Dear Numbskull,
It is Maha lakshmi for all material puposes and lord Hanuman ji for all spiritual purposes.
For maha lakshmi , The Mahalakshmi ashtakam is very good and also ask her to take a head bath every friday without fail.
For hanuman ji just chanting hanuman chalisa is sufficient.

ramanan

Dear Shiv
The deity for all material purposes is Durga and for all spiritual purposes it is Vishnu. To know the rationale behind it please read my post on the same viewtopic.php?f=22&t=6565&hilit=+ishta+devata+kula+devata

Dear Ramanji,
You had pointed out that Krishna and Rudra were my Ishta Devetas for Material and Spiritual pursuits, respectively.
In that context, would Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaaya suffice or Om Namo Narayaanaya? Or is there any specific stotra?
Best Regards,
A_S

Thank you Ramanan Sir. Would it be mother Gayatri or should I worship any fiercer aspect like Kali? As I also have a Moon-Saturn Parivartana in rashi and Mars-Venus Parivartana in Navamsa͵ hence asking.

Dear Numbskull,
The devatas can wait now.I would suggest that you soak a tea spoon of black til in water over night and ask him to eat it the next day morning in empty stomach. Also daily give a warm til oil massage to the knee cap and then wash it off with water. There will be a lot of improvement in a few weeks.

Dear Hegde,
No one can do any upasana to nirguna. It is a state beyond all forms , names and actions.Your Devata is Shri Rudra representing saturn.you can also choose hanuman ji.
Interestingly pranayama helps you to transcend thoughts which is the first step in spirituality and a strong saturn being the planet in question here will help you to attain this through the practice of the same.
Hence try and get a master to take you through vasi yoga[wind].
Prayers to Rudra or Hanuman may help you get a master who can teach you that.
