Rahu Alone or Rahu Conjunct with a Planet

Respected Shilpaji,

You had already analyzed my birth chart, but what you say about the effect of Rahu and ketu.

Rahu in the taurus (exalted) and Ketu in Scorpio sharing the house with Mars.

Though i Got my job in the Pratyantar Dasha of Rahu (In Feb 2011), My ketu dasha period was extremely good, i can say golden period of my life.

what you say about the effects, i am curious to know since rahu antardasha period will begin in the next year, how it will affect my career life and is there any chance for foreign visit or not.

Since rahu in the 4th house, saturn in the 9th house (12th lord) and have aspect on the 9th lord venus sitting in the 3rd house aries.

DOB: 29th April 1984, 02:29 Am (Indian Standard Time), Amreli, Gujarat, India.

--moon is placed in the 2nd house
--so Rahu is going to give you siginifcation of the 2nd house the Dhansthan...sources of wealth generation in it's sub-periods.

--Ket is in it's own house along with Ma in it's own house and in the 10th....very well placed especially given the very high amsabala in dasa-varga charts

And as i already told u, that was the golden period of my life, in the sense of being happy with the life.

Also 1 more query, mars is aspecting the rahu in my D1 chart, and ketu-mars conjunction, so there is some dosha or what? since i came to know abt the angarak dosha ?

What's your view abt these?

there are too many Dosha's floating around, angarak may be another name for Manglik...which is a condition but not a dosha.
Mars's conjunction with rahu can be bad...is Mars is weak....look at the conditions at the start of this thread.
strong Mars from the 10th house aspects of the 4th house implies....gains from land/ real estate properties, strong family ties dring the Ma dasa and anatardasas



What's your view abt these?

Ketu can be more destructive if it is inauspiciously positioned in the horoscopes. Ketu destroys the potency of the planet with which it is conjunct making the planet behave in an uncontrollable manner.

I concur with mannu..I am under ketu MD and it has created havoc in my life especially w.r.t Career/income...Incidentally it is placed in the 2nd house of wealth/income thereby creating hurdles in w.r.t the significations of the 2nd house ...Shilpa's points above on ketu are also spot on and very useful

I being beginner in astrology surely know less than Shilpa ji. We consider Ketu as smoke and it makes a person's vision smoky, makes one unable to see things clearly and this way make one do unreasonable things due to lack of clarity. I myself am under Ketu MD so can tell by my experience. It gives aloofness and makes a person introvert to quite an extent and it also gives good intution as well.

--Ra is afflicting the weakened Saturn in the 4th house...likely to create instability situations in home / living condtions. Sat is weakened because of it's placement in the bitter enemy sign of leo

--although Sat is involved in a Parivartana yoga with Sun....the afliction of Sat weakens the yoga.

--in chaturamsa, Ke is afflicting the 4th house conjunct with a debilitated moon.

--Ra and Ke periods may create health isues for mother and general instabilites at home front.

i rechecked and got your horoscope right..here is my read:

--Sa in the 11th is weakend/ aflcited by Rahu, and will cause delays, slow-down in matters relating to 4th/5th and 11th house.

study/academics/ creativity might be hard-wrok for you...and job will deliver your earnings bit-by-bit slowly and not in big jumps.

--Ketu in the 5th might create unrest/ detachment between you and the children in times of it's Dasa and AD when you must do Ket jaap and poojan.
Also it doesn't let the creative side/ special talents in you be expressed properly.

because Ket sits in the Nakshatra of Jup, whihc is the karak for children...therefore the detachment effect may be softened / eased.

ket period will be good for your career as the Nakshatra Lord of Ket is Jup exalted in the 10th house of career.


so in summary Ket is much better for you than Rahu.

Thanks for your reply.Academics and creatvity has always been little too much for me really. I actually have to work real hard to get the desired results.Glad u mentioned only the detachment bit about ketu's roles in 5th. i read sum real horrible things about ketu tenanting 5th house.
I was meaning to go for a MBA, to further my career as i dont feel too satisfied as to what i am doing presently..do u think my planets support me for the same??

that's a good question and I don;t know the answer. We must find some case-studies to determine the behaviour of Ket in Rahu's Nakshatra ( and also vice versa).

my general sense based on the observations of various natives running Ra-Ket dasa or Ket-Ra dasa is that it's not frutiful.

If ketu is in the NK of rahu then ketu will give the effects of where rahu is placed during ketu/rahu dasha...we also have to consider the sign dispositor of both ketu and rahu ...This is the reason why analyzing rahu and ketu is unpredictable ..co-incidentally i have an exchange in nakshtras btwn ketu and rahu...i.e they are in each others NKs

--your son has a pretty good chart with Jup, Sun and Me in their own houses.....making it a pretty strong Rasi chart.

--Rahu is in the 4th house of home/ mother...and sitting in the Nakshatra of Mars....and Mars sits in the 12th house.

So some kind of domestic issues may appear during his Ra MD and antardasa....but not now.

---Ket sits in the 10th house and in the Nakshatra of Mercury whihc is in it's own house.

I think Ket periods will be good for his career when he is old enough. He is running Ket MD now and however good Ket might be, they manifest some health issues.

Do Ketu poojan-Jaap and Mantra in his name on Tuedays.

----Do not be overly worried by what the atsrologers have said..that Ra-Ket and Kaal Sarp etc are causing problems to her and mother.

It sounds like a classic case of astrologers scaring unsuspecting people with names like Kaal Sarp, Ra-Ket.

2 points here:

1) every one has Ra-Ket......as has your son and there is nothing unusually bad happening because of his Ra-Ket

2) Kaal Sarpa Yoga is nothing stated in ancient books nor validated by any modern research.......it's a term that has been coined lately by commercial astrologers to scare people in their vested interest.

what are vested interests?

--some people do it to make money...
--other's with a distroted mindset may just enjoy the pseudo sense of power over other's lives when scared.

do not worry, your sons's charts has more good than bad.....juts do the poojan's as suggested above.
