Please look at my last reading of your chart a couple of pages ago on this thread. I had said your Rahu-Sun and Rahu-Moon will accentuate the 6-12 axis. Add to this Rahu-Mars as well.

This means that the rest of Rahu Mahadasha will keep you on the move and you have to do remedies as I had suggested in that post. Remedies are required not so much for Rahu, but because of the conflicting combinations of Rahu with Sun, Moon and Mars in Antardashas.

Moreover, I told you that Rahu will give you good results in foreign related matters.

Try to stay away from home and work in multinational companies in situations that require travel. It's best for you to stay abroad during Rahu Mahadasha as much as possible.

In current transit, retrograde Mars is in 10th house of career from your Moon sign and it seems this has further accentuated your job problems. Mars will be benefic for your Moon chart in current transit only when it finally reaches your moon sign i.e., on 18th of Oct.

You'll gain more stability in Jupiter Mahadasha.

When Rahu moves in Virgo the 10th house of career in your Moon Chart in July, it will be very good for your career.

Do the remedies as suggested earlier.

Thanks Saindhavi. I agree with your analysis. I am also aware that the I will face headwinds in the remaining Rahu dasa . But I expected that the Jupiter transit to cancer may provide some soothing till May 2015. Because from cancer Jupiter will aspect my 5th and 9th house (from Lagna) . In similar situations earlier I got better offers in no time. I am anxiously waiting how the things will unfold this time.

Transits are seen from the Moon chart, in association with Ascendant and Mahadasha combination running.

Now that Jupiter is direct, it is not the cause behind your present situation. It is rather benefic for you, aspecting your Moon sign in its own house.

Exalted Jupiter will be 8th from your Moon sign from 19th of June onwards, aspecting your 12th house and 4th house. Again, since this is in combination with your Rahu Mahadasha, exalted Jupiter will give you good result only if you stay far from home. Otherwise it may lead to unnecessary expenditure, especially when it goes retrograde.

As I said, your loss of job seems to be more because of retrograde Mars 10th from your Moon sign and the Rahu-Sun combination running.

Since your Rahu is benefic, it will eventually lead to a new job which will be much better for you - provided you don't try to stay close to home. From 12th of July onwards Rahu will be really benefic for your career.

Direct Jupiter 7th from your Moon sign aspecting its own Rashi in 1st house should help you in finding a new job that will be good.

Here are some more transit dates -

Retrograde Mars will go direct in Virgo on 19th of May.

Jupiter will transit into its exaltation sign of Cancer on 18th of June, but will remain in Sandhi from 14th till 22nd of June. From 22nd of June onwards its exaltation effect should be felt in Gochar in Rashi (Moon sign) chart.

Rahu will transit into Virgo on 12th of July, but will remain in Sandhi from 24th of June to 31st of July. Rahu's Virgo transit should give effect from 1st of August in Rashi chart (Moon chart).

However, Rahu's transit through Sandhi may cause problems. This overlaps with Jupiter's exaltation period, hence the counter effects from both Rahu in Sandhi and exalted Jupiter need to be watched.

Mars will re-enter Libra on 13th of July - a day after Rahu leaves Libra. However, Mars will be in Sandhi from 12th of July till 15th of July. Its conjunction effect with retrograde Saturn in Libra should be felt in Moon chart from 16th of July onwards. This will also be the time when Rahu will be in Sandhi, while Jupiter will be exalted.

As a Libran, I've been under the heat for quite long now to be able to distinguish between pleasant and unpleasant With time you get used to it and it all seems pleasant and "normal".

However, with the transits coming up starting next month, I'm a little concerned;mainly because Jupiter would be moving into the sign of Cancer.


