Do retrograde planets Give effects of the house previous to it as well the house its posited in?is a retrograde malefic any good?

weather it is good or bad depends on position and acpecta and many other thingsbutthey they do effect the previous house also

the retrograde planet is alway good as he gets different motion strength..
I was going through phaldeepika yesterday in it they states that if a planet gets retrograde he get strength equal to when he sits in his own house..when a planet is vargottama and retrograde he gives result of his exaltation!!.,
But u have to see if aretrograde planet is benific or malific to judge his overall results..
