Bill Gate's D-11 to continue what I posted earlier, has Sun and Saturn exchanging signs on the 5th-11th axis with Sun in the 5th (Sun also the natural ruler of the 5th) and Saturn in the 11th (Saturn also the natural ruler of the 11th). This means all the goodness of this exchange which is banked into the natural ruler of the respective Bhava and being placed in that Bhava, It distributes what it gains further onto that same Bhava!

Hi

Next insight......

Arudha Padas do figure prominently in the analysis of the D-11 Rudramsa chart as well.

For example, take my D-11. To go into business or to be an author?

Business is represented by Mercury and the 7th to Mercury. It lies on the 2nd-8th house axis. 2nd house has A6 there. It would deplete my personal resources. Mercury though exalted in the 8th Bhava and ruling 5th Bhava can denote huge gains has A8 there. Not wise to take a chance. (By the way Mercury also comes under the 9th of Jupiter denoting gains and fortune - but still not good enough in my opinion).

On the other look at writing as a prospect. 3rd to Mercury and 5th to Mercury.

3rd to Mercury is Scorpio is on the 10th Bhava with A2 there. This denotes wrting as a career with a stable income denote by A2 on the 10th Bhava. This point is also 11th to Jupiter - the basic point of quintessential gains. Ruler is Mars and Ketu which goes into the 11th Bhava! A5 and A9 are there - great wealth indicators combine with A7 - becomes an instant celebrity.

5th to Mercury goes to the 12th Bhava for foreign countries. My writing is read worldwide by people EVERYWHERE. Jupiter and Saturn there shows my writing makes an impact on others in no small measures. Situated on the 12th Bhava it deals with spiritual, metaphysical matters and also reflections of life, as when one is tired of the hustle and bustle of life, and give thought to the deep issues towards life end - represented by the 12th Bhava. UL and A10 is there. Again it denotes writing as a career. UL usually denotes your mate and occurring in the 12th Bhava it means my writing may even attract a mate for myself. On a mundane level, UL with A10 denotes fame with a human face - good reputation is guaranteed.

Jupiter and Saturn rules all the 11th and 9th places to Sun and Moon dentoing huge wealth. 12th Bhava as a house of loss is overcomed by the Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga of Jupiter and the Vipareet Raja Yoga of Saturn. The only slight advantage is Jupiter is ruling the 2nd Bhava which has a6 there. There may be some spending of money in order to embark in the career path of writing.

Hi

Let's look at my D11 taking the Moon as an Ascendant.

Now all the Dharmic Lords Mercury, Venus and Saturn are in their own signs. Mercury is in the 5th, Saturn is in the 9th and Venus is in the 1st.

Venus ruling the 6th is not considered a handicap as well as discussed under the thread "Counteracting Dusthanas".

Jupiter sits with Saturn on the 9th. This means the 11th lord goes to the 9th which is a Dhana Yoga.

There is also a Lakshmi Yoga. Saturn ruling the 9th in the 9th itself in a trine house. Venus is in its own sign in the Lagna which is a Kendra and a Trine.

Moon ruling 3rd goes to the Ascendant as exalted gives someone who is intelligent and long-live. Venus there with Moon contributes the person's understanding of human relations and aesthetic awareness. However the two planets are sandwiched between two strong malefics the sun in Aires in the 12th and Rahu is Gemini in the 2nd. But the pressure valve is loosened through their dispositorship. Mercury co-rule Gemini and hence disposits Rahu and goes into the 5th of intellect. Sun in Aires is disposited by Mars in the 8th. This contributes much to spirituality since :

(1) 8th is the 9th to the 12th
(2) Mars is in Sagittarius
(3) The dispositor of Mars goes to the 9th
(4) The combination of Jupiter and Saturn in the 9th can confer leadership in spiritual matters. It is also a placement for spearheading in new philosophical thought.

In fact Venus by being placed in its own sign in a non-Dusthana, shwos that the effects of its lordship of the 6th Bhava is non-existent, going by Philadeepika's dictum.