I'm listing down my details along with my understanding of my horoscope and I'd appreciate if a learned could address my concerns,please? At the end of this post I'll also write up my experience of these transits (I guess not many major events as such)

My concern, mainly, is that Lord Saturn is transiting in Libra where in my chart it contributes only 1 point according to Ashtakavarga and I'm undergoing my Saddesatti as a Libran. While Lord Jupiter is a great positive point at present according to me but come the transit to sign of Cancer, even Lord Jupiter would contribute only 1 point according to Ashtakavarga and I'll be entering Jup MD - Sat AD from 6th June of this year.
So to sum it up,
Saddesatti with antardasa of Saturn starting soon while it is exalted and contributes only 1 point according to Ashtakavarga
Jupiter exalted in upcoming transit but contributing only 1 point being in 10th H from natal Moon.
And Rahu-Ketu in their Navamsa natal axis. (I'm not sure how or what to make of this though)

With so much happening, how would this period be for me and my family esp in terms of health, my academics (If I get into a good college for MBA-awaiting results of some competitive exams) and in general. I think the heat from sometime in June/July to November until Lord Saturn moves in to Scorpio might be too intense for me. Is there any benefic factor?


My experiences / observances
I can provide a detailed experience since the onset of the second phase of Saddesatti if that would help somebody with their research or anything so let me know but until then I'll keep it short and focus on the last few months only.
In a nutshell, the onset of the second phase of Saddesatti was akin to an onslaught on the emotional front. I was usually distressed throughout with almost all those who I thought were close and would help me when I'd need it turning their back on me without any remorse for most of the part. Come Jupiter MD, I was happier within,a sense of satisfaction and desire to propel in my final year academics. I also attained new heights of popularity at college, university and at workplace during this time. One major setback in academics was when Lord Rahu entered sign of Libra. This setback still makes the after effects felt.

As for now, I quit my job at the end of November with a leading MNC to focus on higher studies. Appeared for an exam in December but it was bad. I was unprepared though. An old romantic interest which was very well until October-November was now almost lost. January came with lot of mental agony. The interest was completely lost. This month, however, saw rise in some spiritual activites like visiting temples and Gurudwaras almost regularly. This continued. Second half of February saw some reconciliation with my interest which was only temporary and until end of March where I see it lost permanently. I also had a competitive exam in the last week of February and the results of the same were out in March and they're just ok. Nothing great but yet not bad. I've my hopes for admission pinned to these results if the exam which I gave in mid March don't yield good results. Results out sometime after mid April.

All in all, starting January, I'd sum it up as period of disillusionment. It attracted me to spiritual activities. Brought little clarity as well. It started with a big setback in love life but the same I see now as something that happened for the best. Interest/performance in academics, however seems to have declined although the desire for higher studies and success hasn't changed. Also, starting mid Feb, particularly March I've had a steep rise in interest for weight training and gym. I took it up at start of Mrach but for a week now, haven't been able to keep up at all. Not many major events in this period yet a profound change in my outlook of life and people apart from the growing interest in visiting holy places/reading books and in losing weight/maintaining self.

Hi Kunal,

I remember seeing your chart earlier and telling you about Ketu obstructing your relationships. Since this placement is in your Ascendant chart, it may have effect from time to time throughout life.

I looked at your Mahadasha combination running in the period 2013-14 till now. From what you say, it looks like in the first half of 2013 you faced problems in academics but the bulk of your problems occurred since November onwards.

Here the Ashtakavarga points are not so important as the placements of planets in transit and in Ascendant chart and your Mahadasha combination running.

Now, your Jupiter-Jupiter has been running throughout this period, hence Jupiter's transit is very important here. Within this period, you were running Ketu Pratyantar from 26th of March to 11th of May in 2013. As I said, Ketu is malefic in your chart and its phases can cause problems in all aspects of life.

From 7th of Nov till 6th of March this year, Jupiter was retrograde and caused many problems for people with Libra or Capricorn Moon signs. In your Moon chart, Jupiter aspects your Libra Moon sign in current transit. A retrograde Jupiter aspecting 1st and 5th houses in Moon chart can cause the kind of problems you have described.

