Hi

The last principle was expounded a lot. Let's move on to the next principle.

Now Saturn always rule a 2nd-12th house pair in a chart. If Saturn is placed in its one of these Bhavas in its own sign, even though it may lift the strength of both Bhavas but because of the 2nd-12th house pair, they suffer due to the fact the 2nd house normally kills the house the previous house and the previous house is the antithesis of the next house ie. nothing of the next house is signified by the previous house.

If one of the pair of houses turn out to be a Dusthana, it may be to the native's benefit as this means the Dusthana house suffer in the sense of being "killed' or its affairs do not materialise. But note if Saturn is placed in its own sign of the non-Dusthana in this case, it only promises the affairs of the non-Dusthana according to Philadeepeka as indicated by Shilpa. The next-to-last statement ie. the 1st statement in this paragraph, applies more to the case when Saturn is not placed in its own sign.

So if Saturn placed in its own signs the bad side-effects can be great eg. when Saturn is placed in one of the Bhavas together with other numerous planets, then we can say bye-bye to the other Bhava ie. the other Bhava interst Saturn even though as co-ruler, Saturn would have no time to take care of it.

Now based on your knowledge of relative positions of houses, I would say Saturn 3rd/4th from the pair of houses it rules is good. One of the houses then becomes Saturn call for action and the other house becomes like a depositor onto house where Saturn is. But in this case Saturn would be in Aires and is debilitated so this must be taken into account.

Another good position would be Saturn 4th/5th from the pair of Saturn houses it rules ie. Saturn in Taurus. In this one Bhava would again be doing the depositing agent and the other would be in atrine where Saturn is ie. Saturn receives good constant support from the Bhava that ir rules.

In this way you can go round the chart to see which is the best place for Saturn from the pair of houses it rules. Take note of the sign Saturn would be and also whether Saturn would fall into a Dusthana, Uppachaya or Trine etc. - all these would have to be entered into calculation.

Complicated? If any qauestions you may ask me.

Warmest Regards
Hock Leong
Dear sir,

1.for Libra lagna saturn is lord of 4th & 5th house. if saturn is posited in 4th house (own house)
will it create problem for 5th house as it has gone to 12th from 5th house .will it create problem
for childern , education etc. or it will be good for both 4th & 5th house being in own house & strong

2. what will happen if it is in constellation(Nakshtra of enemy)

3. what will happen if in navamsha saturn is placed in Leo sign whose lord sun is enemy

Does it mean saturn will not take care of the 4th house in my case?

Hi Dev

Your chart does exemplify the principle to a great extent because you have so many conjunctions of pair of planets lying with Saturn who is in its own sign on the 3rrd. You tend to tackle each situation via logic and prowess rather than using persuasive techniques.

Yet classics praise all Bhavas whose lord is placed in its own sign. So you do have compassion to your llow human being also. It is just a matter for each individual whether it is greater or lesser for such Saturn's placement (ie. in Capricorn) and for such a case where there are so many planets together with Saturn, definitely the balance is tipped in favour of handling problems through logic and prowess.

An intersting sidenote is that if your Aquarius happens to be on a Dusthana house, then there is no doubt about it for such a case that Saturn would just concentrate on it being in Capricorn only. Like in my case.

Hi Chavitarun

I will answer your question in order.

(1) This principle of Saturn in Capricorn leaving out the other house of Aquarius in your case is much less. Something like an exception to the rule. Now the reason why is this so/

Kendra usually are very active places. So they need all the resources all they can get to tackle the high activity that they face. So when Capricorn is in 1st 4th and 10th Bhavas, the exceptions to this rule about Saturn ignoring Aquarius are to be found (Capricorn in 7th like in my case is different as the 8th is a Dusthana so Saturn completely does not rule the 8th at all as expounded Philadeepika).

(2) For Libra Ascendant, Saturn is a Yogakaraka. Although I have often said that a planet's placement in a Nakshatra the effect is very strong, for a Yogakaraka, signs are more important because the effects of ruling both a trine and a kendra swamp the effects of a Nakshatra. In your case the placement of Saturn in its own sign (Saturn could have been in an enemy Nakshatra but not in its own sign) PLUS the fact that it rules 4th and 5th (what was discussed in (1)) contributes overwhelmingly makes the Nakshatra effect negligible.

