rosey rose ji , A excellent question which needs a through answer . Like kuja dosha , A visha Kanya Yoga exists , and it is a reality . Have no doubts about it . However , we must mould a yoga to suit the times . Please read this carfully . You have to be strict with the formula to derive the yoga , but once you ensure that the yoga exists , have no fear ........ apply it to the maximum to suit the era, the person , and the situation .

Hi Abhishek, Request u to send the details to my PM. Would like to pass it on to my friend. Currently looks like the docs are only experimenting on him. Some times the dosage is so huge, he sleeps the whole day. He is a mental wreck. Became an alcoholic and now extremely spiritual(over the top actually). If its helped u, I would love to pass on the details to him and his family. I must tell you, he excels in his work when he is ok.I know some really good psychiatrists, if you feel I can be of some help do drop a line at my email id. Would be glad if I could help.

about the drugs used to treat mental illness, i don't see how its much different than back in the day when they used to chain patients up we just can't really see these chains
the pharmaceutical companies and doctors dont much seem to care if the person becomes only a shadow
numb beyond belief, not comfortably numb either , and that only the mania is arrested, as long as they dont bother anyone, its "ok"
maybe the chains were better

If you feel its not too intrusive then let me know in pm whether his case is more on depressive side or manic side cos from what you are suggesting it seems he is on valproates.
Also alcohol is contra indicated in BPD treatment.
unsolicited advice: Assuming your friend is FUNCTIONAL enough to do it then,
If his case is more on depressive side of the spectrum, he should NOT do deep meditaions or cooling pranayams (they are contra indicated in clinical depression), rather he should go in for Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Suryabhedi Pranayaams. They would increase the rajas of the system and will help in overcoming introversion of a depressive episode.
Else if his case is more on manic side then deep meditation, and cooling pranayams like ujjai, chandrabhedi, bhramari would help. It will ensure that system adjusts from Rajas to satva to calm down hyper activity of the mind.
Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Suryabhedi should be avoided.
However I repeat they are effective only after medications have rendered you functional.