This was complicated by a retrograde Mars conjunct with retrograde Saturn in Sandhi in Libra during February. From 1st of Jan to 14th of Feb you were also running Mars Pratyantar within Jupiter-Jupiter.

Saturn came out of Sandhi only recently and Mars has finally left Libra now hence, now your situation should improve from 19th of May when Mars becomes direct.

From 14th of Feb till 12th of June you are also running Rahu Pratyantar and you need to be extra careful in this period about the decisions you take and the way you react to situations.

When Jupiter becomes exalted, you should do well in career and academics, but you need to be careful of Mars transits in Libra conjuncting Saturn and Saturn transit in Scorpio from 2nd Nov onwards.

Yes, I'd elaborated problems on relation front in Rahu MD thread that I believe you'd started. It's actually the same girl even now but I think it's all over with her and I feel a lot better now. Like out of some shackles. I want to thank you again for all the help then.However, she isn't my concern now.
2013 was a good year overall on all fronts for most of the times except the last couple of months,November and December more so.2012 was rather a big mess especially as far as academics are concerned again more so towards to end of the year.


I'm a little worried about the time coming up for me from June to December.

Isn't Ashtakavarga > transits? For in transits we just read positions of all planets from either or both Moon and ascendant but in Ashtakavarga the positions and results are considered for each planet from each planet. I may stand to be corrected yet from what I heard from local astrologers and those on TV these days that Lord Saturn wouldn't really be bad for Librans as it gets exalted in Libra but that's not how it worked out for me. I noticed that Lord Saturn contributes just one point there in my chart. I looked back and Rahu MD Saturn AD was arguably the best time I've had in my life on all fronts. Also, noticing previous Saturn PD ,they're just ok. This time it was really different. Also 2013 was perhaps the next best period I've had after 2000-2001 though nowhere as close or maybe I'm just biased for some reason. Lord Jupiter is contributing very well in the current transit.

I follow this order
Natal Charts > Dasa > Transits (For sometime now Ashtakavarga over just transits) I don't know where to put in return charts like TP and Tajaka. Probably after Dasa and before transits.

March 2013 - May 2013
I was staying at ISKCON with family as a get away. This is the best time of the year for me cause of the serenity at the temple. By chance I got to meet the Director of Bits Pillani there who seemed to be impressed with the final year project that I was to submit at the university and he invited me to his lecture about how Science and Bhagvad Gita. I think the topic was cause and effects and how we believe mundane things to be the cause for events while they are not. I can't forget the day also because he insisted I traveled to the venue with him in his car which I did. . A good experience on the way with them IITians and MS guys with a deep knowledge and understanding of the holy Gita.(there were others too in the car, his disciples from what I could make out)

April, was this final year presentation in college. It was University level. I, not only topped at the college (Highest marks ever and so far - a record at my college) but also at the university.

End of May, I joined Nokia. First job after graduation. Interviews happened from Feb to April. I don't remember the dates for each of them so I don't know how they overlap with this period but I was selected for almost all of them and also bagged the highest offer at the campus with just one more guy though we both dropped the offer later. My reason was that I didn't want to move to Bangalore as I'd in my mind that I want to pursue higher studies here.

That was that period and it still surprises me. Only way I justify it is the Guru MD Guru AD with Guru exceptionally powerful for me as per Ashtakavarga. I'd like somebody show it to me from a different angle though . That'd broaden my knowledge.

I'd the exact same logic that you gave for this period. Retorgrade Jupiter first and then Mars dasa with its transit starting Jan and until sometime in Feb. But I was wondering if retrogression could be so harmful and I didn't know that retrograde Jupiter aspecting Moon in fifth in transit can cause these. Left my job, bad results in exams, problems in relation, mental agony, problems with friends, misunderstandings etc. However, inclining towards spirituality which seemed an effect of this period helped me a lot and I could understand the disillusionment. I think a period to show whats what which is good rather. Don't you think ?

