over the past month i am observing a shift in my preferences........
at first i wanted to get into some core company as i am pursuing B.E. chemical engineering but now suddenly i feel attracted to the field of information technology and want to get into some IT firm like TCS OR WIPRO.....
am i making the right decision...........?

This is a case of lack of focus. The world is too glamorous to attract you in different directions. Nothing is wrong or right in this, but depends on what you really want to do. You are pursuing B.E. chemical engineering. I would suggest, while you r studying, check into the scopes of that subject and decide how you wish to proceed or select companies accordingly.