Hi

Now let's see how to interpret the dictum from Phaladeepika that when a planet rules a Dusthana and a non-Dusthana and the planet is placed in the non-Dusthana, the Dusthana which the planet rules the lordship is completely obliterated.

Now what exactly does this mean when we see this in a chart? That is how to interpret this?

Two caveats are in order :

(1) If such a situation occurs, and the planet is retrogading, then we have to consider placing the planet in the previous Bhava and the consequent rulership of the planet of the Dusthana and non-Dusthana Bhavas have to be taken into account, and hence the dictum is not applicable to retrogade planets.

(2) If again and such a situation ccurs, and there is ANOTHER planet placed in the Dusthana, then one can interpret the Dusthanas effects WHOLLY on the OTHER planet placed there, and ignore the lordship of this planet of this Dusthana which is placed in a non-Dusthana in its own sign. Here the dictum is applicable but the recourse is to use the OTHER planet placed in the Dusthana WHOLLY in our prognostication.

Now what to analyse this. Assuming the dictum of Phaladeepika applies but (1) and (2) above does not. In this case, how to interpret in the chart?

Here look at my D-11 taking Moon as the Ascendant. Moon as Ascendant usually we are looking at the mind of the person and the consequent fortune and misfortune he creates for himself as a result of his min.

Notice my Venus in the Ascendant in its own sign Taurus. So the 6th Bhava, a Dusthana which it rules, the lordship effects is not there and hence the dictum from PHaladeepika applies. Venus is not retrogade so (1) does not apply. There is no planets in the 6th Bhava so (2) does not apply. So how do I interpret 6th house matters taking Moon (the mind) as the Ascendant in D-11?

Venus is the planet of enjoyment and luxury. I am always thinking of enjoying myself. My first priority is enjoyment rather than work (of course Rasi chart has a say on mundane affairs as well and this weakness explained here is partially overcomed). Productivity is not my middle name in terms of thinking about how to make things more efficeint, how to make my writings more compact etc. (although I do to a certain extent mabye again due to Rasi chart). I usually am amenable to the first cut of my writing (and is usually good - these are other factors of my chart like my brilliant Mercury).

But basically my mind's first priority is not work, according to D-11 taking Moon as Ascendant and Venus ruling 6th Bhava is in Taurus in the Ascendant with the Moon. Health wise I also always recover. No serious illness. Pretty strong constitution. Enemies hardly obliterate me. The wiles of the mundane world represented by the 6th Bhava hardly corrupt me at all.

I guess only my father knows me best.

So this how one interpet when one meet such a delineation in the chart which satisfies the said Phaladeepika dictum.

The other way to interpret Phaladeepika's dictum above is the sign itself. The planet would solely express the style and the mundane affairs ruled by the sign in which it is in and practically none of the characteristics of the other sign.

To take my Venus in D11 taking Moon as Ascendant again.

Venus in Taurus shows my acquisitiveness, love of luxury, love of wealth, persevering, stoic, stable, practical (I love to study but we have to earn our living so I did not continue my studies to a very high level), like to do finance etc.

On the other hand Libra signifiying repartee, give and take, light heartedness, sense of balance etc. these attributes are very much tone down - but note that my Venus is in Libra in the Navamsa so I do have these attributes but in in the 3rd Bhava, an Apoklima house, so the effects are weak.

Hi

Next insight .....

We know from classics how the lower period's lord relative position to the higher period's lord that are currently operating for the individual, determine how good that particular period is going to be for the individual.

Example in my D-11 next year starting 8th Jan 2012, my Mahadasa and Antardasa would be Saturn-Moon. This is taking Vimsottari Dasa from the Moon in the Rasi chart.

Now Moon is 5th from Saturn, so the period would not be that bad, even though Moon is ruling the 6th Bhava in D-11 denoting enemies. It may even denote enhancement of future prospects through enemies because the Mahadasa is the Ascendant Lord and the lord of 6th Bhava enemies the Moon is 5th from Saturn denoting the future.

