learned members..i have once gone through some article which say...that ascendent degrees are very important in predicting results or impact of a planet the more closer he will be to the ascencent degrees the stronger result he will give...
And further they say the maximun degrees of tollerance is 3 degrees on both side of ascendent degrees...like if ascendent degrees is 14.00 degrees the tolerance will be 11 and 17 thus the planets in this degrees will give powerful results in there M.D. And A.D....is this concept true?..,
Can learned members post there suggestion on this topic?..
Regards..

The systems approach school of thought by V. K.Choudhry considers this very important.
They call the ascendant degree as the most effective point (MEP).
Their website has some good information there.

The MEP point is usually the trigger point in transits, a good example is the chart of someone close to me, She had a saturn return, a western idea i think, in the 6th house. But before that it crossed over the mep point triggering the signified lung infection. luckily all is good.

sure, i have a pisces ascendant at 4º, so saturn rules the 12th and 11th houses, and Ketu rules the 9th house of spirituality. My natal saturn is in the 11th house in capricorn, at 3º42' , on the 21st september 2012 saturn was at 4º libra, in my 8th house, aspected by its natal position. transiting ketu was at 4º aspecting the transiting sun at 5º which is also my atmakaraka, transit lord of the 8th was conjunct natal ketu, lord of the 9th.
The keywords here are: Ketu (Moksha) Atmakaraka (Soul) Saturn (mystical people and experiences), 12th lord (saturn) aspecting saturn in exaltation in the 8th house. These are moksha houses, liberation.
This day I will remember forever, it was the day that I had my first real spiritual experience, where I felt as if I looked from my soul, through the mind, through the body. It was what we call enlightenment or nirvana. It was by far the most beautiful experience in my life, beyond all words. It has since changed me for the better in many ways, in a way it also deleted a few things. they say that enlightenment is like cleaning, or a loss of certain things. I can say yes to that.
I am however new to transits, and am as interested as anybody. It seems to be difficult to decipher the language of what is going on, but case study and enthusiasm should educate anyone.

In the drig dasa I am also running though the rasi which has ketu and a retrograde and exalted jupiter. This in the Drig dasa is the dasa (whichever contains Ketu) will bring the native close to moksha. I'm 22, these few experiences and validations will have me learning this till I die.

It so happens that on a further analysis of this day, 21 sep 1012, many planets were exactly over the diurnal points of my jupiter. Indicating a significant life event.
I had no idea of the diurnal points of the grahas but i'm quite convinced.
The diurnal point is the ascendant longitude - graha longitude.
ie
ASC 14º CAN = 104º
saturn 10º GEM = 70º
Jupiter 10º PIS = 340º
DIURNAL POSITION
equation: (ASC - GRAHA)
Saturn:104-70=34º or 4º TAU
Jupiter: 104-(340+360)=596º=236º=26ºLIB
*If the longitude of the graha is larger than the ascendent add 360 to it. Resultant degrees over 360º are simply recurring.
Saturn has a diurnal point at 4º TAU
and 90, 180, and 270 from that point.
ie 4ºLEO, 4ºSCO, 4ºAQU
The same for jupiter etc
Using this method, on an important day, you can see which grahas are over these important points.
the extent to which they are off, is the extent to which your lagna degree is off.
ie
saturn is 2º from a diurnal point on a significant event.
Your lagna is then 2º too much or too little, logically apply this concept, and check it with other important dates to rectify the lagna.
I got this technique from a good book called "Essentials of predictive hindu astrology" by R. Santhanam.
Many thanks to him.
