Profession:
"Whether a person will go for service or own business?" is determined
by following principles (Taken from the book "Astrology for profession" by Col Gaur):
Principle 1: If no. of planets from 7th house to 12th house OR from
10th house to 3rd house is >5, chances are the native will go for own
business. Many planets on either side of 10H or Lagna make them
strong, which is required to start own work.
Principle 2: There must be a PAC connection of lor of 3rd
(representing own efforts) with the 9th/10th houses or their lords. 3L
represents self efforts which must be connected to 10H (profession)
and 9H (luck).
Principle 3: There must be plenty of dhan yogas in kundli. Dhan yogas
are PAc connection of 2nd, 5th, 9th & 11 lords. Dhan yogas are
necessary for business.
Principle 4: Lagna (representing self) must be sronger than 6h house
(representing service).
For checking which is strong-
1. Whether 6L aspecting 6H or LL aspecting lagna. Lord's aspect make
that house strong.
2. See how many planets aspect Lagna & 6H.
3. How many planets aspect lagna or 6H. More planets aspect means
strong house.
Principle 5: If many planets improve their condition in Navmansa it is
a indication of self efforts. Planets in exaltation, mool trikona or
own sign, vargottam, shubh kartari, in kendra or trikona are
considered improvement.
Principle 6: There must be influence of Sun, Moon, Mars & Rahu on
lagna or lagna lord in order to give him confidence to start own
business. Three planets (excpet Rahu) represents Atma, Mann, Vigour.
So their influence on LL or Lagna is important for own work.
Principle 7: Aspect of Saturn on 6H will make native serve & on 10H/
Lagna will make him work for his/her own.
Moreover Indu lagna must be very strong for own work.

Excellent Post. I have a question. Do all these princples need to be in tact for own business. Own business can mean various things. For example, Financial Advising / Investment Advising / Brokers in the US work for a big financial instiution but conduct their own business and practice. Meaning, they have to go out and find their clients which is the hardest part. Even though the person is working under a big company, they are still having their own business.
What are your thoughts on that? Do these principles apply to this type of work?

Thereafter i started to hunt for a suitable job and after waiting for a 4 months i got the job in call center on dated 13th feb 2012 but again unfortunately i left that job on 9th march 2012. Now, Back to square Again i become unemployed.
I am confused what is good for me , Its Job or Business? Details : 09th march 1980, 20:10, Ahmedabad.

Principle 4: Bhavabala wise Lagna is stronger than 6H but coz of influence of 6 planets on 6H, it is stronger
Principle 5: 4 planets Sat, Ven, Rahu, Ketu improve in D-9
Principle 6: Mars, Sun, Rahu aspects LL.
Principle 7: Sat is in Lagna
Though technically more or less all combinations are favorable but intuitively I feel 6H is stronger. I feel u shd join job.

I agree with ur observations. To be true, predicting profession is one of the most dubious thing for astrologers. If we see classics then at that time there were just a few professions available at that time like soldier, farmer, merchant, few menial jobs. Today if we list down there may be 100+ professions possible.
Moreover one person may have many professions at the same time viz teacher in day time, singer in night, plus insurance agents and something else on weekends. So its really tough to pinpoint any one profession.
Then one person may go thru different things (business or service) at various stages of life!!
So Col. Gaur conducted this research to find out whether person will go for self work (of any kind) or service. 6H denotes service and the stronger it is, more chances for job. Lagna indicate self and influences by many planets lead to confidence for own work.
My personal experience is when mixed combinations are there, person will have both service & business at various stages of life. However I'm not thru in timing for own work or service.

