Good day to all the respected member of LOVA

I am a regular visitor on this forum and everyday i get to learn different different things.
"immeasurable source of knowledge" is the only word that strikes my mind for this forum.
I have a small query. Can the mantras or japa be done in evening time? will it be effective? I ask this because i have a habit of reciting mantras doing japa in evening, because right from morning i leave for work. So will the chanting of mantras and doing japa in evening is effective? will it give results to me?

I would really appreciate if any of the learned member may kindly shed some light on my query

Thanks
Regards

Yes, you can chant any time.

As long as the mann is antara , the mantra will give the effects. :)

Excellent Query............. Appreciated.

Mantras/Japas must be chanted or recited with unwavering devotion and motivation. Chanting them as a mundane affair deprives them of power. Mantras should be chanted in a quiet place, so that mind is not wavered. The best time for chanting mantras is the Brahmamahurta time i.e ( 5 a.m.). Other good times are the transition periods dawn and sunrise, twilight and sunset. If chanting mantras/Japas during the day time, you should sit facing the west or the east. If chanting mantras during the dawn/evening, you should sit facing the north.

Adityahrudayam is to be chanted preferably in the morning or afternoon. Gayatri japa is to be chanted before sunrise, after sunrise and during sunset for the morning, afternoon and evening. Others like Vishnusaharanama, Lakshmi Sahasranama, Hanuman chalisa can be chanted anytime.
Navagraha gayatri can be chanted anytime I feel except for sun gayatri since sun is powerful during the day.

Dear all
Following on Devjis post I have a query. Sun is assigned daytime hence it is suggested to chant Sun stotras in the daytime. For some other grahas night time is allotted ie when they become. more powerful. Going by this logic isnt it better to recite chandra shani shukra stotras in the evening sandhya or night time?
