Saturn more as karma-karaka than as a functional benefic??

Respected Gurus and senior members of the forum,

There are cases where saturn is highly benefic for ascendants like Libra,capricorn,aquarius and taurus,still gives bad results.Also there are cases we see sade-sathi giving good results eventhough he is expected to give bad results as per transit analysis.
My observation on this,If we look at Chara-atmakaraka in Navamsa,his status of whether got debiliated or exalted gives a clue for nature of the soul.Most of the cases I have seen if the Chara-atmakaraka is associated with malefic house lords or placed in malefic houses in Navamsa we can say the soul's journey is more towards materialistic pursuits and in the process if lacks moral behaviour saturn punishes.On the other way,If Chara-atmakaraka is exalted or well placed with benefics the results of saturn in his sade-sathi/Mahadasha are good.This is my observation and may not be true all the times there could be other factors which are really key factors for his behaviour,I request all the senior members of the forum to comment on this.Thanks in advance.

how will this sadesati go for me?..
My ak is mercury and he is in gemini with venus and saturn in navmasa and ascendent in navmasa is leo...

Exalted marsji,
As per my analysis,Mercury is well placed in his own house in navamsa,conjunct with sat-venus his friends but this is 11th house.So if you observe the lordships all are lords of artha-trikonas and kama-trikonas showing success at career and finance.We can say this chart is more towards materialistic pursuits just as per the details given if you provide birth details I can assure it based on remaining planetary placements.
You can have troubles or hurdles wrt your goals in career,meanwhile his karma-karaka nature can drive you towards spirituality.
Without going into much details,Lord Vishnu worship is recommended.Recite Vishnu sahasranama stotram daily.

Further to say,Chara-Atmakaraka association with jupiter and ketu or moksha trikona lords in Navamsa will change the soul nature and directs towards spirituality.Similarly also can be seen his placement in d-60,which is given more importance than navamsa by sage parashara in giving the final results of the chart.I request all the senior members to give their opinions on this.

Interesting thread ..I am Cap Asc with Saturn as Func benefic.I already ran saturn MD in my life and it was good..Saturn AD later on were also reasonably good..Saturn in 9th from the Asc in natal chart and in own sign Cap in d-9

I have similar combination. In D1 LL Shani is placed in 9th house but debiliated in D9 lagna. Along with Guru & venus in Aries lagna. Moon aspect from 7th house so all benefic aspects for shani in D9. Attaining Neecha banga also.

I am curious to know about my Shani MD starting next in 2018.
