My daughter is a libra ascendant with saturn in 8th house along with moon in taurus.jupiter and rahu in gemini.
Venus in cancer.sun in leo.mercury in virgo.mars and ketu in dhanu.gulika is in makara so its bhavanadhipan is saturn which is in 8th house.sukra in gemini is looking at gulika as it is in its 7th house.gulika along with sukra is also in makara rasi in navamsa chart.how all these will affect my child's life.?does yogakaraka effect of saturn get nullified by gulika staying in makara rasi? As gulika is in 7th house from venus what is its effect on her marriage.please do anyone reply
Query on gulika

Her gulika is in sagittarius,in 3rd house with malefics mars-ketu and also under aspect of jupiter and rahu too.so jeeva Karakatwas of 3[siblings]-6th[maternal uncles/aunts] house under harm. gulika is son of saturn with another 2 malefics in 3rd denotes great bravery in accumulating wealth.This combo is equal to 3 ketu's in 3rd house.All 3 are in ketus asterim. It is not connected with her marriage issues.From venus gulika is in 6th and not in 7th.so nothing to worry.
joyd.
joyd.
FYI. The chart ascendant is exactly on the border of Libra and Scorpio.

Hello Anupama ji,
Over the period of time in Prashna, I have been using Gulika a.k.a Mandi a lot to understand about departed souls, filthy places and so on. The usage of Mandi in birth chart is very limited and some time it's a hit or a miss case.
I would say a lot of importance on Mandi in a birth chart is not necessary.
Thank you!

Mandi and Gulika are two different bodies.
Both Mandi and Gulikan are extensively used in Prashna. Shrimaan P.S Iyyer Sahib and Shri.M.R Bhatt have explained their usage. Gurudev Shri.N.E Muthuswami wrote a whole book on the subject. To understand Gulikan and Mandi one has to understand the story of Shani and his birth. Shani has a brother. The word "Jammakola" has special significance which is used by traditional astrologers in remote Tamil Naidu. I do not know whether they understand the real meaning and derivation of the word but its meaning explains why these two positions of a upgraha are different. One is relevant in prashna and another is relevant only in Jatahkam. Sarvarth Chintamani (The original rendering , old one) has some great secrets regarding Gulikan. It is used in time correction in prashna and the lagna can be easily corrected if one knows the position of Mandi in prashna chart. Several ancestoral badhas, devik prakopas, rare secrets, lagnas of progeny etc are all related to position of this planet. We particularly place it first in Pattam (The traditional wooden board with chakra) because of its significance.

@element5
Where I studied Prashna and use it, we consider Mandi as Gulika. Mandi is used to understand the departed souls and filthy place in general in Prashna. I am wondering how you would use Gulika on a chart.
Do you have books or scripts on Gulika and Mandi differentiating so that other Prashna users can learn it?
If you would provide more information on the differences between these two I would glad to learn it!
Thank you!
