Respected members,

I have doubts regarding my career path, if there is even one.

Birth details - 9 July 1977, Chennai, 3:32pm

I understand that the placement of the 10th lord in the 8th house of loss causes little gain from career. While I am in healthcare (again, haven't worked since 2010 due to travel and having a baby), my hope is to focus more on writing, whether technical or fiction. I understand that there is free will also, but I wonder if there is any scope for success with writing. (Mercury, lord of the 11th house is in 9, with Saturn...does this somehow negate possibilities?)

Career always seems to take a back seat to family's (mostly healthcare) needs. Is there any hope of financial gain from career?

Many thanks,

Anugeet,

You need to handle career with care as Moon and Sun are weak can give job instabilty and breaks in profession.
I find Venus as your strong planet and others have weakness.
Current time under Mercury MD does not look favorable for job. You can consider learning.

Sujit,

Thanks for the analysis. Does writing as a career show promise (that is the course I hope to join)? I am a physiotherapist, but have had frequent interruptions that make it difficult to sustain interest. When you say Venus is a strong planet, how can I use that to my advantage?

Thanks again,

Anugeet,

Venus is related to medical field so you stick to your main job.

Dear Anugeet.

Indeed, this time looks absolutely right for writing & learning. You are less likely to write on light subjects but more to do with technical subject, or even subjects with an element of macabre.

Now lets come to your question of Mercury with saturn......

Saturn aspects his own house capricorn, the third house of writing. Mercury of course is communication and also aspects capri.
Jupiter, the 5th lord of creativity also aspects capri. Saturn occupies his own house in navamsa, indicating support, rather than obstacles towards writing. finally, rahu in trine to 3rd house , indicates the element of surprise just as much as technical content.

Finally, you are running the MD of moon, which deposits merc and sat and within Moon MD, are running Merc AD. Finally, Moon PD too ! This has writing, learning, communication written all over it !

Around July-23 or thereabouts is the deciding timeframe.

Dear ChandraLanga,

Thank you!!! This explanation makes so much sense. Particularly since I have no desire what so ever to go back to what I was doing, due to the time away from being a physiotherapist, and a greater interest in writing and communication. It's such a big relief!

Good to know that Saturn is a supporting element; I imagined it would be restrictive since it is with mercury, but your explanation helps me greatly!

When you say subjects with an element of the macabre, i assume you still mean technical writing.

The dasha explanation also makes sense as the compulsion to do something different is too strong to ignore this time around.

Thanks very much for taking the time to consider my question in depth! I will write in an update once I enroll and start on my new journey,

Best regards,

Most technical subjects are macabre :)

Good luck and do let us know how you do!
