12th lord in lagna augurs for a bad start and 6th lord mars in the 4th aspected by the 8th lord saturn makes it much more difficult (problems to your mother and general mental peace). To make matters worse saturn aspects your moon, again not a good thing for mental peace. Can give you depression and mood swings. Sri RV Ramanan of our forum is of the view that an exalted jupiter is no good for Gemini lagna and it looks like Jupiter has done you in too. He can prescribe you remedies and propitiation for Jupiter/Mars/Saturn, do contact him.
However, I agree with Sudhir that the current Jupiter/moon period and the following Jupiter/Sun period could bring you relief and prosperity.

The present sub period is of mars who is a malefic for your lagna owning the sixth house of debts and placed in an inimical sign and aspected by saturn.He is in debility in navamsa too.
You need to propitiate mars by visiting tiruchendur once after a samudra snaanam and a bath at naazhik kinaru,and recite subramanya stotram daily.
Along with this in the evenings please chant maha lakshmi ashtakam daily to see some inflow of wealth.
The situation will improve after april 2012.

Chaks above has rightly said that though Jupiter is the greatest benefic, its also true that for Gemini Lagna, Jupiter being in 2H is very bad, and in your case is in exaltation too....empowering him to do more harm. On top of that, Saturn is your 8L and also Kharesha, aspecting 6L & natural malefic Mars in sitting in 4H.
Jupiter/mars started 15-Feb-2012 and has yielded the results you have stated. THis is also the time when Saturn is in retro in your 5H, and will enter 4H...so it is likely to cause more heartburn.
The next Mahadasha is also of Saturn, who is also not great for your chart and his period lasts for 19 years. He has influence directly or indirectly on Mind [mind], Lagna [ physical self], family /wealth, home, sickness etc and for next three years has potential to do more harm.

Its not Jupiter. But Rahu doing you in. You must undertake Durgadevi upasana. Durga Saptashati would do good to take care of Rahu. Taking care of Rahu would empower Jupiter to give you all the happiness.