(3) Your this question is already subsumed in question (2) unless you are telling me the Sun is together wtih Saturn in Navamsha meaning in Rasi chart, Saturna and the Sun are in the same pada in Uttara Ashada. In this case, the good effects of Saturn expounded in (2) is reduced because :

(a) Saturn in combusted.

(b) Saturn is together with Sun in Navamsha and spoils the Sun's dharmic quality in the Navamsa (in fact even though Jupiter is the significator of the 9th karya house, the Sun is more important in Navamsa as it rules things like your soul and your dharma and having the Sun damage here means this current life you may not be doing the things that is destined for your or that you find more than the average difficulty in fulfilling your dharma).

Hi Astro123

See my next post. I have deleted the phrase "in Dusthanas" and leave the original sentence intact.

Sun trine Jupiter ANYWHERE in the chart conduces to making Sun and Jupiter strong in the chart and this can counteract Dusthana effects.

Hi

Next principle ......

Classics do allow taking the 11th Bhava cusp or the 3rd Bhava cusp as the Ascendant.

I usually go for the 11th Bhava cusp as it is a stronger Uppachaya house and it represents gains to the Ascendant. However, if one finds a planet in the 3rd Bhava in its OWN SIGN, then the 3rd Bhava cusp should be taken as a point for the Ascendant in preference to the 11th Bhava.

Why?

Classics usually praise planets in its own sign in the D-3.

Hi Khoo:

Many thanks for your reply. I am happy to hear that from the horse's mouth.
Yes, I agree with your saying about many conjunctions. In fact I had been thinking and analysing those with respect to past events since past few months and I did find a pair involved in doing good things to me like
Sun-mercury, venus-saturn, mercury-venus, jupiter-mars, saturn-mercury and even venus-jupiter.
And even rahu-saturn, rahu-mercury, ketu-mars and so on.
In fact it is the moon who is alone that gives the problems, otherwise the 7 planet combination was helpful most times since there are pairs of friends to support each time a problem was there. Of course there were problems too but there was more support then.

It is nice to know for a case where there are so many planets together with Saturn, definitely the balance is tipped in favour of handling problems through logic and prowess. I totally agree with that.
Saturn has been beneficial to me many times.

An intersting sidenote is that if your Aquarius happens to be on a Dusthana house, then there is no doubt about it for such a case that Saturn would just concentrate on it being in Capricorn only. Like in my case.
Yes, I agree.

Hi Dev

Your Aquarius is not on a Dusthana House. But because of the stellium of planets with Saturn there in Capricorn, the effects of the 4th house where Aquarius sits, the effects are less.

Hi Masud

Your statement about cancellation of Neecha Bhanga via the planet being placed in an exalted Navamsa (or in fact in a good Shatisamsa of D-60 would do as well) require no further extra conditions like having the planet being angular to Moon or Ascendant etc.

Now the Bhanga condition is via a higher divisional chart and this defnitely does not link up with the planet being in a good sign in the Rais and angular to Moon or Ascendant. This linking up back to the Rasi is usually only done when the required linking is obvious like when the planet is combusted in the Rasi chart or when the planet is ruling a Dusthana which would lessen the good effects of a planet in a higher divisional chart.

Hi

Next principle .....

The psychology houses are the 4th, 8th and 12th. All these houses are subservient to the 1st house of personality - what is you see is what you get, the natural house of Aires.

The subservience of the the 4th is shown by the fact that the 4th to the 1st and 1st is the 10th to the 4th. Thus the 4th serves the 1st house. As for the 8th and 12th, the 1st house is placed in a Dusthana position relevvant to the 8th and 12th which destroys the significations of these houses as explained earlier when we talk about Dusthanas.

So the following people generally have no problems with their psychological make-up :

(1) Vargottama Ascendants between D-1 and D-9

(2) Aires Ascendant - where the sign Aires overlays on the Ascendant so that the 1st Bhava becomes very strong even though other Bhavas may have the corresponding correct signs that enhance them like Taurus on the 2nd Bhava, Gemini on the 3rd Bhava etc.

(3) Many planets placed in the 1st Ascendant

(4) The 1st Bhava gets planets which receives a lot of aspects, disposits a lot of other planets etc. then the 1st Bhava becomes powerful also.

