I have Saturn within the 12th house (within Libra).

I have heard the 12th house is not good, but does having Saturn there make things worse?

Please advise

You need to provide complete details.

Are you in abroad or pursued higher studies abroad? I am just saying assuming other placements are good. Or was there in break in studies? If you are married, then difficulty with children?

Deeps,

What's the astrological logic behind your saying that the person maybe has had break in studies and may have difficulty with children?

Hi Deeps my details are as follows:

Date: 25/04/1984
Time: 23:05
Place: London

You have a good chart. You are destined to earn plenty of wealth. But your success is delayed. Expect success and happiness from 35 years age onwards. You are a believer in truth. And health problems have caused you unhappiness time to time. This current Lord Saturn will make you find a way by 2014.

Welcome to the Saturn return club!

Hi Deeps,

Thanks for the reply.

So I take it that Saturn will have a positive impact on my life. Could you please also elaborate on
"You have a good chart" - are there other positive aspects to my chart?

Dear Deeps,

Don't you find it a bit concerning that Mangal and Shani are debilitated in D9?

In terms of my life experience I must say that I have had to struggle, sometimes even for the basics in life. I would say that I am spiritual and believe in God. If someone could please let me know more about my Saturn in the 12th house it would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Finding a way,

You might want to ask more experienced people on this forum but let me tell you what I know. Overall your chart looks really good, Guru in Saggi, Venus exalted, Sun exalted, Rahu and Ketu exalted, Mangal in Scorpio, basically it looks very promising, but when you have a closer look, you realise that although Lagna is vargottam and so are Venus, Moon and Rahu and Ketu; you lagna lord Mangal is debilitated and so is your dasha lord Saturn.
Debilitation is D9 is final, hence you need to pacify these two planets:
Mangal: a weak lagna lord may not grant you everything promised in your chart
Shani: which is your current dasha lord, is not only placed in the 12th house but is also debilitated in D9.

But your lagna is vargottam, so you may be able to apply the Stabdika dasha system from Lagna more accurately and thus Saturn might not be the one to blame.

These are my two cents, but you might want to confirm this with a more senior member.

According to that Dasha system, you are running your Mangal dasha since 2006 and Shani antardasha since July 2010. Try and use that system to compare your life events, if it fits better.

Dear anxious2711,

Many thanks for your reply.

I am a complete novice at this and just reading things I find around the web (mainly from this site).

Regarding vargottam the only information I found on this is that a planet occupies the same position in the lagna as the navamsa? If this is true and the planets you mentioned below are in a good position in my lagna then is this not true for the navamsa?

Please tell me why my lagna lord Mars is debilitated and the same for Saturn. You also mentioned that I should pacify these two planets - please let me know if you have any remedies.

Regarding Dasha, I believe I am currently in Shani Dasha until 2026?

Hi,

Sorry, I thought you knew basic astrology. Overall, your chart is very good. When we look at your chart most planets are placed in their sign of exaltation or in their own sign, which is extremely rare. This promises very good things for you in the future, it is a King's chart. However, two of the planets that seem well paced: Saturn in exaltation sign and Mangal in own sign, happen to be in their sign of debilitation in Navamsa. So they only seem exalted, but will not give the fruits of exaltation. Mangal being your lagna lord is very important, a strong lagna lord helps you achieve everything that is promised, but a weak one does not, so my advice would be to strengthen your LL.

Now, many of your planets are vargottam, which is very good, but your lagna is also vargottam, your chart has Scorpio rising and so does your navamsa, which makes you a very lucky person.

According to the Vimshottari dashsa system, you are going through your Shani dasha, but for a chart which has a vargottam lagna like in your case (Scorpio rising D1 and Scorpio rising D9) we can use Stabdika dasha system from Lagna more accurately. If you are using JHora, you can go on the dasha tab and right click to use that dasha, and then go on option and choose the Nakshatra dasha starting point as lagna. This should fit better, so try to match with your life events. If you are running Mangal/Shani right now, this must be the most trying period in you life. Can you confirm?

As for remedies, you might want to ask a pandit or a shastry ji, I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

Regards,

Dear anxious2711,

Based on my life experience so far I must say that every factor has been difficult whether that be education, family/friends, wealth etc. Even if some planets are exalted I can't say that I have felt the benefits. Saying this I am not the kind of person who gives up and believe that its not how hard you get hit but how many times you can get up after getting hit in life which makes you successful.

With regards to remedies for Mars my lagna lord I will ask this same question on the remedies forum to see if any learned astrologer/Pandit ji can answer it. Otherwise I have looked at remedies online which include wearing a coral ring, chanting Hanuman Chalisa and fasting on Tuesdays. I am assuming that Mars is a functional benefic in my chart (being in its own sign and all) so hopefully these remedies will strengthen it and give positive results.

Thanks for all the help - hopefully things will improve!!!

Hello finding a way,

Just my 2 cents:

I feel Mars, your lagna lord in own rasi in D-1 though debilitated in Navmansha, still in Pushkaramansha. I have seen people who have debilitated Lagna Lord use their free will to full extent in order to rise in life. Could you share how was your Jupiter-Mars dasha (2004-12 to 2005-11)?

If you look at your horoscope, Sun, lord of 10th is 9th from 10th which is good for career which also makes your 10th lord exalted. Saturn -Sun are 1-7 to each other. You are in better position to tell how Sun is acting in your horoscope? How was period for Jupiter-Sun (2002-10 to 2003-08)?

Currently Rahu and Saturn are transiting over your natal Saturn in 12th house.

I feel things will start improving in terms of materialistic gain when you start your Saturn-Venus in 2015. Please take opinion of learned astrologers here or elsewhere for analysis, stones and remedies and dont decide on stones based on online research.

Wearing a coral ring might be beneficial as mangal is placed in the 9th house in D9, but Mangal is also your 6th lord so do a trial first in case there are any adverse effects. Hanuman chalisa is the best as it is also a very powerful remedy for Shani as well.
