Hi

I have a Rahu and Moon conjunction in my 9th house, and my daughter has the samme conjunction in her 1st house.

I read somewhere that this conjunction makes you very angry, and is often "inherited" from a parent. I don't think i'm an angry person, and everyone says i'm very chilled out, although on the rare occasion i do get angry it is quite an uncontrollable beast!

Can anyone tell me more about this conjunction?

Thanks

 yes...this is true that this yoga is inherited from parents...(i have this yoga too and lolz..in 9th house also... 8) )...they say it makes the person hot headed this is due to malific aspect of rahu on 1st house...,as 1st house represents head..,rahu moon's tight conjuction give a wandering mind..always upto something...but if a balanciing banific aspect is there on ascendent they this effect of quick anger get nutralized....also rahu moon in 9th show extreme travel in life if lord is well disposed...
Hope this helped

I have Rahu-Moon in my chart, too, but in my 10th house in Cancer sign. I will not say I am an angry person. I rarely lose my temper. But it is true that my mind keeps wandering all the time. Coming to travelling, it's not true in my case.

Mars,

Yes, we are Rahu-Moon buddies. :) Yes, they are in tight conjunction: Moon is just 4 degrees away from Rahu. About Rahu-Moon in 9th house giving travels, that makes sense, definitely.

Ha ha ha i also have a tight conjuction of around 3 degree difference in 9th house sagittarious...moon is on 14.25 degrees purvaashadha-1 and rahu is on 12.35 mula-4 so moon is above rahu here..they are aspected by 9th lord jupiter from 5th house leo....so expecting many travels in near future...currently going through moon MD...,chance of foreign education is indicated...expecting something like that...:)
What are your conjuction like?..

EM,

4th lord in 9th house, conjunct Rahu does shows foreign travel as you have indicated. It can be a stressful period, but then, overall it should be good, as I am seeing it. Coming to me, Rahu and Moon are together in my 10th house, Cancer. No planet aspects them, and no planet is conjunct with them. They both are sitting in Aslesha nakshatra. I am not running Moon period now. I will get its MD at the age of 42. I got Venus-Moon period when I was in college. There was a lot of tension then for different reasons, but otherwise, it was quite fine. Interestingly, I was told by an astrologer that I would meet many girls in my Moon AD. I found it quite amazing his saying that. The only logic I can think of for his making such a prediction is Moon (other than Venus) signifies women in astrology.

You need to check the degrees of Mo and Rah too.
If Rah's engulfing/moving towards Mo...it's problematic. If Rah's moving away from Mo, it's much better.

Thanks, for the prediction, EM. Yes, I have the same combination as Mahatma Gandhi, but nothing good has happened in respect to my career so far. Let's see, maybe things will improve in the future. Yes, Mercury is 9th and 12th lord, and it is placed in the 9th house, so the nakshatra lord of Moon and Rahu are well placed.

I have Moon/Rahu close conjunction in the 8th. You don't want that.
Key thing is to forget for a moment the house position and just understand what the conjunction with either Rahu or Ketu means. It's signifying that the planet is being eclipsed, or as it is put in Jyotish parlance, it's being swallowed by Rahu or Ketu. Consequently it loses it's natural significations, which in the case of the Moon is the mind as a benefic, a sense of well-being and self-nurturing. Rahu takes over and Rahu is screwy, shadowy, and an impostor. You may well find it difficult to think straight or clearly about things. Also, the house ruled by the Moon will be damaged, maybe not so if the Moon is in its own sign. One Jyotish astrologer told me that Moon/Rahu makes a person ziddi, which not being Indian I don't fully understand, but roughly means stiff, uptight. The acclaimed playwright Harold Pinter had a Moon/Rahu conjunction and he was quite wound up, and noted in his later years for his anger.
As for houses, Rahu is best in Upachaya houses without a doubt.

Hi mars,

Some say that Moon Rahu conjunction in 10th house leads to Raj Yog but in 12th leads to depression, insomnia. But it also disturbs your mother too and you might have differences with your mother, you may belive in doing charitable work , and your mother may be very famous in public, is it TRUE in your case ??

Dear marlin...namaste...,u r right in away and missed some points here..,Rahu moon combo must be judged properly...,if Rahu is higher in degree that moon than Rahu dominate..,same goes for moon...,we all are born with this so as i told in my pervious post...we are Rahu+moon combo buddies..:)
The other thing to note is the aspect on this combo...,if the sign lord aspects them they give good results..,results becomes even better if sign lord is a benific...

Hi Rajath,

Moon is best when in 4th house and Rahu in 4th house has taken oath that it will not cause any troubles in the house until one doesnt wake up. Rahu wakes up when you do any renovation in the toiltes, on your terrace and start accumalating old and faulty electronic items, old coins etc. If it wakes up, it will swallow Moons goodness and one will lose peace of mind of self and mother.
Mercury in 3rd house is not considered good, he can give advice to others but will now be good advisor for self.
However can you tell me other details of planets or your birth and place details to look closer...
Ragav

Since moon stays 2.5 days in one sign (one full cycle of 28~30 days), on an average 10% of populations will have this combination. Apart from Mahatma gandhiji, this combination is found in Sachin Tendulkar's chart also (5th house sag, leo asc). (Moon at higher longitude than rahu)

And in Yuvaraj Singh's chart aslo but with 'True Node' settings.

Thought I would revive this old thread to see if anyone could help judge this placement:

I have rahu-moon in 9th house. Rahu is 23 deg in Purvashada and Moon is smack 0 deg in Mula in 9th house. Sign lord Jupiter is aspecting from the 5th house Leo. There are a big jumble of indications here, but in my bhava chart moon does appear to fall back into 8th house. And it's also in the gandanta.

Anyone have thoughts on this placement? Does the 23 degree separation dampen the negative effects? Jupiter's degree position in Leo is 1 (also gandanta) so does it have a positive aspect onto the moon?

I don't think so my dad or mom got this conjunction - Sun Moon and Rahu in 8th house Aries. I have got it. Sun in Aswini 3 (7.66°) Moon in Bharani 3 (21.31°) Rahu in Bharani 4 (25.73°). Mars in 9th house Kathikai 2 (30.74°). Almost like all 4 in one house. (Female 21.04.85 5.08pm chennai born) Currently going through Rahu Dasa Rahu Bhukthi and Mars Dasa was pathetic roller coaster. God! Now it's like i am detached and going through big transformation. I sometimes don't feel like talking to any or just be socially active. Started fasting for ekadashi and visiting pradosham pooja in Siva temples near by. This Rahu combo with any planet does play with us big time :-).