Now and future
I will have to take some important decisions regarding my academics very soon and that would shape my career. It's a great concern. I don't want to take more wrong decisions. So far I want to go with MBA Here is what I see
Two major planets - Jupiter and Saturn contribute just one point in transit.
Both exalted. I interpret this as nothing to stop them from giving their results which may not be good considering their position and contribution.
I'll be running Jup MD and Sat AD. Gives them even more control.

Seems doomsday to me.

I think that things would settle down a bit when Lord Saturn moves into Scorpio. Again, maybe it would bring lot of expenses? and then finally after 13 months Lord Jupiter over Natal Jupiter. Maybe some relief then ?

Hi Kunal,

First, your astrological sequence is fine.

Second, you have said that 2013 till October was very good for you. Problems began only in November. This testifies that exalted Saturn + Rahu in Libra have been good for you. The problems from November onwards were because of transits as I explained above.

It came to me as a surprise too that the period of retrograde Jupiter should bring so many problems, especially when Jupiter is a benefic planet. This is why I began to study experiences from people from November onwards. It seems not much is known about retrograde Jupiter and we need to study this aspect more. So far it does appear to me that retrograde Jupiter has brought a lot of problems in many people's lives.

As for your coming decisions, I feel Jupiter should give you a very good result. Saturn in Scorpio from Moon will be 2nd and hence, may cause financial loss, throat and eye problems and health problems to family members from 2nd Nov onwards. However, exalted Jupiter will aspect Saturn, hence yellow sapphire should help you against the onslaught of Saturn.

As for Ashtakavarga, the primary chart is always Ascendant, followed by Mahadasha combination running followed by the transits. Even if we take Ashtakavarga as overriding the Moon chart Gochar, it cannot override the Ascendant chart and Mahadasha combination running. In your Ascendant chart, both Jupiter and Saturn are well-placed and hence, Ashtakavarga can't override them. But the Scorpio Saturn may modify the gains that you get from Ascendant.

You can take the Ashtakavarga in this context - modifying the strength of Ascendant chart, not overriding it.

You can see your Ashtakavarga points in relation to past transits for a few years and see how this has played out in the past. This will help you to understand to what extent Ashtakavarga points are modifying your Ascendant chart.

About the Ketu period experiences you have described, staying in a mystical organisation for a prolonged period is signified by Ketu, who takes a person away from materialism and towards mysticism away from the material world. So, this is in line with your Ketu Pratyantar. Of course, Jupiter-Jupiter also had effect and hence you did well in academics.

As for your going into MBA, Rahu in Lagna in Ascendant and also in transit in Libra Moon sign with exalted Saturn is ideal for MBA.

In July Rahu will shift to Virgo 12th from your Moon sign. This may accentuate your expenditure when combined with Saturn in Scorpio.

One way to mitigate this is to travel, stay away from home and go abroad if possible. Rahu signifies travel and distant lands. Hence, it may help you in this direction.

Yes, your explanation of transits makes sense. It really cleared a lot of things. There's one thing though that I mentioned in the original post. 2012 was bad more so with the advent of Rahu in Libra. I failed at the first University exams of the final year only to later find out that it was a case of carelessness in checking and cleared in revaluation. Marks were simply not awarded for the correct answers as could be made out from the photocopies of the answer book. Unnecessary tension and expenditure with delay in results and all this due to an illusion - typical of Lord Rahu ? I guess yes. The after effects still haunt me as the mark sheet published initially was incorrect and now the convocation. Some of my friends are of the mind that if I don't get the correct convocation before my MBA admissions then I'll have to wait another year and my college office staff says they have no clue as the university is messed up lol.Well anyway

I can confirm the Retrograde Jupiter causing problems as I've been noticing it for 3 years now. This is third year. Yet I've a hard time digesting the fact. The first time, I remember, I couldn't just justify. And I didn't think I could rely on my observations. Next year, i.e. last year my doubts strengthened and yet I thought that it must be Saddesatti or perhaps something i don't know of. Now, this time, and with your similar observation, I agree that we need a lot of work on this. I just wish there were groups or meet ups to collaborate on such things like they've in the west for about every hobby/interest/profession.

