Hi

I just want to share this with the rest of the forum.

My Mercury has a very high Shadbala 663 situated in my 11th house. Any planets situated in the 11th House is like in a garden of Eden where every of your wish is granted. My Mercury rules the 3rd and 12th house (house of writing and expenses). Sun in 12th in Gemini ruling 2nd house, means a lot of expenses incurred in books (2nd house of movable possessions, Gemini deals with books, Sun deals with books on philosophy, humanistic studies, spiritual matters etc.).

All the above combinations mean whenever I have an opportunity to spend money my WISH IS GRANTED. Take for example, if on a particular day, I am in the midst of learning Jyotish, then suddenly I felt that I have a thirst of knowledge for topics related to Panchang (the Hindu Calendar). When I search the net, I not only find things related to Panchang but covering the complete details of :

(A) Panchang article describing its mundane use.

(B) Panchang article describing its jyotish use (article slanted more towards emphasising how it can be used for Vedic Astology).

(C) A Panchang calendar for a year in English (which can be extended to other years).

(D) A Panchang software online.

(E) A Panchang website.

(F) Panchang specialised uses.

Same with books. If on a particular day suddenly I felt for a thirst for extending collection of Platonean Philosophy, I dropped by in a bookstore and sure enough there will be something on Plato on a title which till now I have not own one. If the current bookstore does not have one (which is seldom) then I go somewhere for shopping and I find another new bookstore (which everybody knows about it except I). On going into the bookstore, lo and behold a Plato book on something hich I have not own!

Now that is what I called heavens granting your wish TO SPEND MONEY!

Mabye planets with high Shadbala in the 11th House can give rise to a lot of fulfilment of your expectations (to know what they are then one has to go into the details of the Shadbala breakup).

Do you have any planets with an EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH Shadbala in the 11th House?

Hi Hock Leong,

In this native's chart, using JHORA, Mars is in 11H of Pisces with strength of 177. Ascendant is Taurus.

DOB: July 27, 1973,
TOB: 03:10 AM IST,
POB: Madurai, TamilNadu, India(Coordinates: 9°54'40"N 78°7'10"E )

Ofcourse it is NOT as high as 633 but i have never seen any chart with Shadbala greater than 199.

Thanks
Sunsri.

Hi

Let me look into it.

By the way mine is 663 and not 633.

Are we referring to the same data field in JHora? it is Shadbala. For example the minimum Shadbala for Mercury is supposed to be 420.

Thanks.

Khoo,

My mercury Shadbala in Jhora 261.55
This is under the Strengths tab.

Is this the same place you are looking?

Hi astro

Yes, under the strengths tab the Shadbala % will give 158%.

From there I do a right click and do a Shadbala breakup. Over there, besides the Shadbala components, I get to see the Shadbala 663 (in normal units - do not know the Hindi term for this) and under the Shadbala in rupas it is 11.0.

So one is a % table, one is in normal units and one is in rupas.

If Sunsri says if he never sees a chart higher than 199, I guess he could be referring to the % table (just a guess).

As for your 261.55, it is posible you are looking at the second table - the one in normal units - but that would be below the normal requirements of 420. I am only guessing. Am I correct?

My JHora is 7.3.2.

Thanks.

Hi Hock Leong,

Yes, i was looking at the % strength. When i do the right click and then see the Shadbala breakup, i see it is 530 for Mars in 11th House.

What is the normal range and what is the HIGH and exceptionally HIGH watermark?

I learnt something more today about JHORA.

Thanks,
S

Hi Nina

Thanks for the reply. Yes, sometimes my high Shadbala Mercury seems to pull all my energey towrds satisfying the areas ruled by this planet at the expense of the other planets. I do not show much interest in the other areas ruled by the other plaents. I also end up very mentally exhausted after satisfying my quest for the Mercury areas.

And yes, your point about Vimshopaka is correct. With the strength we get from Shadbala we will gravitate actively towards those areas ruled by that same planet which also has a high Vimshopaka. Added to that would be the planet's lordship (eg. kendra houses for activity, trinal hoouses for beneficial outcomes etc.), the Yogas it participates etc.

Shadbala on its own does not grant a person's wish in completion but one has to consider the factor of Vimshopaka as well. Yes, I missed out that point. But I also added that Mercury being in the 11th (or for that matter any planet) usually grants us something without much effort (although you did mention that 11th house gives gains). But I guess this point is much less important than Vimshopaka. Just like the maleficity of a Moon is determined mainly by its Paksha Bala.

You have clarified the concept of Vimshopaka for me - I may have known it in theory but failed to use it decisively in practice.

Thanks, Nina.

Hi all,

In the context of strong shadbala planets in the 11th, I have 10th and 11th lord Saturn in the 11th in Aquarius with 9.97 rupas, ie: 199.38% strength.

The Vimsopaka or strength in vargas is as follows:
Dasa Varga (10) = 81.38 %, in Shodasa varga (16) = 81 %,
in Saptavarga (7) = 91.38 %

Yes, Saturn bhuktis have been wonderful and have always given
me some permanent, long term blessing/achievement/milestone.

Feedback is welcome.

Regards,

Ashok

Dear friends,
I am new to the learning of vedic astrology. I found the concept of SHADBALA extremely interesting. Thank-you all the learned members for introducing me to this concept. I went through the calculation rules of shadbala, but I guess its a bit complicated for me, it will take time to understand. I would really appreciate if members help me calculate my planet's shadbalas. :) My birth details are:

Hi

This post is a correction to this blog - one of my earlier ones.

My Mercury has a high :

(a) Shadbala - this grants my strength in doing Mercury things.

(b) Vimsopaka Bala - this grants my enjoyment in doing Mercury things and hence I seek to do Mercury things eagerly.

My Mercury placement in the 11th house helps to grant my fulfillments in objectives and desires.

Thanks.
