I've heard many viewpoints about when it happens and effects of combustion. What do you think is correct.
When it happens:
1. Some say it happens within 8 degrees from Sun
2. Some say it happens within 6 degrees from sun
3.Others say it happens within 3 degrees from Sun
Who is correct?
It's effects:
1.Some say it delays marriage, makes the native find it difficult to attract members of opposite sex, causes sexual impotency.
2.Others say it causes a person to be extravagant and promiscuous, makes a person have a lot love affairs and marriages, makes a person waste a lot of time and money on sex and romance. The best example is Ted Turner- The American media magnate who married thrice and had a very immoral sex life.
Who is correct?

vinda, I underwent a similar issue a couple of weeks ago when I saw a horoscope. the person is already unmarried for 32 years and still searching. I could not find a reason why he was not married at general age.
I could find only two reasons: - venus with in 5 degrees from the sun and surrounded by malefics on both sides.
I generally assume 7 degrees from the sun in case of venus (others may differ). the effects are greater I suppose in case venus is behind the sun.
impotency - I don't know
my opinion is that combustion will not reduce the basic effect of a planet for example sun with Jupiter and the person is a scholar or gyani. Combustion would not let the person's gyaan shine in public. similarly with venus. may be why ted turner could not have a stable married life. not to forget, there are other factors too before making a final statement.
this is how I experienced combustion, though still finding newer things with every new horoscope

I have Venus doubly combust in D1 n D9 (within 1 Deg of Sun )... m a karka lagna..married at the age of 26 n child at the age of 29...though in venus MD..i had affair with so many females...there wasn't a shortage of girls in my life till Venus MD...I dont know how you would deduce that..just for your information sake..
n I agree other factors should also taken into account..
n yea..ppl have predicted that I would have frustration in married life and things would go ok ok with my wife..some have even said that i will have to take a decision in future regarding my wife..so i am puzzled..anyways with all these negative statements..i don't see any negative occurring with me since my marriage happened 5 yrs back..lets see how it goes in future..

sorry forgot to mention that if u r asking me Vinda...in D1 Venus sits in 4th house in Libra Sign..along with Deb Sun...and exalted Saturn, Merc n Jup in Libra...aspected by LL Moon in 10th house

Did you loose a decent amount of wealth or money during Venus MD or any antar dasha of Venus ? Venus also indicates wealth. Even I believe that when Venus is at a higher degree than Sun, the qualities of Venus get brightened. It gets combust only when Venus is at lower degree than Sun.
