Rahu in Mythology
Rahu is a cut-off head of an asura, Swarnbhanu. He is depicted as a serpent with no body riding a chariot drawn by eight black horses. According to the legend, during samudra manthan, the asura Rahu disguised himself as a devta and sat in between the Sun and Moon. Before Swarnbhanu could drink the amrit Sun and Moon found his true identity and informed lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu, in form of Mohini, severed the head of Rahu. Another version is that Mohini changed into the form of Lord Vishnu and with the famous sudershan chakra cut-off his head. The head, however remained immortal for Rahu could drink some drops of the amrit (nectar).
The severed head was taken by Simhika, the mother of Swarnbhanu and nursed. The head, over a period of time got the body of a snake and the name Rahu. The severed body was taken by a Brahmin named Mini. He looked after the body as though it was of his own son. This was Ketu, who in due course of time became a saintly revered seer.
According to mythology, Rahu and Ketu have not excused the Sun and Moon for revealing the identity of disguised Swarnbhanu at the time of distribution of the churned amrit among the devtas. They cause eclipses. Rahu is called nitya and parva. As nitya Rahu causes Moon to wax and wane. The parva Rahu swallows it causing lunar eclipse. Astrology draws hints from mythology. Rahu and Ketu association with Sun or Moon, when found in horoscopes, is interpreted negatively.

Vishal jee, the blanket statement you had furnished is true. I know couple of folks who have Rahu with or without Saturn. Natives in their younger days struggled in health, education ( couple of them have persistent numeroushealth problems ), but their will fower, determination is very stronger to fight out.
May I know, why the Rahu Kalam, from Monday to Sunday was furnished in your query. Rahu kalam & yama kandam and Gullikan times in a day ( whether it is Monday or Friday or any day) most of the south Indian folks knows by heart. There is no need of an anagram for Rahu kalam to decipher or to remember etc.

The case of kumbha lagna and rasi with sat rahu in the second house

Anyways, I did remember telling you Ra & sat... is like double whammy.. Ra also behaves as Sat. For a Taurus asc,,, Ju, V, and Mo are malefics. Sun & Sat are benefics. I did remember telling you, your father's influence would be there in your career/ Business.

i have rahu shani combo in III house. didn't felt most of things what rao sir said about this combo till now.
my rahu mahadasa was during my school years and it went quite smooothly not any significant health or study problems were there but i was bit of stubourn and rash and insincere kind of student those times and teachers were not very fond of me but i managed to get dcent marks every yr although studied very less
just after my XII std guru mahadasa started aand slowly i got more milder and started devoting time to studies buttttt sucess became more difficult and was just short of achieving it every time whole guru-guru prd was a waste with lot of studying for competive exams and no sucess then guru- shani came and i was selected in all med entrace exams with good rank , every thing was going smothly till coming of guru -mangal which again was very hard prd for me and i was devastated by it and now guru-rahu prd is going on which is testing me a quite and lot of setbacks in carrier field

but i can say one thing this rahu-shani combo didnot made my health weaker or anything , i have good immunity , 5'11" ht and heavy build (got few exra pounds since last 3-4 yrs)

I have seen this combination in a few charts and my experiences is that the results and the magnitude of the impact is depends on a few things. First Ra and Sa should form a close conjunction to see any significant long term impact. If Shani is otherwise strong and a functional benefic there are only minor issues during sub periods and transits of the two planets. A benefic aspect from other strong functional benefics to Sa, Ra or both would mellow down any ill effects. If Ra is exalted, in it's own or friendly rashi along with Sa being a benefic, there will be several material benefits from the association. The location of such conjunction is of importance too. In a dusthan without any benefic drishti there will be related miss-happenings.
In general if Ra and/or Sa are malefics, are closely conjuct, creating malefic aspects, this combination can create kaph related ailments to the body parts associated with the house of conjunction, neck and bone related ailments, breathing problems and rheumatism. It can also create troubles from servants, subordinates, workers, etc. and also create a bad reputation for the jatak. Any weakness of H6 or it's lord, and that of the lagan lord will increase the potential and magnitude of the physical illnesses.

for other inauspicious conjugations like sun-rahu or shani-chandr or mangal-shani we can find logic that these grahas are having permanent enemy relation to one another so when they come together in one house they become atishatru to one another thus that house suffers becoz of two powers acting in against each other and mostly one of the pair would be functional benefic and other would be functinal malefic for any given lagna so cause of problem is there
but when we see rahu- shani together its diferent as both of them have permanent friend relation so when they conjoin their compound relational ship is neutral to one another now based on ascendant if both of them are functional benefics(gemini or libra etc) then why will they harm the house or native?

i will keep this in mind although i too think on same line n try to help needy as much as possible, my profession of ortrhopedic surgeon do bring me in touch of handicaps quite often
my details are following, u can analyze my chart i f u have time (well i wanted advise regarding this guru rahu prd as it is becoming very difficult for me carrierwise and my mind is also flooded with fear and worries time to time, how much suffering is remaining and willl i overcome it or would be left broken)

i will keep this in mind although i too think on same line n try to help needy as much as possible, my profession of ortrhopedic surgeon do bring me in touch of handicaps quite often

A quick q to you, numbskull.
Sat+Rahu is an excellent placement in the third house for the native, but not so for his/her siblings. A case i know, she has rahu+sat in third house, she has two siblings, both separated from their spouses and are unhappy in general.

about siblings well i have only one younger sisiter
she is doing well as per careeir field she is bit of short tempered but highly ambitious and kind hearted
she had an love marriage ( although it was approved and arranged in proper wedding by us) which hapened for first time in our extended family as we r quite conservative family of rajasthani rajputs.
she and her husband r living in different cities as both of them doing their respective higher degrees and her relations with in laws is cordial but she hasn't stayed at their place for long as they are in third city
i kind of pamper her a lot and she to cares lot for me especially after passing of our mother 2 yr back
although we argue a lot and seem to disagree on most of things , we go along okay
i was always more closer to my mom while she was of rebellious during childhood and teens, as per our father i think she is more open to him than i could evr be and dad also some how always end up agreeing to her demands and wishes so do i.