I'm still skeptical about Jupiter's coming transit. For Saturn, I've noticed that it has always delivered better than expected so far. I was attributing this to the IshtaPhalaa. I didn't rely on this concept until I saw it work wonderfully for one chart I've along with my own for Saturn and Venus periods. Yet with my very limited knowledge I could be terribly wrong.

Ketu periods push me towards spirituality, yes. I think it does that to everybody and the more we let it happen the better are the results cause that's how it has been for me. So far, no complains if I think about how it drives away the illusions that we live in.

I want to travel abroad. But knowing my circumstances, I doubt it's happening anytime soon. Same for within country minus the fact that I'm not inclined to travel within India.Right since March 2013 ,I've had just too many chances to travel within India for job and now perhaps for academics but I don't want to. Practically,it won't work well for me as it'd increase my expenses and add some extra chores. Talking of expenses, yes I'm planning to take an educational loan. I hope to be able to repay it after I get a good job after completing the studies. If all goes smooth.

For 2012 problems around the time Rahu came into Libra, Rahu was actually in Sandhi till 1st week of February 2013.

Hence, Rahu's benefic effect of Libra for people in whose Moon chart Libra house falls in a good position began only from February onwards.

As I wrote in my post above, if there is a planet in Sandhi in any sign, then it gives undue stress to that sign even if the planet is benefic for the sign. Rahu in Sandhi would certainly cause problems. This is why I have given Sandhi dates for transits of next few months.

When you are calculating transit effects, it is important to calculate the Sandhi dates of transits as well.

I think most of exalted Jupiter's energy will go in containing the Scorpio Saturn for you. But beware that Jupiter is going retrograde again from 8th of December this year to 8th of April next year - we have to see how this plays out against Scorpio Saturn whom retrograde exalted Jupiter will be aspecting.

Saturn too will be retrograde from March 14th to 1st of August in Scorpio. So, from 14th of March next year to 8th of April both Jupiter and Saturn will be retrograde.

I've quoted the transit dates you gave in an attempt to keep them "floating still as they'll be useful for long time to many.
I'll pay attention to these transit sandhi dates from now. I only knew of the concept of dasa sandhi and I calculate that as 10% of the total time period of current and next dasa. The whole then divided by 2 ,allotting each approximate half to the end of current and start of next dasa. I'm not very sure on the correctness of this method nor I rely on it much cause it just allots to much time to the change. For eg Rahu dasa to Guru dasa comes to about a little over a year and half. Going by that I'm still in dasa sandhi? I don't know. I do remeber reading about it on the forum though. Will have to revisit.

Could you please share (on another thread perhaps) or guide me to a thread (If it has been spoken of) where it's shown how to calculate and even better interpret the results gochar sandhi?

Thank you calculating the dates of retrogression of both planets next year. I really appreciate that. I've noticed that start of Jupiter's retrogression causes me to lose focus on academics. Interest withdraws towards other things. Somehow the circumstances aids the process too. And at the near end of Saturn retrogression, expenses mount unrealistically and unexpectedly draining almost all savings. The end of Jupiter and start of Saturn retrogression don't seem to show significant changes from what I remember of my observations.

I don't know how much Lord Jupiter would contain energy of Lord Saturn for me in that position but I hope that it's right. For now, I'm more concerned still of the immediate transit starting June tagged with the shift in antardasa.

Besides, when I transited from a severe Rahu to Jupiter Mahadasha, I began to get the effects of Jupiter Mahadasha almost immediately.