Now here though Sat aspect 6H and has given service but all other combinations strongly favour own work.
Now analysing D-10 chart:
1. LL Ven in own sign aspected by 11L Jup from 5H.
2. 10L Sat aspect 9H and exalted Mars, 5L Mer in it. There's exchange between 3L Moon & 9L Sat (making of luck by own efforts)
3. Sun from own sign aspect 10H & Rahu. Rahu in 10H is very gud.
So D-10 is quite strong.
Present dasha: Rahu-Jup-Jup
MDL Rahu is posited in 12H from lagna indicating some foreign connection. Since it is connected with 10L Sat so influence of foreign on profession is more prominent. Rahu here denotes expenditures too.
This Rahu is in 5H in mooltrikona sign in D-9 and in 10H in D-10, so it shd give gud results related to career in its dasha.
Transit wise Rahu aspect 10H from Moon & 10L from Lagna.
Jup is natal 9L & 12L (foreign connectivity again). In D-9, Jup is 8L posited in 12H (vipreet rajyoga which denotes success after struggle & repeat influence of 12H).
Transit wise Jup is in Lagna aspecting own 9H. Sat also aspect 9H in transit.
From Mar 23, PD of 10L Sat will start who's again in 12H. I feel u shd get some results related to profession & you'll be able to better make up ur mind.
In case my analysis is ok & ur profession/business is connected to foreign in some manner, then u shd continue own work.

I've not used these principles for analysing ur chart as there;re many other things that shd be given first priority:
1. LL in 6H denotes health issues or competition through out life
2. 10L Mars in 8H aspected by 8L Sat denotes struggle/break in profession
3. From Moon, 10L Mer is in 12H conjunct 6L/11L Ven and aspected by Sat
4. From Moon chart, Moon is 8L posited in Lagna & LL is in 12H. 8L in lagna again represents health issues & LL in 12H confirms same. Jup in 12H from Moon makes Shakat yoga (many ups & downs in life).
5. D-10 analysis is serious:
a) LL Jup is debilitated in 2H & conjunct 8L Moon. Though its a Gaj kesari yoga but due to debilitation of Jup, this is not very potent.
b) 10L Mer is debilitated (though neechbhang).
c) 10H aspected by 12L Mars
d) Karaka for hard work Sat is debiliated here
Looking all these things i'll never suggest you to go for own work.

Thanks for your efforts, with my little knowledge of astrolgy I am in agreement with your observations. Your analysis is right but I will request you to answer few more questions,before that I will give you an idea about my proposed profession, I am a CA qualified in 2008,as have taken long time to complete the course & with frequent breaks in jobs,I am finding it difficult to get a good job & inclined to go for the profession.
My question are as under
1 My Mars MD is starting from May 12(recently) , do you see any serious health issues or mishaps either fatal or having impact of decreasing working capacity ( Mars being lord of 10thhouse,placed in 8th house)
2 Your observation re LL in 6th house is correct in respect of competition. I have faced severe competition in my life on job front like adamant bosses, un coperative collegues etc. So far I have not faced any serious health issues to which you are giving priority therefore I will request to analyse my chart on the basis of principles mentioned in your post
3 How do you see job chances in my chart & which period will be good for me financially?
4 Due to deb mercury & Jupiter in d10 is their any fear of facing disciplinary action & spoiling my reputation?
or getting involved in an unwanted situation due to mistakes/misrepresentations by other people.
5 Whether partnership is suitable for me as per my chart?I am aware that astrologically every thing is going against starting own work/profession but as I do not have much option, planning for it .Also there is less chances of incurring cash losses in profession like this but one has to guard himself against kind of risks mentioned in point no4 therefore request you to give clear answers though it may be against my view.

Your analysis is right but I will request you to answer few more questions,before that I will give you an idea about my proposed profession, I am a CA qualified in 2008,as have taken long time to complete the course & with frequent breaks in jobs,I am finding it difficult to get a good job & inclined to go for the profession.
My question are as under
1 My Mars MD is starting from May 12(recently) , do you see any serious health issues or mishaps either fatal or having impact of decreasing working capacity ( Mars being lord of 10thhouse,placed in 8th house)
2 Your observation re LL in 6th house is correct in respect of competition. I have faced severe competition in my life on job front like adamant bosses, un coperative collegues etc. So far I have not faced any serious health issues to which you are giving priority therefore I will request to analyse my chart on the basis of principles mentioned in your post
3 How do you see job chances in my chart & which period will be good for me financially?
4 Due to deb mercury & Jupiter in d10 is their any fear of facing disciplinary action & spoiling my reputation?
or getting involved in an unwanted situation due to mistakes/misrepresentations by other people.
5 Whether partnership is suitable for me as per my chart?I am aware that astrologically every thing is going against starting own work/profession but as I do not have much option, planning for it .Also there is less chances of incurring cash losses in profession like this but one has to guard himself against kind of risks mentioned in point no4 therefore request you to give clear answers though it may be against my view.
