And if so, is it also approx. 10 days before and 10 days after transit? And how will planets act during that period? Will they be "extra" powerful and act malefic, if they are natural malefics, or can they also act extra beneficial if they for e.g. are entering or leaving a friendly sign? Like when Rahu will enter Libra, a friendly sign. After it crosses the transit line, will it be powerful in a good way or can it also manifest in a bad way?

But I feel a powerful 3rd house with Mars there is not good for you, nor Ketu malefic in 9th. From 12th of Jan, Rahu-Ketu will become benefic.

Can same analogy be taken for Dhasha Periods. I know you do not conform to Dasha Sandhi. But still, it seems like a reasonalble proposition to consider based on planets gaining/loosing power while changing signs.

I am not even a primary student in astrology. All i know is tid bit read/heard from here n there. But as Rahu has its way, i some how got a drop of this ocean. But mine belief in dasha sandhi is becos of following :-

(0) Not as a astrological concept, but as on empirical finding

(1) Many of my major life events did not happened as per dasha period prescribed in many sources. They occured before or after as well. Because my past could not match up, i could not reasonably predict the future.

(2) my lagna, and major planets like Jup, Sat are in border zones.

(3) Variation in basic constants of astrological calculation like :- Ayanmansa, tropical or geocentric setting in Jhora etc are also source of un systematic error which can have effect on dasha periords.

Hence willy nilly, we have to allocate for a grey peirod between which a event can happen. Hence the concept of dasha Sandhi.

It is true. I have witnessed that it is Lord Saturn that brings about major changes with every change in transit. I applied in my case all the transits of Saturn and concluded that whenever new transit took place, I found major changes happening like for instance, I did astrology when Saturn was in virgo. When Lord Saturn transited to Libra in August'12, I felt my time for astrology was coming to an end and it is exactly happening these days as I have become more busy with other things in life. When Lord Saturn was in cancer, I did MBA and was at the peak of popularity for the entire period. And so on.

I agree with you that Saturn's transit to different signs change a person. When Saturn was in Virgo, I was very sentimental, and you even called me 'Senti King', and now, I see a big change in me. I have become a very cold and detached person. Emotions don't come to me at all now. I think Saturn a cold and detached planet in my ascendant, and that too exalted, is the reason for it. I even hate tears now. What a change Saturn has brought in my personality. Earlier people used to ask me not to become emotional, and now I am not at all that. So when the time comes, things change. Thank You Yellow-ji and Saindhavi-ji for the replies. Saindhavi-ji you maybe exactly right. Stambhi Ju might be the cause. Additionally my transit Su was exactly running over my natal Sa in 8th H.

Also to let you know I am going through Sa MD and Ma AD till Jan-2013. Post that Ra antar starts.

As you asked, my Sa-Ju are both in 8th House (Virgo) in close conjunction (less than 1 deg) and Rahu is in 6th House (Cancer). Ma is 10th lord in 11H of Sagittarius.

Yups exactly... that is exactly what I meant! Had Jupiter been direct, it would have kept you strong and healthy.

- LL, Venus will be debilitated in 12th from lagna. Stress and frustrations will increase.
- This is not as detrimental/stressful for Taurus Lagna as debilitation is taking place in 5H for Taurus but Librans need to take care.

I don't see anything materializing till Venus comes home and stabilizes itself after Nov 17.