Delay in the effect of next Mahadasha may be related to several other factors - afflicted, combust, retrograde or in-Sandhi Mahadasha planet, afflicted house where the Mahadasha planet is placed, afflicted house whose lord the Mahadasha planet is and many other factors. But Mahadasha Sandhi cannot be the reason, as far as I can make out.

In your case, Jupiter rules your Lagna and your Lagna is debilitated with Rahu. This can conflict with Jupiter Mahadasha. This is why you need to wear the yellow sapphire.

Gochar Sandhi zone is regarded as 1 degree on both ends of each Rashi (zodiac sign) - i.e., from 29-30 degrees and from 0-1 degree in each Rashi is the Sandhi zone and a planet has to be at less than 29 degrees or at more than 1 degree to be out of Sandhi zone. Your point makes sense that Saturn the slow moving planets gives stronger retrogression effect towards the end of its retrogression, while Jupiter the faster moving benefic planet gives stronger retrogression effect towards the beginning of retrogression and begins to incline towards benefic effect towards the end of retrogression.

Yes, even I'd felt the effects almost immediately. Rather on and off from sometime before it commenced until sometime in to it and I'd initially attributed the on and off to other factors (Though I didn't know that so many exist so feels good to know now). That's why I mentioned above that I don't really rely on it. At most, maybe I'd give 6 months to major shift i.e. MD change but I've to observe that.

Some astrologers here suggested Ruby. They didn't mind yellow Sapphire but mainly stress on remedies for Sun including wearing a Ruby. I think I'll only be able to wear them now when I start earning myself again which I think is far.

Your point makes sense that Saturn the slow moving planets gives stronger retrogression effect towards the end of its retrogression, while Jupiter the faster moving benefic planet gives stronger retrogression effect towards the beginning of retrogression and begins to incline towards benefic effect towards the end of retrogression.

If I may ask, what would really be better for me - MBA in Finance or in Systems (Information Technology). I'm not considering marketing and HR as options as I don't think I'd want to do that for as long as I work. I have background in commerce up till HSC (2 years after my tenth) and then I switched over to Science (BSc IT). I've always been equally interested in Management and IT. I can deal with accounts though I'm lazy with maths and calculations and really uninterested in Economics. Yet finance pays well, I think better than IT and has more jobs here in my city than IT.

I had set finance over IT thinking the same but then I thought I can't leave IT for the love and passion of the subject that I don't know springs from where even though it doesn't pay off well here. I think finance will be a better choice. Just thought I'd get an astrological perspective to it.

Well, studying abroad seems like it'd stay a dream in this incarnation hahaha. I'm planning to apply for an educational loan to study even here. My family doesn't has a problem but circumstances do. For that matter even residing abroad might just remain a dream I feel since I asked some astrologers about it. Even my Rahu dasa didn't give me a chance to leave the country not even for pleasures sake let alone for education or residence. Something(s) in my chart is/are acting as very strong anchors and they are doing their job pretty well.

I haven't felt any good prospects in my life since a long time and especially since April, 2010 i am going through the worst phase of my life... When my ashtama shani period started in July,2011 it was ok for 7 months in the starting but again the position became the same... Now since Saturn will be in Libra upto october, can i expect something better in my jupiter pratyantar dasha in Saturn antar dasha, which will be starting from this month end onwards... Can i expect some better prospects atleast in Venus - mercury dasha or atleast in Sun mahardasha which are about to follow... I am still unmarried too...

There are many problems in your chart. You are running exalted Venus Mahadasha and your Venus is 8th in Lagna chart. Besides, you are running Saturn Antardasha now. Your Saturn is debilitated, with Sun and also in Sandhi. Saturn + Rahu in Libra since the end of 2012 have also been 8th from your Moon sign.

In your Lagna chart, Jupiter is retrograde and Mars is in Sandhi and with Rahu.

All Ketu periods should be good for you. Ketu's Pisces transit and Rahu in Virgo should also be good for you from August onwards. Jupiter's exalted transit should also be good.
