Maharani, in April 1998 you were having a very difficult transit of Saturn in its debilitation sign conjunct your 10th house ruler and in the 10th house. I think that would have to be considered along with the dasa period and would actually be all the more significant since it was a malefic conjunction with the dasa ruler itself. Saturn also retrograded back to within 2 degrees of Mars by Dec 1998/Jan 1999 and during the course of 1998 was never more than 9 degrees away from Mars.

Maharaniji,

You said: It is not sufficient to say vimshottari is the king of dasas, so it MUST be right. In this case it was wrong. Mars as my yogakaraka would have been expected to give better results.

I felt like laughing after reading your comment. And you know why I felt like laughing? It's because you started doubting the vimshottari dasha, and astrology as well, when it was my knowledge in astrology which you should have doubted, my predictive skills which you should have doubted. How are you so sure that in your case vimshottari dasha was WRONG--is it because an amateur astrologer (myself), has said that your Mars period should have been very good and it was not so to that extent?

You said: "Well-I dont know how anyone can say being unemployed for a year (1998-1999), as I was, can be considered the "peak of my career". Possibly there is an explanation, but if you have to dig when it should be obvious, something is wrong."

I don't know why you thought it should be obvious for me to find out why you had one year of unemployment in the Mars dasha, in the vimshottari dasha, when you know very well that I am an amateur in astrology? I wonder how you started believing that someone like me, who has very little knowledge in astrology and has declared that here, a couple of days ago, should be able to see very clearly why the Mars period was difficult? What do you think astrology to be, as a subject--easier that finding out what 2+2 equals to?

You said: "Also-facts are facts-if the theory doesnt work, change it to fit the facts-not the other way around."

When you can't fit the theory--without changing them--to the fact, it means just one thing: you have not learned the theory well enough.

Tell me something, if a doctor does a wrong diagnosis of a disease that you may have, will you start questioning medical science or the doctor's ability? I am sure, you will accuse the doctor for that. So, why don't you do the same in case of astrology: question the astrologers predictive skills than the correctness of astrology itself? And here, I am not even a professional astrologer, but an amateur one, and still you have belief in my predictive skills than in astrology, as a subject!

And now coming to your chart, there are many reasons why the period of Mars shouldn't have given, only, good results. Now, you may ask me why I didn't tell you earlier? It's because I didn't analyze your chart in much details earlier.

Mars the 10th lord in your chart is in mutual aspect with Saturn, which is the 8th lord of break in career and it was the Saturn sub-period in the Mars major period that got you the break in career proving once again how damaging the 8th house is in a birth chart. Mars-Saturn in the 4-10 axis in itself is not a good point (though it is not that bad in your chart as they have got positive points) and will cause problems to career, home, mother and peace. Car accidents are also indicated. Mars is also in the star of Ketu, which is in the 12th house of break in career again, so that again indicates the struggles you may have had in career. Mars is in gadanta (0 degree 29 minutes in Aries), so it is one of the reasons you may have had unstable career in that period. I feel, after looking at your chart again, there may have been lots of instability in your career always.

About Rahu period getting you to the peak, and being better than the Mars period, well, wouldn't it be more wise to make that comparison after you have completed the full Rahu period, which is of 18 years?

Hi Soma et al,

Yes-I remember that Shani transit at the time. Timing of my leaving that position was October 98, and I did not start a new position until 12/99.

I do agree with the thought here. There is always something more than astrology that moves things and make big guys really big.

One example is my mother's kundali. She has 3 planets in exalation and one planet in its own house and all are well placed.
When was born her kundali was shown to some astrologers and each of them predicted that she will achieve great heights in this world.
But nothing of that sort happened, though she did well in her life as she is govt school teacher on carried.