So count accordingly from the Mahadasa down to the lower level periods successively and see how each period lord's relative position is in the chart with regards to the period lord just immediately above it.

If the relative position is a (in descending order of goodness) :

Trine - Luck and opportunities
Kendra - Will have an impact on one's life. The 7th positon can spell opposition if strong malefics but weakly placed are involved.
11th (ie. the lower period lord is 11th from the period lord immediately above it) - Tighten the reins to move up otherwise everything would be lost
3rd - Some competition would be involved for you to gain ascendancy
2nd - Some responsibility placed on the higher period lord (ie. the lord just above this period lord under consideration in relative placemetn) resulting sometimes in loss. Otherwise susteanace to the higher period lrod can be envisaged.
Dusthana placements - 6th can denote obstructions and obstacles, 8th can spell death permanently but sometimes can be for the better like Jupiter can denote transformations that give you inordinate gains and Saturn can drag matters to a hilt, 12th can denote that the higher period's lord influence is severely curtailed while this sub-period's lord is holding sway.

Now when we analyse chart it is about the same as the above when we want to get a fell for general placemnets between planets. So if Saturn is 12th to Jupiter, even though 1st to Saturn denote strength and 12th to Jupiter denotes advice with financial implications, generally it is a 2nd-12th relationship with the consequent support and loss connotations thrown into the picture.

But there is ONE ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIN when considering placements instead of analysing period lords operating. What is it?

It is the concept of Argala and this applies especially to the Rasi chart since the Rasi denotes physical being of the person. If the place where he borns does not support his life being, then no other further activities is possible. So take the Ascendant of the Rasi.

See the planet in the Ascendant. Then see the Argala houses 2nd, 4th and 11th from the Ascendant. 2nd gives immediate support, 4th a shelter and permanency and 11th gains for the Ascendant to grow. Planets in the Ascendant manifest as all the resources governed by the planet as karakatwa and functional ruler in the chart are at the command of the individual. The 12th house is also important (to be included as part of the Argala analysis). It shows what was given to the individual in the form of karma in this current life from past life outright FROM BIRTH (unlike say 5th and 9th houses which need to be developed in this current life in order to tap the past karma).

This concept of Argala on the Ascendant or in fact any Bhavas can be applied to any divisional chart as well. So if say D-11 Ascendant has poor Argala support including the 12th Bhava, then predict the person always miss the mark in terms of getting the gains.

Hi

The concept of the period lord's position relative to the immediately higher period lord's position can incorporate specialised planetary significations.

For example taking Vimsottari from the Ascendant in the Rasi chart, I am currently operating

Venus-Rahu

In D-11, Rahu is placed 2nd to Venus.

So obtainment of money is involved - mabye a new job (but job is usually indicated more by 11th to Jupiter). Also the planet Rahu is involved in the 2nd to Venus so we can take it, 2nd to Rahu is also involved. There may be some obstacle before the money is finally obtained. PLEASE NOTE THE 1ST EFFECT 2ND TO VENUS SHOULD BE MUCH HIGHER IN MAGNITUDE THAN THE 2ND TO RAHU.

This concept is one of the most useful. You can tell a lot of what the person is experiencing at the moment based on specialised planetary signification.

Hi

For the above example you can go down to lower levels as explained by me when I introduce the concept.

In fact I am experiencing

Venus-Rahu-Jupiter

So see Jupiter's placement in relation to Rahu.

Also consider the other sign which Rahu rules as well which is Aquarius and see how Aquarius is posited in relation to Venus. It is 10th to Venus so good reputation ensue. (Note you fix Venus and not the Ascendant and thus is not Venus in the 4th to the Ascendant which would be the case if it is Rahu Mahadasa and Venus Antardasa).

Consider also Libra the other sign which Venus rules and see how Rahu is posited in relation to Libra (and NOT Libra in relation to Rahu - there is a difference) and interpret accordingly.

Lastly consider Aquarius position in relation to Libra (both are empty houses, note it is NOT Libra position in relation to Aquarius). This a trine relationship. Some possibilities of future 9th house matters can be obtained which benefit me (Aquarius is on the Ascendant in D11).

