Dear Learned Members,

Since the knowledge on Jaimini script is somewhat hard to obtain and apply...I am starting this thread to post whatever I have on it and my way to make this art easy.

The Jaimini takes on rashi(sign) movement instead of planetary movements like vimshottari

The rashi system is divided into 4 quarters:
1st quarter consists of Aries, Taurus and Gemini
2nd quarter consists of Cancer, Leo and Virgo
3rd quarter consists of Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius
4th quarter consists of Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces

1st and 3rd Quarter are called Odd-Footed ; Similarly 2nd and 4th Quarter are called Even-Footed

How to know the direction of MD progression, as the progress is not constant as in vimshottari :?:

In order to know which direction will the rashi MD progress, one should take a look at the 9H  .
If the sign occupying 9H is Odd-Footed, the direction would be ANTI-CLOCKWISE
If the sign occupying 9H is Even-Footed, the direction would be CLOCKWISE

The period calculation in each MD is another matter....they are not fixed and varies from person to person

Check if the rashi is Even-Footed or Odd-Footed...
for Even-Footed, start counting clockwise from the next rashi(leaving the current one...say if rashi is aries, then count from pisces) till u reach the rashi lord(count the rashi containing the lord as well)

for Odd-Footed, start counting clockwise from the next rashi(leaving the current one...say if rashi is virgo, then count from libra) till u reach the rashi lord(count the rashi containing the lord as well)

 If the lord is in the rashi itself, then the period as 12 yrs
 For dual lord planets(Aquarius and Scorpio)
a) If one of the lord is sitting in the rashi, then count to the next lord
b) If both are sitting in the rashi, then take the period as 12 yrs
c) If both lords are in different planet, then(1) Check which one is sitting with most planets...count to it
If same no. of planets are sitting then check who is sitting with higher Karakas
If no planets are sitting with them, then (2) Check which is getting most aspects by planets
If that is also equal or there are none, then (3) Check which is stronger

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have found that the Even-Foot and Odd-Foot is at times confusing, so when you start to calculate the rashi MDs try these steps

A) Make a cross(likein graph paper...x-axis and y axis extending both sides..+ve & -ve; dont name it though )
B) Make a rough circle through the center
C) Cross(X TYPE) the intersection of the circle and X-Axis...
D) ONE TIME ONLY...Write numbers 1-12 like we do in chart...1,2,3 will be in (-,+) part; 4,5,6 will be in (-,-) part and so on

Now see what we have...each quarter of the circle represents the Quarter of a circle...each number represents the rashi number inside that quarter...Each Quarter and V(of the signX) together show the direction...thus showing effective direction for calculation

ASPECTS OF JAIMINI ASTROLOGY

The rashi aspects or Jaimini Aspects are dependent upon the movability characteristic of the Signs

1) MOVABLE SIGNS.(Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn)

2) FIXED SIGNS.(Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius)

3) DUAL SIGNS.(Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces)

So, following are the aspect rules

A) Fixed signs can only be aspected by Movable signs except the Adjacent Movable Sign.
Like Taurus(Fixed) will be aspected by Cancer, Libra and Capricorn....NOT BY ARIES

B) Movable signs can only be aspected by Fixed signs except the Adjacent Fixed Sign.
Like Aries(Fixed) will be aspected by Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius....NOT BY TAURUS

C) Dual signs are aspected by dual signs only

Very informative article lifeline. Jaimini char-dasha is indeed very interesting area. I am also studying it.

Request you to please post your detailed views regarding the next step - i.e. applying the theory you explained to actual charts and making predictions.

Thank You.

If I am running the dasa of say Aries, then will I also be running the specified meanings given by the house position of Aries in a divisional chart?

How do you read the Char dasa in divisional charts, are they calculated separately or do they run the order from the rasi chart?

Try observing Aries sign with respect to lagna, AL...also see the taking Aries as lagna...

While I havent understood the meaning of sign dashas clearly...I am trying to find there common aspects...

Like Sagittarius is known to bring ups and downs in the life...(it is a common fact)
I am trying to validate whether Aries AD bring a turn over in life....sort of changes the life in major way...important decision are taken by the person or others that change the current status or beliefs of the person

Similarly, though I havent tested this one...I have found that Capricorn AD opens up unexplored boundaries (materialistic)...

@mycallwahere; Strictly speaking as per jaimini paddhathi, one cannot interpolate/correlate with natal charts bcoz his design is based on rasis&karakas as the order of longitudes. His various dasa like sthira dasa/varnada dasa/chara dasa etc only can be made use of.Also it is cited nadiamsa based chara dasa is the correct one.

I see, but I am still confused about your answer

If I run an aries dasha, will all the qualities of aries occur, from each divisional chart?
or
is each divisional charts dasha sequence calculated individually?

Sorry bout that

@mycallwahere; No confusion.Jaimini dasa systems can't be made use of with D charts. They are meant for ashtodari/udu dasa.Further D charts are to be augmented with natal charts.Jaimini karakas are
to be interpreted with jaimini dasas.