For such people, they are powerful. They can accomplish a lot as they are direct, outspoken and what you see is what you get. They are the people who are so action oreinted that they seldom have time to analyse other people's underlying motives. But when they do, they gain incredible insight because the Lagna is a sum of all the attributes of the other Bhavas. Yet their lot is to go forward and not be obstructed through staying in a situation too long or looking back to see what useful lessons they can learn - all these which come under the province of Psychology.

They thrive in industries that re-make themselves often or in environments which are dynamic and need their creative energy and potential to put things right.

Hi

Next principle .......

Navamsa positions brought up to the Rasi can be very strong. If they happen to be trinal lords in the Rasi Chart and then get superimposed on the Rasi's strategic houses like Kendras or Konas, the beneficial effects can be enormous.

Bill Gates Venus and Saturn brought up from the Navamsa, both trinal lords in the Rasi chart, get placed in the Ascendant! No wonder he is world famous!

Mahatma Gandhi Mercury and Saturn brought up from the Navamsa, borth rinal lords in the Rasi chart, get placed in the 4th Bhava, the house of the masses. He is synonymous with a man for the masses of India for attaining full democracy from the British. 4th Bhava rules the masses.

Hi

Let's see a kind of Dhana Yoga in my chart using the technique of bringing up the postions of the trinal lords of the rasi Chart, Mars and Jupiter, from the Navamsa Chart to the Rasi chart. (I already havve two Lakshmi Yogas by the way as indicated earlier. For this one, I will simply call it Dhana Yoga).

Mars and Jupiter when brought up from the Navamsa to the Rasi goes to the 5th and 9th Bhavas in their own signs of Scorpio and Pisces respectively.

Now Venus ruling the 11th Bhava of gains conjunct Rahu. By trinal aspects, Rahu brings Venus onto the 5th and 9th Bhavas thus overlaying Venus on top of Mars and Jupiter in the 5th and 9th Bhavas respectively. There are thus TWO Dhana Yogas created as a result.

During Rahu's dasa/antardasa, the trinal aspects still persist but Rahu has turned into Moon. The TWO Dhana Yogas then become one in which two trinal lords combining with the lord of Labha Bhava at both the 5th and 9th Bhavas (in the 5th Bhava it will be the Moon+Mars+Venus and in the 9th Bhava it will be the Moon+Jupiter+Venus).

You mean cast your horoscope? I think you can just post your birth details on the forum. If I am too busy to do it (I still have Astro123 and Annilesh relation to look into which they PM to me) then someone in the forum can help you like Dev or even Anilesh.

Hi

Next principle .......

Jupiter in the 10th Bhava is supposed to be the best according to Sukar Nadi. Better than Jupiter in all the other Bhavas whether Kendras, Konas or the 11th Bhava.

The Delineation
-------------------

Lucky, his karma for example acts will give growth and prosperity, later part of life, will have lots of wealth.

One who has 8 types of growth, determined, expert knowledge, have the accessibility of a luxurious life, fond of foods, high vigour, pleasure through women is rare (this is supposed to be an asset), not good with relatives, clean heart.

Will perform charity which will be remembered forever, helpful to all, fond of good food, famous, likes to have sex during day time, short tempered but changes quickly, lean in the initial stage of life but will become bulky in later stages of life, clarity in thinking.

According to Saptarishis, this is also the best position for an astologer as Jupiter opposition gives the person a clean heart (although I disagree about Jupiter's 100% 7th house aspect myself), trining to 6th Bhava shows he will an attitude of serving others and trining to 2nd Bhava shows he has inner talent for divinatory science and his senses are acute which is good when clients consult him. In the 10th, Jupiter emphasies that the person would act according to Dharma in his approach to and experience in life.

Hi Chavitarun

Sorry, I read wrongly. I thought Saturn was with the Sun and hence I gave the reply as combusted.

Other than the point above, the simplified answers to your question are :

(1) Saturn in the 4th Bhava in Capricorn would not create problems for the 5th Bhava. Saturn need the resources of the 5th Bhava in performing his duties in the 4th Bhava which are important duties as the 4th Bhava is a kendra. Thus the 5th Bhava acts more like the 2nd to Saturn and this fact overrides (or is stronger than) the fact that Saturn is being placed 12th to the 4th Bhava.

(2) Saturn in Leo in Navamsa is not auspicious. Sun should be strong in Navamsa since Sun and Navamsa both govern dharma and Saturn's placement in Leo causes Sun's strength to weaken.