So this is how you analyse.

From the concept of Argala above, we can deduce the following :

Take a Bhava A. 2nd to this Bhava let's call it Bhava B. 12th to Bhava A call it Bhava C. It is thus good for Bhava A if the lord of Bhava B goes to Bhava C or the lord of Bhava C goes to Bhava B.

Why?

Let Bhava A be the Ascendant.

if the lord of the 2nd Bhava goes to the 12th Bhava, it means the person's sustenance and support is ensured. Past karma took care of that. If the lord of the 12th Bhava goes to the 2nd Bhava, it means past karma operate strongly in this current lifetime, to provide the person's continual sustenance and support.

Although the above two definitions look similare, they are entirely different. The first definition the support is assured. The second definiton is also assured and at the same time very visibly shown in the current lifetime of the person.

Now what about those Bhavas which do not contain the period lord nor the period lord immediately above the previous lord nor the signs ruled by either of these two lords? How do we analyse these Bhavas during the periods of these two said lords?

For example in D-11 where I am running Venus-Rahu period, how do we analyse Bhavas that contain Aires, Sagittarius etc. which is not Libra, Taurus, Aquarius and gemini and also which do not contain Venus nor Rahu itself? For example my 4th to Venus which denotes transportation has Leo on it. It is the 7th Bhava from the D-11 Ascendant, it does not contain Rahu, does not contain Venus and Leo is not a sign ruled by Venus nor Rahu. So what do we expect issues concerning transportation during this period?

The process for analysing these Bhavas is simple. Just COMBINE the relative position of this Bhava with respect to position of Venus and with respect to position of Rahu and delineate the effects. For example Leo then would be 4th to Venus and 3rd to Rahu. Trnaportation matters would figure prominently during this period like the selling away of the car, perhaps, since 7th Bhava rules trading. The hierachical relationship between the period lord and the immediately higher period lord this consideration is not taken into account in the delineation. Just COMBINE the venus and Rahu effects on the 7th Bhava to D-11 Ascendant.

In the above example on the car, the 7th Bhava in D-11 has Leo on it. The ruler Sun goes to the 3rd which all the more confirm about a strong possibility the car may be sold. Since the Sun is involved and 5th to Sun which is the 7th Bhava and 5th being the 9th to the 9th, shows the initiative to sell the car may be from my father.

Aspects to the 7th Bhava can also be analysed to throw more light on the issue of selling the car away.

This means one can combine the usual astrological analysis of rulership and aspects with the COMBINED specialised planetary specifications (hierachical where the period lords or signs are involved or non-hierachichal otherwise).

Hi

There are two more precepts which I want to introduce to readers here so there are aware of interpreting periods of dasa lord and sub-dasa lord.

FIRST PRECEPT
------------------

A Yogakara or a good Yoga like Lakshmi Yoga defined by 1 planet for certain Ascendant types is more superior than one defined by a combination of more than 1 planet.

For example, in an Aquarius Ascendant, Venus alsone in its own sign define a Lakshmi Yoga. But for a Capricorn Ascendant for example, BOTH Saturn and Venus must be in their own signs with Venus being in Taurus and not Libra because Libra is not overlaying a kendra or trikona, to define a Lakshmi Yoga. The definition for this Lakshm Yoga is taken from Phaladeepika.

Similarly for a Cancer Ascendant for example, Mars alone define a Yogakaraka (here it is not required for Mars to be in its own sign). But for a Libra Ascendant both Moon and Mercury must combine to define a Yogakaraka (9th and 10th lords combine - a kendra and a trine lordship).

Why is 1 planet better than one requiring more than 1 planet?

Because the dasa period for 1 planet should be longer than the periods involving two or more planets. So the person gets to enjoy the respective Yoga more if only 1 planet is required to define the Yoga.

SECOND PRECEPT
---------------------

Now we know the karakatwa properties of a planet is weak in giving effects. But if using the specialised planetary signification of a planet where the 7th of a planet or the 1st of a planet defines an issue or a person or a thing, then the position where the planet is placed standing for the issue or thing or person, the effects would be STRONG.

