What does destiny want me to do? Desperete seeking advice!!

Dear members of the board,

I am a 20 year old filmmaker who had plans to direct a feature length movie. I have cast, crew, script, and everything I need. I even had a financial backer. But all of a sudden, the person who was giving our project financial support seemed to pull out at the very last second. I actually believe that this woman was playing with us because she wanted to "pretend" to be someone important when she in fact was not. Even though we weren't scammed or tricked out of anything, I still feel pretty bad about what happened. At this point, I don't know whether to go on and continue finding another investor or simply giving up on filmmaking all together and move on to other things. What should I do? Do I have potential in being successful in a career involving film? Any feedback would greatly aid me.
