Some thoughts that I am jotting down:

1) Are Mars, Rahu, Ketu Saturn always malefic? And Jupiter, Venus, etc always benefic? What I mean is why do astrologers used terms like ‘functional malefic’ or functional benefic’. As I also find that in some charts the natural malefics become perpetually benefic and vice-versa?

2) Ketu in 4th House and the connection with mother? In my chart, Ketu-Rahu is in the 4-10 axis. My maternal side has been quite pleasant in all angles, touch-wood. Also, with Rahu in my 10th career house, most of my higher education and early part of my career had happened in Rahu Mahadasha – that period was quite good without any hiccups.

3) Mars in my 7th House – Most of my exams such as boards or MBA happened during Mars and I got this strong impression that during Mars period I got very strong emotionally and that helped repel any nervous energies.
In the 7th House also - Mercury brings in some about of mental happiness always, visibly in Mercury periods. Though Sun periods have been neutral to depressing.
Similarly, 6th House placed Venus makes me ‘extremely’ – yes I use the word extremely health conscious. I usually invariably go dieting during Venus period coincidentaly. I shed 20 kilos on an extreme diet mid-this-year. Though Venus, I felt, never helped me career-wise despite being YK in my chart.

4) According to Jhora and especially Parashara Light, Moon is favourable (I doubt it). Moon periods have been torturous and turmoil-laden.. Parashara Light also says that I have Akhanda Samrajya yoga – whether that would fructify or not – is a big mystery. However, VRY in my chart has always been effective in my life. I am not such which VRY it is.

5) Finally, retro-Jupiter in Aquarius Lagna – I must add that I have been reading quite of a lot about ‘this’ Jupiter. And so far it extremely unclear. I know it’s an unfavourable placement. But then, towards the end of Rahu Mahadasha, astrologers in Calcutta told me that my Jupiter Mahadasha will be extremely good. Well, it hasn’t been so far. I also have been reading articles that unfavourable-Aquarius-Lagna-Jupiter will definitely give favourable results at later stage of Jupiter Mahadasha. I neither know how true is that nor what does ‘later stage’ mean?
I guess Moon is in Lagna in my D-9 chart.

6) Interestingly, Sade-Sati is upcoming in my chart in 2017. I am bit sceptical about it. Maybe just a coincidence that happened today, but a guy in the coffee shop in my morning who is presently passing through Sade-Sati said if I am wearing a new watch. I told him that it’s an old one and I got it serviced recently. An hour later, my watch stopped working! Also, a couple of times, 2 months ago, I woke up from sleep in the middle of the night with nightmare like some ghosts/demons banging on my head..Scary!!

7) Finally, some wise-cracks here talk about free-will, give gyaan about going for it to get a job and rudimentary enough to conclude that it’s my fault without realizing how hard I have been trying. I want to make these Johnnies know that I only get entertained by their b*s* and frankly I pity them. I pity their basic underdeveloped thought-process and then shamelessly exhibiting their stupidity completely unasked. Sometimes, I give it back to them – I always do that with double impact, if I do, rarely that is.
Also, I am not a big believer of free-will but I personally feel I have always been trying, however, the situations/conditions need to be enabling too.

Your Jupiter in Aquarius is retrogade. Retrogade always give the opposite quality to the general indication of goodness or badness for a planet in a sign.

So one feature of Jupiter in Aquarius is that the goodness slowly builds up in a person's life. But when retrogade the opposite results. Plus the fact that a retrogade planet is strong. You have the picture.

Hi Khoo..
thanx for your reply.

However, mystiques of a retro -jupiter in Aquarius Lagna, that too with high shadbala, is complex.
I think there's lot more to it!

Exactly what i feel. I am mesha lagna with ketu in 4th house and Rahu at 10. My Jupiter is in cancer (Exalted) at retrograde with moon and kethu. I am at end of mercury Dasa, If i look back the best period in my life is during Rahu antardasa and very good ketu . Jupiter period is worst as faced all kind of trouble. Current Saturn period going good.

My observation is that Retrograde Jupiter give bad results in its dashas but the houses aspected by it will prosper and il strong. Any thoughts??
