Drik bala question

Hello all,

Drik bala is said to become negative when a planet is aspected by malefics...

But my mercury for instance only has venus: a benefic aspect (and benefic for my ascendant ) on it. yet jhora gives it a negative drik bala rating.

Sun, recieves aspect of mars(though a friend...so I guess it's positive?) but also rahu/ketu , yet it has a high positive drik bala rating.

my moon is hemmed only by benefics, and no malefic on it, and yet has negative drik rating..

I check charts of my friends and family members who have confirmed birthtimes...and similar questionable ratings show up.
one person has their sun conjunct jupiter for scorpio lagna. no other planet aspects, yet sun has negative drik bala for them in jhora.

strange.


should I just ignore jhora's drik calculation? or... well, how is it calculating these? As it doesn't seem to be based simply on if a positive or negative planet aspects (which is what I read when I google drik bala calculation online).
