Apologies for not replying earlier. Here i am re producing remedies suggested by you and how i am complying to them.

Remedies -

1 - Wear yellow sapphre 4.5 carats set in gold.(Was already wearing except from last 10 days)

2 - Recite Hanuman Chalisa daily. (Doing daily for many years now. break once in 3 or 4 months for few days)

3 - Also recite Durga Suktam, Kunjika Suktam ad Devi Suktam from Rig Veda. (Not Doing)

4 - Every Shukla Paksha Ashtmi (8th day of waxing Moon), try to perform Chandi Homam from the manual below. (Planning to do this coming ashtmi)

Instead of Durga Saptashati, you may recite Durga Suktam during Homam, offering Ahutis at the end of every verse, saying "Svaha." Recite Durga Gayatri comng in the end 1008 times, offering ahutis. Recite Kunjika Stotram and Rig Vedc Devi Suktam without giving Ahutis. Rest of the procedure will be the same as given in the manual.

This Durga Suktam Homam will take about 30-40 minutes.

5 - Every 2 Navaratris i.e., during Durga Puja and before Rama Navami, get a priest to recite Durga Saptashati with Homam.

Retrograde Saturn will make you work hard before giving benefic results.

Instead of No 3 above, you can fast once a month on Shukla Paksha Ashtami and worship Goddess Durga that day. It's best to do Chandi Havan as suggested above in No 4, but if on some Ashtami, Havan is not possible, visit a Durga temple and worship the Goddess.

Every Purnima, fast and worship Lakshmi Narayan. you may also do Lakshmi Narayan Havan if possible. See Havan manual link below.

Wear yellow sapphire again.

Rest of the remedies remain the same.

Explorings has read your chart well on Rahu Mahadasha thread.

She didn't mean to say Jupiter is not strong. She meant Jupiter is too strong against a weak Mercury, your Lagna Lord and she is right.

your Jupiter Mahadasha will be good, don't worry about it.

For Mercury, do the remedies Explorings has suggested. Besides, recite any hymn for Ganesha and Saraswati.

If you can't afford emerald, you can wear jade 9 carats moulded into a ring, or set in silver or gold.

Out of your list, No 2) should happen.

House results - 12th and 4th - where it aspects - foreign travel, increase in immovable property, domestic comforts. Also 8th to some extent through Navansha - property inheritance.

Q 5) - To a large extent, no I don't think so.

Your problem is not so much Jupiter, but Mercury.

It's not Jupiter who is giving you the 6th house effects, but Mercury - who aspects its own house in 6th. Jupiter doesn't have much power in 6th in your chart. Besides, Jupiter is retro at 4 degrees, which means it is receding away from 6th house.

Mercury giving effect of 6th house may mean problems and conflicts because of the way you communicate. Be careful while conveying or saying anything. It may also mean problems arising in your future plans, because Mercury also rules 9th house.

Other planets problematic for you are Mars, which makes you a strong Mangalik and Sun malefic in Lagna, because of which Venus is also combust. The periods of these planets may cause trouble.

Fortunately in the Navansha, Mars has become good and hence, it may not cause severe problems in marriage. But Sun-Venus conjunction is repeated in the Navansha as well.

Recite Kala Bhairava Ashtakam, Hanuman Chalisa and any hymns for Vishnu-Lakshmi daily. Offer water to the rising Sun and recite Gayatri Mantra 21 times daily. Offer Sindur to Lord Hanuman every Tuesday.

Thoroughly value your opinion. I have been chanting Ganesh hymn since 2001. However I was told by someone that Jupiter in 8th house in Navamasa as well as in an inimical sign Libra ( sign to Venus) is not good and weakens it, also kendhradipati dosha weakens it. Its also the Lagna lord and 10th Lord in Navamasa. So does this position make Jupiter inauspicious; was mostly worried about the overall picture thus.

Venus may give some diseases. Recite hymns for Lakshmi-Vishnu daily.

I told you Jupiter is giving the effect of 12th and 4th houses in your chart. It' effect of 10th and 2nd is negligible, as these are its inimical houses.

Both Jupiter and Mercury are in enemy sign and aspect each other in Vipreet Raja Yoga. The mutual aspect counter-balances each other's energy levels. Jupiter will give the result of 12th house and Mercury of 6th house. Hence, Mercury is the cause behind 6th house effects.

Your Jupiter Mahadasha may not be trouble free - Antardashas and Pratyantar Dashas of Mercury, Mars, Sun and Venus may not be good, apart from any malefic transits of Saturn and Rahu-Ketu axis.

But the reason behind this will not be Jupiter.

As I said, your retrograde Jupiter is receding away from 6th house and in inimical sign its power is greatly reduced. It will not give you powerful effects of any house. Most powerful effects will be felt of 12th, 4th and 8th to some extent.

A weak Jupiter in 6th house is desirable. There is no reason why you want to have a powerful Jupiter in 6th.

Precisely because Jupiter is not powerful and not friendly, the malefic Antar Dashas and Pratyantar Dashas of other planets and of malefic transits will be felt more.

Jupiter is not giving you malefic effects - it is just not able to protect you from other planets' and transits' malefic effects.

However, your Lagna Lord Saturn and friend Rahu are benefic. So, you don't have much cause to worry.

First, Lagna chart is the primary chart and Jupiter is powerful in Lagna chart.

Second, a weak planet in 8th house in Navansha is desirable - it means that the negative effects of 8th house are minimised. So, a Libra Jupiter in 8th in Navansha is benefic - it only gives the effect of 2nd house from there, which is good.

There is no reason why you want to have a strong Jupiter in 8th of all the houses.

You can't recite Durga Sapatshati's only one chapter. The whole text has to be recited with some preceding and following portions and with some rituals, followed by havan. It's best to call a priest to recite it for you.

Till you can find a priest, you can recite Durga Gayatri 108 times followed by Durga Chalisa daily. You can find both online.

Another option is to fast every Shukla Paksha Ashtami and pray to Goddess Durga that day offering flowers, incense, fruits and sweets and reciting any hymn for Durga and Durga Chalisa.

Thanks for your kind reply, I am versed in sanskrit and have done the whole saptshati before, just was wondering if there was a single chapter benefit based on chart... Maa Durga is my ishta devta!

Question: if one were to do a simple homam on shukla paksha ashtami can just 108 ahutis of durga gayatri be done. What would be the exact procedure, I have a copper havan kund and mango wood available and havan samagri. And is this the durga gayatri:
Om Girijayei Vidmahe Shiva Priyayei Dhimahi Tanno Durga Prachodayat or is it the one that goes like this: Om katyayana.........

Saturn is partially benefic and partially malefic in this chart. Saturn Mahadasha will be mixed.

Durga Saptashati should never be read taking one chapter at a time. It should always be read with preceding and succeeding sections and with proper Puja rituals. If recital is spread over 9 days, there are demarcated stops where one can stop for each day, not taking 1 chapter at a time. Every time you begin after stopping the previous day, you should again recite the preceding and succeeding sections with Puja rituals. Or, you should read the entire text with preceding and succeeding sections. Besides, Durga Bija Mantra 108 times should be recited before beginning 1st chapter. Otherwise, it can harm rather than do good.
