Special talent

Hello,
I have observed that for a special talent to manifest one should have a high shadbala or purna rupa of the said planet. In some of the charts which I observed , when shadbala of a planet like sun was above 600 or the planet showed purna rupa then the person was talented in a special field.
I would like to ask if there are some other special points in chart that would lead to a a high talent in a person.

To put it bluntly - a talent is just a result of two or more planets, a single planet cannot produce any special talent on its own unless its the ascendant lord. Planets form temporary relationships with different house lords in order to give their effects. For ex: lets assume you are a talented civil engineer but you need an opportunity/a place to showcase your talents, so in your chart the 5th lord forms an alliance with the 4L and 10L because without their permission the 5th lord becomes totally useless. So in any chart - the significators and quadrants lords play a very vital role in sealing the destiny of the individual- and if they are afflicted or if their mood is not up to par you can never hope for anything better to come out.

In understanding this concept you'll come to realise that there is no 100% benefic or malefic planet because in reality these planets are forming temporary alliances and reaping something in return, just like we humans do when we form partnerships. Whenever these significators are malefic there will be compromises in the native's life and these are reflected in different areas of life, this is what people call "struggle". This is why Parasara and other equally great astrologers prefer Kendras or Quadrant houses to be stronger, when quadrants are strong you can expect other house lords to fall in line at some level.

while I dont contradict your fact but i have found that if a planet has achieved purna bala then the person is certainly gifted in some way. this means he will someday rise above the rest.In one of the astrology books I had read that purna bala planets give only positive results.

There are many concepts like that. My point was to emphasise the involvement of 2 or more planet. There is one more popular concept called "Ishtala" - when a fast moving planet is behind a slower one (degree wise) in a particular house only then there can be positive outcomes.

well these are general concepts but in practicality for specially talented person one should have planets which are strong not only by shadbala but also by vimshokbala. those plants surely give strength native to sustain struggle.Those person are mostly advanced in their thinking.To have a complete whole some personality their should be even distribution of planets and their karakatatwa in the chart.since planets have a greater role to play in the ultimate psychology so a balance is must between planets to give good results.

Practically speaking, almost everyone has high Vimshopaka bala - these are very basic parameters, they don't give you information on talents.

I would respectfully add that any planet that is stationary or near to stationary in its transit can also show an extreme talent in its particular field.

for example mars stationary at the time of birth can lead to the person being extremely talented at sports or as a military leader. a stationary mercury can show an extreme talent in writing, communication, authorship.