Thus 7th to Venus defines mate, so 1st to Venus defines mate STRONGLY. Similarly 1st of Mars defines excess, 1st of Sun defines body (here it is not using the Bhavat Bhavam principle but only the 1st position per se), 1st to Mercury defines business, 1st to Jupiter defines social standing, 1st to Saturn defines strength (similar to Sun, here it is not using the Bhavat Bhavam principle, but the only the 1st positon per se).

When such a planet (call it planet A) is operating as a higher level period lord together with another planet operating at a lower level period lord (call it planet B), then just take the planet A as standing for the issue or thing or even and give free hand to planet B for interpretation of finer details regarding the issue or event or thing.

Like in my example of D-11, taking Vimsottari Dasa from the Rasi using the Ascendant, my current period is Venus-Rahu. Earlier on I mention how to interpret this using relative positions where the Bhava Aquarius, Libra, or has Venus or Rahu sitting on it. Other Bhavas just combine Venus and Rahu influnece.

But in addition just fix Venus as mate. Then use Rahu as a free reign round the chart for each Bhava and interpet accordingly to give finer details to what Venus stands for which is the mate. Note this only applies if 1st of Venus or any other planet exammple stands for something. Otherwise one cannot use this method, because karakatwa properties ie. the place where the planet situates standing for those properties are generally weak, like 1st to Jupiter can stand for children but it is better to use 5th to Jupiter. 1st to Jupiter we should use it as standing for social standing.

What if my period had been Rahu-Venus instead of Venus-Rahu? Can we adapt the above method for this inverse period with 1st of Venus standing for mate?

In my D11 case I would just interpret as it is a time when I can control my mate using relative positions because Venus is situated 12th to Rahu and 1st to venus signifies mate and 12th to Rahu signifies tight control. Now Rahu is operating at a higher level and 1st of Rahu don't stand for anything strongly. So this all we can say.

So in general it is better for planets standing for something strongly ie. 1st to that planet to operate a higher period level. Then more delineations can be obtained giving a very colourful period for that person.

I hope readers understand what I am saying above.

Now I have indicated in the second precept above, how to interpret dasa and sub-dasa periods when the dasa lord itself stands for something like mate for venus. Then get the sub-dasa lord to go round the chart and interpret any finer details accordingly.

The other method is to use this planet itself standing for something as an EXTRA THIRD DIMENSION in the analysis using the HIERARCHICAL and COMBINED methods of dasa and sub-dasa lord introduced earlier.

So that's it. I have not stated in all the methods I have introduced to you, which gives more powerful and stronger effects than others comparing in a pairwise fashion. But intelligent readers will be able to guess.

For example in the 1st two paragraphs above, of course the second paragraph method would be more power than the first paragraph method. Similarly hierachical method should be more powerful than the combined method.

Astrology is nothing more than logical thinking together with blessings from the Grace of God.

There is yet another method for analysing dasa and sub-dasa periods. This is the most simple and one that J N Bhasin endorses. He says that the lower level lord normally has a lot of say in the person's period. That is the lower the level of the period lord, the more say it has on what the person would experience. Just like Prahabkaran (from Sanjay Rath camp) says the Bhukti Lord is the one that gives the pleasure or displeasure that the person experiences. All of them of course are referring using the usual astrological analysis and not specialised planetary significations.

We can adapt the specialised planetary significations using what the two above astrologers mention. How? Very simple. I would call this method the INDEPENDENT METHOD.

Now as I was say I have Venus-Rahu as my period. Just interpret Rahu independently using specialised planetary significations and just disregard Venus!

The next question one asks is : how low a level should it be before getting any lower level would defeat the purpose because the period would be TOO SHORT to have any effect. Well it all depends on your preference and whether the event which you are delineating does to fit into a shorter period, something like Murhurtha.

Before I close this post I think I better give some names to methods which I have introduced to analyse periods but which I have yet to give names.

