Naadam is very profound! The people who've practiced rigorous & vigorously in their previous life can only get it! It's not so easily.
Saint Tyaagaraaja swamy in one of his Kriti says that, Oh my heart, Is there any divine path other than containing the knowledge of Sangeetham to reach God!? In Telugu it goes like Sangeeta Jnaanamu bhakti vinaa sanmaargamu kalade, Manasa!?

Tyaagaraja swamy is a self realized soul! He's considered one of the trinity of carnatic music other being Shyaama shaastri & Mutthu swamy deekshitar.

Tyaagaraaja swamy was a great Shri Raama bhakta, now I'm interested in, what Graha combinations made this great soul to become a Raama bhakta & a singer! He's not just a singer, he composed the songs that he sung! That's why we call them Vaaggeyakaara in Samskrutam! Vaak means our speech geyam means Gaanam (singing), Karta means doer of concerned Karma.

I got his horoscope from Notable horoscopes by Shri B.V. Raman Ji,
It's given that he born on May 4th 1767 at about 12:00 P.M. in Tanjore (It's given that he had Lagnam in Aashlesha-3) So, I've adjusted time to 12:30 P.M.
His 2nd Lord Sun exalted in Kendra! 2nd house contains Jupiter apart from that 2nd house contains Gulika & Mandi. Jupiter aspecting exalted 2nd Lord & Jupiter posited in 2nd house of Vaak (speech) makes one ultimate Singer! It's said that he has received a compendium of Sangeetha shaastram which was taught to Paarvati by Shiva. It was given by Naarada Maharshi to him!

As he's a devotee, I couldn't find the exact reasons in his chart regarding devotion, may be learned members can share their opinion on it. What I feel is Navaamsha Lagna has an aspect from Jupiter from Libra!
As I've read that skills of a native can be ascertained from trines in Navaamsha! As trines are What we possess! What we're blessed with in this life. Trines are Lakshmi sthanaas! So, he has Jupiter & debilitated Sun in 9th house in Navaamsha. 9th house in Navaamsha is a blessing from Guru from one's previous life, there he has Jupiter & Sun. As B.V. Raman Ji mentioned that debilitated Sun hemmed between malefics like Ketu, Mars & Saturn made him undergone intense mental & Spiritual struggle!

So, if someone finds some other combinations we can learn it!

Lagna Lord conjunct with Ketu in watery sign (1st Moksha trikona in Kaalapurusha kundali), Ketu is kaaraka for Moksha & he's conjunct with lagna Lord in Lagna that too in a watery house. So, definitely this conjunction have helped to become a devotee. Yeah, I couldn't recognize it, thanks Swarnim Ji I got it!

The combination also resulted in a difficult childhood and a serious fever (Kujavat Ketu) when he was just five year old.

Oho! I didn't know this, But I know that he had a painful childhood, lost his parents at early age & lost his 1st wife.

True your query applies for a leo asc too with Venus and Saturn relationship. I've learnt Carnatic music for 10years, I have Venus moon in leo lagna,aspected by Saturn in 7th. Even moon, Venus aspected by ketu from 9th devotional singing.

Mars 9th lord in taurys ((Rohini) in 10th aspecting gave fame too.
2nd lord is very important here,it is in 11th , conjunction with asc Lord.
But gulika maandi in 2nd house, i just limited my practice as my Vocal cords are partially damaged, neither I felt that it'll be my career.

I've learnt Carnatic music for 10years, I have Venus moon in leo lagna,aspected by Saturn in 7th.

Lightray, I'm not concluding as such, there should be other combinations that I've already mentioned. Like, We've to see the avastha of 2nd house, 2nd lord & the Grahaas aspecting 2nd Lord & 2nd house should also be seen.

I thought of taking some examples of my favorite singers who treats Singing as a great Karma (profession)!

June 4th 1946 Place: Nellore, time is not known, but I'm going with Leo Ascendant.
None can compete with his versatility! He shows lot of variations (Vinyaasam) while in singing!
2nd Lord Mercury is in 10th house (Kendra) but It's afflicted by nodes & Lagna Lord Sun. But 2nd house contains Jupiter who is the lord of Mantra sthaana & he aspects 2nd Lord Mercury. He also has Saturn Venus conjunction in 11th house. It's in Gemini in his case. Though 2nd lord afflicted by malefic Grahaas, due to Jupiter's involvement in 2nd house & his aspect on 2nd Lord Mercury made him Singer.

2nd lord Moon is in Ascendant. 2nd Lord associated with Malefic Gulika & Maandi, Mars has 8th aspect on 2nd Lord Moon. Exalted Saturn has 10th aspect on 2nd house. But Jupiter is aspecting 2nd Lord Moon from 7th house Sagittarius made her Singer. Here her Ghatika Lagna is in Lagna, HL (Hora Lagna) is in 4th in Virgo. Lagna Lord Mercury is in 10th house. So, all these dual signs are aspected each other (Raashi aspect rule should be used while analyzing GL & HL). So this combination forms Mahaa Yogada which gave her full fame & wealth! Over here all the 3 Grahaas are involved in Mahaa Yogada, i.e., Moon, Mercury, Jupiter.
Apart from that her 5th Lord & 9th Lord are involved in Raashi Parivartana yoga. 9th Lord Aquarius Saturn exalted in Libra & Libra Venus is in Aquarius.

Okay then, I requested not to conclude like that because only one chart cannot be taken as example,lots of charts need to be tested or looked upon. If I'm not wrong even we have revanth, Indian idol in that case has Venus saturn conjunction. Not sure about lagna. Hes flamboyant on stage, probably maybe a moon in leo lagna. With Saturn Venus, Mars in 5th house, aspected by Jupiter in 11th.
But is he a devotional singer?

few refused. P.B.Srinivas , a play back singer flatly refused saying during his younger days,

No words to descibe his versatility! Simply Awesome! He's great carnatic singer. He sang so many songs which was composed by Various Spiritual Vaaggeyakaaraas that incudes Tyaagaraaja swamy's, Mutthu swamy deekshitar avargal compositions & so on.

As your Venus conjunct with 2nd Lord & that too with exalted 2nd lord, it results that you'll have a sweet voice & also good looking face!

Thanks for the compliments. I've been told I have a good face but not good voice (as in for singing). I've never sung actually except in maybe shower

My grandmother is a retired Carnatic music teacher so I wana look at her chart but she doesn't know when she is born. Some arbit date and time has been given in all her official records which she said was created by my grandpa for formality sake. Would have loved to see her chart.

But what you said Jupiter in 2nd or aspecting 2nd lord (speech place) is this only true for rasi or Navamsa...cos my Guru sings beautifully and has been trained in music, but has no such placements as you say. Sun and Mercury conjunct in 8th are aspecting the 2nd house (leo) and Saturn is also aspecting the 2nd house, but all this should make her voice sound like a donkey's bray but it's just the exact opposite.

I'll check what your saying with the charts above and also my relative's circle there are plenty of singers. So, let me see.

Mer venus combination is always considered very good and observed in most musicians horoscope.
Then 2nd lord conjunction with venus, lagna lord with venus, jupiter with venus, exalted lagna lord,
sun venus conjunction, 3rd house conjunction of planets and so on.
Anyway, by the way, I have all these, I say with humility.
