strife. Jupiter outside of it, helps to mitigate the negative effects or can give the ability to handle things better. All of the planets in my chart are within this circle.

Kala Sarpa dosha is when every planet including lagna are within the axis of Rah-Ketu.
This gves rise to chronic problem of the houses in which the Rahu-Ketu are situated.
The native endsup his life with that problem.