I have talked about the SIGN METHOD a few posts ago. I have also mentioned the USUAL ASTROLOGICAL METHOD. I have talked about the STRONG KARAKATWA METHOD in the post before this and where I said it can be used alone or combine it as an extra third dimention with the HIERACHICAL METHOD or the COMBINED METHOD.

Earlier I analysed my writing using the SIGN METHOD.

I look at Gemini on my 5th Bhava there in D11 which had Rahu there. Let me complete the analysis. Opposite is Sagittarius. It is a fact that one cannot write well unless one is a Dharmic person which is what Sagittarius stand for - the sign opposite to Gemini. In my D11, Mars is in Sagittarius. Mars denote excess and in the house of gains. Further confirmation that writing would give me enormous gains. Mars basically rules my mate and sexual pleasures. My writing gets better and more gainful if I have a mate. The dispositor of Sagittarius, Jupiter goes to the 12th Bhava. Ultimately I realise to write well one has to have keen spiritual balance - what the 12th house stand for. External motivational dependence thus give way to inner spirtiual independence.

Tow additional points on dasa analysis.

(1) In the HIERARCHICAL METHOD, note the initial Mahadasa period always begins with :

Graha A - Graha A

ie. both the Mahadasa and Bhukti lords are the same. Subsequent periods when we get :

Graha A - Graha Ba

and use the HIERARCHICAL METHOD, do not forget that the initial period continues to operate although at a weaker force, since the Mahadasa Lord continues to operate. That is, in subsequent periods, we can take it that :

Graha A - Graha A

continues to operate at a weaker force, even though we are going into :

Graha A - Graha B

(2) The karakatwa acts as a subsidiary check even for the methods just enunciated above. It is of course as seasoned astrologers know, always use as check even when we are analysing functional lordship. Thus if the karakatwa is weak, expect the quantum of effects to be less. Whether it is good or bad depends on whether the Graha concerned is ruling a Dusthana or not and a lot of other factors to be considered in tandem as well like Vipareet Raja Yoga etc. Where the karakatwa is strong, it may even not produce good effects if one is using the specialised planetary signification method - split into various methods listed in the post just before this. But if the karakatwa is weak, expect good or evil effects as the case may be, to be less.

Dear Khoo,

Your posts are so informative and nice to read.

What planetary combinations makes the person falls in situation of "Coma"? Sorry i am digressing the topic.

How to know from chart that person may go in "Coma"?

Hi Anilesh

Coma comes under illness and I actually skip the section on illness in one astrology book I read. Let me get back to you to see if the book touch on that.

But offhand I would say that 12th lord (unconsciousness) should have some association with 6th lord (accidents) and somehow affect the Moon (the mind), Lagna Lord (basic intelligence mover) or Ascendant (seat of intelligence).

Hi

Next insight ...............

Now we know the maturity of houses as follows :

Houses are said to mature at certain times in a person's life also. If a person has a particularly strong or weak house it will show its effect quite obviously during the period of its duration, alongside other more important predictive factors.

9th House Maturity Age (1-24 yrs)
10th House Maturity Age (25 - 26 yrs)
11th House Maturity Age (27 -28 yrs)
12th House Maturity Age (29 - 30 yrs)
1st House Maturity Age (31 - 33 yrs)
2nd House Maturity Age (34 - 36 yrs)
3rd House Maturity Age (37 - 39 yrs)
4th House Maturity Age (40 - 45 yrs)
5th House Maturity Age (46 - 51 yrs)
6th House Maturity Age (52 - 57 yrs)
7th House Maturity Age (58 - 65 yrs)
8th House Maturity Age (66 yrs onwards)

But having said the above, it must be noted that since the 9th supports the Ascendant throughout life (that is the meaning of 9th to a house) and 11th gives gains to the Ascendant since birth (see my post on the 11th), the 9th and 11th houses and by inference, the D9 and D11, operates throughout the life of an individidual.

