Hi Chawla,
Collectively if planets are concentrated in the artha trikona trine, of houses 2, 6, 10, it can represent wealth in the chart. They correlate with the earth signs, Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, so they represent productivity and actions in the physical world. However, of these houses only the 2nd house, standing alone, is truly a wealth producing house. The 2nd house from any house is a house of gains for that house, just like the 12th from any house is the house of loss for that house. For instance, the 11th house is the house of gains of one's career, the 8th house is the house of gains of one's spouse etc.
The primary dana yoga or wealth producing houses are houses 1, 2, 5, 9, and 11. Any combination of these will produce wealth. The 1st house is important because it is the foundation of one's life and one's health. It also shows what comes to us, since it's the house of one's self and identity. The 5th and 9th houses are lakshmi sthanas or houses of Lakshmi the Goddess of wealth. The 11th house is the house of gains of one's career as mentioned.
I recently asked K.N. Rao about whether it's true that the 6th lord combining with a dana yoga house lord (1, 2, 5, 9, 11) can bring wealth through 6th house matters like service, healing, conflicts, competition etc. He said 'yes'. The 6th house is also tricky because it's not only an artha trikona house but a dusthana house along with the 8th and 12th, so it can also deny wealth and show obstacles and conflicts. To determine whether it gives or denies wealth we have to look closely at the individual case and see the strength of the planets involved.
The 10th lord in and of itself doesn't represent wealth. It's the house of career and is called a karma sthana or house of our karma or actions. However if the 10th lord combines with a dana yoga house lord it will definitely represent wealth through career and one's actions.

hello Vaughnji,
can concentration of planets in the 6th house & 10th house give weath irrespective of the planets strengths?

Hi Basab,
No, I don't believe so, especially not irrespective of strength. If the 10th lord is strong it certainly will lead to wealth through career especially if it combines with houses 1, 2, 5, 9, 11 or there are other dhana yogas in the chart. Vaughn Paul

Hi Janakshah,
Yes, these are good points. I would just add that the 1st, 5th and 9th should also be seen along with the 2nd and 11th lords and Jupiter. Of course there are other wealth producing yogas like chandra mangala and vasumati yogas too that can create great wealth. Vaughn Paul

Vaughnji,
thanks for the reply. one of my cousins have 4 planets in the 6th house. the planets have formed multiple dhana yoga's in the 6th house. he is quite wealthy, so i was wondering whether the dhana yoga got weak because it has formed in a dusthana house(the 6th house) or the dhana yoga forming in the 6th house an artha trikona supported the dhana yoga and made it more strong? if the dhana yoga had formed in the 8th house or 12th house would it have given the same effect as it is giving in the 6th house as all the three houses i.e. 6th, 8th and 12th are dusthana houses or being in the 6th house it got an advantage over the 8th and 12th house as the 6th house is an artha house?

Dear Astrokinghyd and others,
I want to reply to Astrokinghyd's earlier post.
As you know the houses have many significations. When we're applying the principle of Bhavat Bhavam or house to house relationships it's helpful to think of the people lagnas of those houses. For instance, the 5th house is the house of children, especially the 1st child, so the 6th house is the house of gains for that child being the 2nd from the 5th. Yes, it's the 6th house from the lagna, but it's the 2nd from the 1st child's lagna. The 6th house can be detrimental for the native, but beneficial for other people in his/her life. Another example, K.N. Rao points out that the 6th house is important for the father's career. Why? Because it is the 10th from the 9th house. Does this become a malefic house for the father being the 6th from the lagna? No. Not any more malefic than the 10th house is from the lagna. So, the charts house positions are read from many lagnas. Chandra lagna is the basic alternate lagna, but then there are people lagnas for almost every house - 3rd house siblings, 4th house mother etc. Vaughn Paul
