Hi Shrikanth

In 1947, Highland Park in Wayne County it was 5h West of Greenwich Mean Time and not 4h.

So Connie's Sun, Venus and Rahu placements are in the 9th house and not in the 10th house.

Astrodienst homepage automatically computes the Greenwich Mean Time as you enter the date and location. This 5 h behind Greenwich Mean Time is also confirmed by Connie.

Thanks.

Dear Shrikanth

For the JHora Software which I am also using, if you do check the 'Use LMT' option, JHora Software would automatically calculate for you as 4h West of Greenwich Mean Time. You are not supposed to check the 'Use LMT' option. You should instead enter manually under the GMT as 5h West as indicated by Connie ie. tell JHora to ignore the Latitude and Longtitude when calculating the GMT use the one input instead as given by Connie. The reason being JHora does not have an atlas which shows that Highland Park, Wayne County has changd (adjusted) its timing since 1947.

It is just like Singapore. We only change to +8.00 h GMT in Jan 1st 1983 to synchronize the timing with Hong Kong, Beijing, Perth and Kuala Lumpur. Before that our time was +7.30 h GMT. Thus when I enter my birth date into JHora software, I DO NOT check the "Use LMT" option ie. they use the GMT that I enter which is +7.30 h GMT instead of calculating from the latitutde and longtitude hich woud give +8.00 h GMT as currently the time in Singpaore since Jan 1st 1983.

The other software that you use may not even have the option of letting the user input the GMT manually which means that when they calculate the latitude and longitutde it will come out the current GMT for that location (which is wrong for Singapore for people born before 1st Jan 1983 and wrong for Highland Park, Wayne County for people born in 1947.

The www[dot]astro[dot]com website is different. When you enter the town location plus the birth date, they calculate the CORRECT time zone ie. from the latitude and longtitud entered because this software has an atlas which is maintained by the group in Switzerland (which is quite a sizable group) who are PAID A SALARY to keep track of all the cnanges in time throughout history in the atlas use by the software. And that was how I found the error - that Connie's birth location adjusted to 5 h West and she mentioned it in her email also.

When I first joined this forum, that is why I made an announcement that if people want predictions made on their chart, they should try to give their GMT as well and if the software like JHora can use the the manually entered GMT, then the astrologer should use that for better accuracy. Connie did just that. She gave her GMT for 1947 for Highland Park, Wayne County.

But if your software (like your other software) cannot make use of the manually entered GMT, then it will be problematic although I know in Vedic you can adjust the base time using the Ayanmsa but that would depend on how your software is designed and it should be more complicated.

Thanks.

Hi Shrikanth

OK, I see you did not chek the Use LMT checkbox. But did you enter the 5 h West of GMT provided by Connie?

The Lagna is 0 degrees 3 minutes 21.09 seconds Virgo Lagna Asendant. Mercury is in the 10th house of Profession and the Sun, Venus and Rahu all in Leo has shifted to the 9th houe.

Thanks.