But D9 besides showing the kind of past karma one will go through in this current life as soon as one is born eg. through being born with certain physical defects or being born in a certain clan, it also shows past karma from the 5th house acted out in this current life together with current karama being experienced. Thus the 9th house gets stronger as one progresses throughout life and so the D9 gets more important as one ages.

Similarly D11 although shows gains since birth, but all attainment of worldy goals and acquisition of material benefits can be gleaned from the 11th house, before one departs from this Earth, and so as life progresses, more and more material goals and objectives are within reach for the individual especially during his middle age, when he has make his successful mark on this Earth. So D11 plays an important part in a person's life during maturity.

Now D9 we know is a weak chart. But D11 is not. Every singel event or goal that is fulfilled, is clearly indicated in D11. Thus D11 can really show a person's fate on Earth. Past sages have notused D11 that much (they could have come out with their own version of D11 if they wanted to and not depend on modern men like Sanjay Rath or B V Raman) but spiritual life was more emphasised in ancient lore, so D11 has never been used in the telling of the fortunes of the Jakarta.

Hi

An insight ..........

I have replied to Anilesh earlier in this thread on foreign travel and staying overseas.

Under the specialised planetary significatin method, 7th to Moon shows living overseas and 1st to Moon shows place of birth. By Bhavat Bhavam principle, 1st is the 7th to 7th, 1st to Moon also shows living overseas.

Thus the position of the Moon in the horoscope, shows 50% of the weightage of living overseas and 100% of the weightage of staying put at the birth place. Some observations follow :

(1) This method is very powerful.

(2) Sometimes people stay overseas because of push factors ie. the conditions in the homeplace is not conducive for growth. But because the signification for staying overseas and birthplace overlaps by 50%, the person does not really make a clean break of anything unfortunate happening in the birth place.

(3) If the 7th to Moon happens to be very good, then one can try living overseas to make a clean break.

(4) Aquarius, sagittarius and Leo Ascendants because Cancer is on a Dusthana, there is some effort involved in establishing oneself since it means that conditions in the birth place, and to a certain extent overseas, is not conductive for growth since Dusthana rules obstacles and impediments for growth.

(5) Taurus Ascendant because Cancer is ruling the 3rd Bhava, shows the person has great fortitude. This is evidenced by most of the members coming to this forum for questions and having a Taurean Ascendant.

(6) The greatest alleviator to the Moon is Venus since Moon is exalted where Venus is situated. But if the Moon rules a Dusthana, make sure Venus is associated with it if Moon is placed in Taurus (ie. Venus is in Taurus itself) otherwise as we know, the Dusthana effects get strong as well. Mutual aspects between Moon and Venus or any sambandha relationship between them is also good. This aspect promotes both wealth and marriage.

This goes the same with Moon and Jupiter. This aspect promotes social standing and leadership. As Moon is the general karaka of the masses (the specialised karaka is Saturn), this association with Jupiter also helps to catapult the individual into the limelight in his clan or community.

(7) D-11 can be looked at to see the final outcome of the effects of the Moon. I have an Aquarius Ascendant with the Moon ruling the 6th. But it is associated with Venus in Taurus. Taking Moon as the Ascendant in D-11, I have a Taurean Ascedant. Moon is ruling the 3rd Bhava of fortitude.

Hi

Next insight..........

The 5th Bhava as discussed previously, is less of a "Dawn of Fortune" than the 9th Bhava for the simple fact that 5th is 9th of the 9th but 9th is not only 5th of the 5th, 9th is also 11th of the 11th which is a house of gains per se.

But 5th Bhava is a house of speculative gains. If a planet is PLACED in the 5th Bhava, it is more of an inidcator of speculative gains than the the LORD of the 5th Bhava. Why? Because if a planet is PLACED in the 5th Bhava, it will be subjected directly to the full influnece of the 11th Bhava which is directly opposite to the planet.

So good planets in the 5th Bhava eg. good Yogakaraks, can give speculative gains which is also not the kind of dawn of fortune which J N Bhasin has in mind. Bhasin's dawn of fortune is something which once started, continues to give fortune to the individual in a CONTINUOUS basis ie. throughout the life of the individual.

