Hello All,
I am afraid of certain situations such as traveling in airplanes and underground transport (i.e. underground trains, tunnels). I have some level of anxiety problems in these situations because of which I avoid these travel modes or have to take medicines for such situations.
What gemstone can I wear to improve my courage level and face such situations or at least keep my mind calm? I currently recite Shri Hanuman Chalisa to strengthen my mind power.
Birth details: 4 sep 1983; 00:45 hrs; Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
I am currently wearing an emerald ring of 5 carats in my left hand pinky (smallest) finger.

You can wear Moonstone wiz substitute of Pearl, I advice you to wear moonstone(above 8 rattis) in ring finger, Pearl should not be weared as it is a maraka stone.

But if the moonstone, like the pearl, is for the moon as well, then how would it make a difference if I wear pearl or moonstone?
Can I wear a ruby (Sun)? Sun is the lord of the third house of courage in my chart, placed in the third house with Venus.
I am wearing an emerald and some people have said mercury and moon don't share a friendly relationship, so should I remove emerald before wearing pearl?

Mercury is LL & 4L in exalted state but debiliated & afflicted by Ketu in navamsa hence loosing its positives. Moon is vargottma wiz is feeble malefic in natal but auspicious in D-9 so it is happy & will cause good.
The main problem of this situation is 6H placement of Ketu & debiliation of 6L Mars will incur troubles from enemies. Sun in own sign is good for courage but will act mostly on physical plane.
You should always opt for Emerald for physique & domestic happiness, but presently try Moonstone for stable & calm mind.

I am already wearing an emerald, which has some inclusions, not perfect gemstone according to vedic recommendations.
Why do you suggest moonstone instead of the pearl, when both of these represent the moon?

Pearl is used mainly when Moon is in own sign or exalted, while Moonstone is used when Moon is weak or is afflicted.
In your case Mars 6L is in neechavastha but gets cancelled out due to kendra from Moon, Mars is a negative planet for Geminis due to ownerships of 6H,11H. Its union with Moon will make disturbance in speech & way of thinking , mood swings, etc.
Your sixth house has exalted Ketu whose actual ruler is Mars so its union with Moon is connecting 6H effects to Moon, so here we can consider that Moon is afflicted by Ketu also through drishti, In this condition we should increase positives of Moon instead of Ketu.
Moonstone is transparent in colour or like a drop of water is used for relaxations & meditations etc. while Pearl gives concentration etc.
