school, job, own business?

Having a tough time figuring on what my next move should be. I could either go back to college (I have a B.S. degree), start my own business, or find a new job (I am unemployed). Tried to analyze my D24, D10 and of course Rasi. DOB 20/9/1974 Syracuse, NY, USA at 12:01:30pm. D/B =Ketu/Venus, in D10, L10 in 8th but I am a scientist (I love research) and analyze the majority of my life. In D24, JuRx in ascendant with Moon and it's true that elementary school was a breeze. College was harder, but I don't feel I really tried either. Anyhow, my question is which way should I go?

The foloowing are the combinations to check whether a person will go for Service or own work:

Profession:
"Whether a person will go for service or own business?" is determined
by following principles (Taken from the book "Astrology for
profession" by Col Gaur):

Principle 1: If no. of planets from 7th house to 12th house OR from
10th house to 3rd house is >5, chances are the native will go for own
business. Many planets on either side of 10H or Lagna make them
strong, which is required to start own work.
{In ur case 6 planets are from 7H to 12H}

Principle 2: There must be a PAC connection of lor of 3rd
(representing own efforts) with the 9th/10th houses or their lords. 3L
represents self efforts which must be connected to 10H (profession)
and 9H (luck).
{ 3L Sat aspect 10H and 9L Moon is in the nakshtra of Sat}

Principle 3: There must be plenty of dhan yogas in kundli. Dhan yogas
are PAc connection of 2nd, 5th, 9th & 11 lords. Dhan yogas are
necessary for business.
{2L/5L Jup aspect 10H but not to 9L Moon or 11L Mer. However LL Mars aspect 2H & 5H from 11H}

Principle 4: Lagna (representing self) must be sronger than 6h house
(representing service).
For checking which is strong-
1. Whether 6L aspecting 6H or LL aspecting lagna. Lord's aspect make
that house strong. {6L Mars aspect 6H but LL Mars doesnt aspect Lagna}
2. See how many planets are posited in Lagna & 6H.{2 planets in lagna & 6H empty}
3. How many planets aspect lagna or 6H. More planets aspect means
strong house. {Aspect of 1 planet each}
4. Decide from SAV (Sarvashtakvarga) score. 6H has score 33 but lagna has only 28
{Overall 6H is stronger than lagna}

Principle 5: If many planets improve their condition in Navmansa it is
a indication of self efforts. Planets in exaltation, mool trikona or
own sign, vargottam, shubh kartari, in kendra or trikona are
considered improvement.
{Except Rahu Ketu all planets improve in D-9}

Principle 6: There must be influence of Sun, Moon, Mars & Rahu on
lagna or lagna lord in order to give him confidence to start own
business. Three planets (excpet Rahu) represents Atma, Mann, Vigour.
So their influence on LL or Lagna is important for own work.
{Moon, Rahu are in lagna & Sun with LL Mars}

Principle 7: Aspect of Saturn on 6H will make native serve & on 10H/
Lagna will make him work for his/her own.
{Sat aspect none}

Moreover Indu lagna must be very strong for own work. Indu Lagna (Gemini) contain Sat and aspected by Jup. 11th from Indu lagna is aspected by Mars.

Conclusion: You've combinations for self work but it seems initially you've to start with some job for sometime.

Dasha: Ketu-Ven-Mer
In D-1, Ketu is debilitated in 7H )(partnership) and in D-9 again it is debilitated in 12H (expenditures). It is posited with exalted Jup in D-10 lagna. So for sure, you'll get job in Ketu Maha dasha.

Ven, though maraka for Scorpio lagna, is posited in in D-10 and aspect 10H in D-10 from its mool trikona sign. Its exalted in D-10. So it shd also help in profession.

The earlier PD lord was Sat who's posited in 8H of D-1. As of now Sat is also causing sadhe satti to your already debilitated Moon, hence mental tensions and stress is experienced much more.

The PD lord now (From Dec 31-Feb 29, 2012) is Mer, who's exalted & vargottam. It is posited with 10L Sun. I hope Mer would definitely take you to ur workplace.

