Does anyone have any unusual phobias or fears that may not have logical explanations?
Freaking out at the sight of giant spiders doesn't count, BTW. Lol.
We might be able to analyze them astrologically (or psychologically) and even come up with solutions.

phobias are a product of week mind or a result of not able to view things correctly. IMO a weak ascendant should contribute phobias.a debilitated moon or a krishna paksha moon may a person feeble minded. a will placed navamsa could also result in phobias.

Could you explain this a little more?
What I actually had in mind was...say, someone's been terribly scared of the sea ever since childhood...and the fear doesn't have an external cause, like drowning, etc....what could create this fear? Past life stuff? Specific planets?

Phobia= Saturn and 8th house. Look at Saturn aspects and look at 8th house.
Look at Relationship Saturn/Moon.

Can be past life issues..check ketu..who has no head to deal with the feelings and instinctive awareness. Can also be some black magic or so on. Clear the aura and put up strong protection. Rahu may afflict the moon.
I would look at enhancing jupiter and moon and maybe seek ganesh and durga support for moons nodes.
