Mars in Leo causes heat waves?

Hey guys! Mars is in Leo right now and just went retrograde. Most of this winter in Los Angeles has been way hotter than normal. For example, today January 26th, it will be 86 degrees.

I have heard Mars in Leo causes heatwaves, like the one in Europe severral years ago where 30,000 people died. Any ideas?