I am still unemployed and looking like crazy for a position-I will most likely have to change fields if I am to get something. Looking at d10, your lagna is different than the one I get from j-hora. I have lagna as leo, with the moon and mars within it. which ayanamsa are you using? Boy I wish that I had cancer lagna, like I have in d9. I wonder if I would have lost my job if that was the case. Its true for each & everyone of us. I formly believe in Sai Baba and love, for he has epitomized the entire spirituality in 2 words: Shraddha aur Saburi. Shraddha i.e.Faith that he'll never leave you, whatever may happen. Now we may complain the circumstances but be sure of that they're needed for us. And the beauty is that it'll be shown to us. And till the time just have Saburi i.e. Patience.

I found these principles working in majority of charts. As such there's no order of importance and no condition that all shd satisfy.
But one deciding factor for job vs Service is Sat's PAC connection with 6H or Lagna. See the principles above & the applicability of them below:
1. Not applicable as only 3 planets present.
2. No connection of 3L Jup with 9L Mer & 10L Moon. Mer is in sign of Jup but debilitated.
3. 2L mars present in 5H and aspect 11H. 11L is exalted Sun which aspect Lagna. DHan yoga present.
4. 6H stronger than Lagna.
5. Moon, Mars, Mer, Jup, Rahu, Ketu improves in D-9. In Fact D-9 is very strong with 4 exalted & one planets in own sign.
6. Lagna influences by Sun & Moon.
7. Sat aspect 6H as well as Lagna.
Indu lagna is Capricorn who have its lord Sat, hence very strong. Capricorn sign moves to 11H in D-9.

So there're mixes results. But then strong yoga Shashak Mahapurush yoga in D-1 and Bhadra maha purush yoga in D-9 and 10L Moon in Lagna, exalted LL Ven makes this horoscope above avg.
In D-10, again LL Sat is in Lagna but this time debilitated.

In my opinion this native can make a way in politics as he got so many good yogas & Lagna aspected by exalted Sun and a stronf Sat (karaka for masses).

Well, as of now he's just 19+ and under sadhe satti.

Incidently I'll like to ask one question: How was this time in 2009-11?
I' asking this as he was under sadhe satti at that time too and Sat in virgo has SAV score of just 17 where Sat has contributed zero.
My observation is whenever Sat transits theu a sign where it has contributed zero score and if at that time there's sadhe satti then its a very bad tiem for native. I've seen 4-5 cases where native attempted suicide too. So just wanted to confirm.

he has not been faring well in studies & introvert .It is being said that education Graph is very good, but he is facing problem in education i.e not getting good percentage & failure in entrance exams of professional course despite He has Tula Lagan ,Saturn is In 4th house(Capricorn) as lord of 5th(Aquarious) in own house forming Sash Yoga .also Jupiter Aspects Fifth house ?

Is it due to Malefics? or is is due to Lord of 5th gone to 4th house?

On March 3 2011, I was given notice that my department would close on April 1, 2011. Using Lahiri and Vimshottari Dasa system started from Moon, this would have taken place in Ketu dasa, Venus bhukti. If you look at my dasamsa chart lord of the 10th house (Venus) is in the 8th house in Pisces. It is tough to tell whether this trend will continue in my Venus dasa (still in Ketu Venus now) now that it has been activated, or whether the 10th lord in the 8th just indicates my strong desire for research. Also in my rasi chart the 12th lord was in the 10th house. I am not sure if that linkage causes failure, I was working at a hospital and that could indicate this too.


Anyhow, at the moment I haven't the money to start a business. Money is very tight now and I am having the hardest time getting another job, even though I have sent out hundreds of resumes since April.

Oh and DST does apply for syracuse (i think it makes it GMT -4 instead of -5. Now I live in MST (GMT -7).

Thanks Neeraj for your reply. You are correct-I am in service/job, but really would like to do independent business. I have ideas and even went ahead with proposal for funding, but it was rejected. Hence I did not try again. But I have been unhappy with my career (changed or lost jobs a few times already)-hence the courage and desire is actually there to start on my own. I have to wait till the capital is there too. But what do you think are my prospects if I run on my own?

My 3rd house of self-effort is heavily aspected by Jupiter, Moon and Mars-would this be a factor?
