with due respect to the opinions given by learned members, I wish to present an altogether different view regarding badhak for Fixed signs. In classics it is mentioned that for fixed lagna 9L is badhak. But there's an author KK Pathak who opine "Taking 9L as badhak is violating the fundamental rules of astrology" He says How can the strongest trikon lord can cause delay & problems. He suggested for fixed signs, 3L shd be taken as badhak.

For Taurus Asc, Sat is Yogkaraka and it can never give bad results (unless multiple affliction).

Can someone share his/her experience when 9L created obstacles?

My birth details: oct 1 1962, 22:27, mumbai.
9L Mahadasha lots of struggles but moved overseas, went to college, found job/s, marriage, kids, properties. But with 5L Mahadasha, things slowed down came to standstill when sade-sati started about 3yrs now till present. So in brief, yes faced obstacles but able to overcome with 9L mahadasha. But the sade-sati has literally brought me down and I am looking at life differently more like "leaf blowing in the wind". No expectations from life, living day to day from savings (no income). Hopefully shared info. will be helpfull.

I agree to ur observation but I've a different point of view.

First Sat is retro so it'll give u delayed results. Moreover its severely afflicted by being on RKA, aspect of debi Mars, and itself debi in D-9. So I doubt whether it can give u any gud results. Moreover in D-1, LL Ven is in 6L being aspected by debi Mars & retro Sat. In D-9, Ven is on RKA. LL of D-9 Moon is in 8H again aspected by debi Mars. There're many combinations for struggle in life. Moreover when the Sat dasha started you were in sadhe satti (till Dec 87 you were under sadhe satti as Sat got retro & took extra time in Scorpio)

So i believe its not the 9L which is not able to give u results rather many other restricting factors.

I know of a horoscope where the Lagna is vargottama Vrishabha lagna, and Sani is also vargottama in 3rd house, Karkataka. The dispositor of Sani, Chandra, is placed in Mrighasheersha - 2 in lagna in Rasi, but bhava chart shows Chandra as being in the 2nd bhava, in close conjunction with Budha and Sukra. Budha is also in Mrighasheersha - 2 in this chart and Sukra is Aridhra - 2.

This female native belongs to a very middle class family, but I would have predicted that she will be extremely lucky and will be very well settled in due course of time. What stops me from being more confident about her future is the placement of Sani in the 3rd house of Chandra (an enemy's house). Will the effects be less in this case ? This native will begin Sani Maha Dasa at age 38, and I wonder if she will have a bright future, despite the financial difficulties faced by her parents ??

Can anyone else also shed light on the effect of vargottama yoga karaka placed in the 3rd bhava for a vargottama lagna ??

As per my understanding:

Vargottama Lagna, the person will be able to grab whatever opportunity the 9th lord will bring infront of him. So i guess if there is no other affliction to the lagna it should help the native a lot.

For the second query,if saturn is vargottama, not afflicted in D1 and D9, in 3rd house it should give good result.

I am also Taurus ascendant and asc is also in vargotthama position . My saturn is placed in 7th position is rasi chart and 4th position in navamsha chart. I have been experiencing Raahu Maha dasa and Rahu -Saturn was the very bad period till now.(i think bcos of 6th and 8th position from each other).

Can you pls explain that saturn can be still considered as Yogakaraka for me?

I would certainly caution Taurus and Libra ascendants not to get carried away by "Yogakaraka" Saturn. I have seen a good number of horoscopes where Saturn dasa has brought the natives to their nadir.

We need to look at the horoscope in entirety. Affliction by the nodes is unwelcome. Position of Saturn in unfavourable constellations will also render the dasa weak. The D-Charts also have a role to play here. Longitudinal afflictions also do matter a lot.

I agree to observations of financell. Even otherwise all 17 yrs (dasha yrs of Sat) can't be totally gud or totally bad. There're many other factors which modify the results.
According to BV Raman, Rahu AD in any dasha is never fully good. Nodes (even if they're benefic) always give some negative results. Sat-Rahu, Rahu-Sat, Mars-Rahu, Rahu-Mars so any lagna and any placement are times to be watch carefully.

In ur case, Sat's placement is excellent. As 9L, 10L it is placed in 7H which is gud. But you've not mentioned where's Rahu placed?

Now here Rahu is 12H is posited in the Aries sign of Mars. So It wil give results as per Mars & the planets aspecting it. However Rahu is 12H seldom gives gud results. It may give you expenditures, movement, connection with foreign (distant place) etc.

I agree to ur observations that 6/8 placement is never gud.

I read your reply. There is an issue that is affecting the gentleman whose horoscope this is.

He is in a v high position. right now he is having big issues with investors since last 1 1/2 months and this is a dead serious. His venus dasha s coming to an end. Sun dasha starts in January 2013. sun is 4th lord and staying in 12th house(aries) Rahu is placed in 4th house so Rahu represents Sun.

If he has to resign from this contract-will he get another equally great job? whats the time frame when he can find another position?