Still if the speculative gains are huge, then there is no need for the Dawn of Fortune in that sense.

Hi

This next post is for interesting reading.

Now for my D-11 currently what is operating is :

(1) D-11 with Aquarius Ascendant
(2) Moon as Ascendant in Taurus with Venus (**)
(3) Saturn as the Mahadasa Lord in Capricorn with Jupiter, taking Saturn as an Ascendant (taking Vimsottari Dasa from the Moon in Rasi chart)
(4) Venus as the Mahadasa Lord in Taurus (same as ** above), taking Venus as an Ascendant, taking Vimsottari Dasa from the Ascendant in Rasi chart.
(5) Mercury as the next Mahadasa Lord in Virgo, taking Mercury as an Ascendant (taking Vimsottari Dasa from the Moon in Rasi chart)
(6) Sun as the next Mahadasa Lord in Aires, taking Vimsottari Dasa from the Ascendant in Rasic hart. The chart with Sun as Ascendant has not much significance in the following points which I am to describe, so no reference is made for this chart, other than mentioning Sun as the Mahadasa Lord.

Now my Venus Mahadasa is going to hit the following :

(a) Till the end of Venus Mahadasa, the Lakshmi YOga of (1) will be operating.
(b) During Venus-Rahu (currently operating), a Dhana Yoga involving Rahu is operating. Rahu is also placed 2nd to Moon and 2nd to Venus which denotes wealth and money respectively.
(c) During Venus-Jupiter, a Dhana Yoga involving Jupiter is operating. Jupiter gets Neecha Bhanga and the Great Parasara exception and rules the 2nd and 11th Bhavas in D-11 (all the points I am discussing in fact refer to D-11). Here the chart reference is (1).
(d) During Venus- Saturn, a Lakshmi Yoga of (2) will be operating. Saturn also provides a Dhana Yoga of its own by associating with Jupiter taking chart reference (1).
(e) During Venus -Mercury, a Lakshmi Yoga involving (5) is operating. Venus-Mercury also acts as a Dhana Yoga taking chart reference (1). And for a short period during Venus-Mercury, there is a Lakshmi Yoga involving (3) ie. before (5) takes over.
(f) Saturn-Rahu there is a Dhana Yoga in (1) as well where trinal lords are involved.
(g) Saturn-Jupiter there is a Dhana Yoga in (1) where trinal and 2nd and 11th lords are involved.
(h) For (6) Sun as 12th to Venus and 11th to Rahu gives general prosperity and inordinate gains respectively - remember here I am talking about D-11 throughout.

Also anything involving (2) operates in double force if (4) is also operating.

Actually under (5) above with Mercury as the Mahadasa lord, throughout Mercury's dasa there is a dhana yoga operating under (2) where Mercury rules both the 2nd and the 5th Bhavas.

Hi

Some observation ..........

Water planets give fertility. But may not lead to happiness because what is then sprouted (grown) does not bear fruits for eating. You may have all the riches in the world, governed by Moon and Venus the water planets, but unless Jupiter aspects or assoicates, it is not life sustaining - Jupiter governs happiness, fruits, a good life in general. Good life is one that is satisfying, something one savours to the fullest. Moon governing the nectar of life does give some savouring but that is at the point of partaking of the pleasures. Jupiter gives us the even keel to set the rhythmic pace of life in a manner, that we can enjoy our overall life to the fullest.

Let's seet my D11.

Moon is with Venus in Kendras the only two planets and both are in digbala. Moon is exalted (although to be exact Moon is only exalted from 0 to 3 degrees in Taurus) and Venus is in its own sign. Thus only two natural benefics in kendras. Jupiter trines it, further adding to the happiness, fortune and life sustaining force. Saturn associating with Jupiter gives STRENTH to Jupiter's trine in the background.

Taking Moon as Ascendant in D11 amount much to the same thing in terms of the points above. 1st house is where Venus and the Moon is moving towards the digbala position in the 4th house, so this is the next best placement.
