Thank you so much for writing this beautiful article . I keep praying to so many gods daily like ganesh , shiva , hanumanji , sitaram, chamumda mata etc etc ....... Sometimes feel very lost .

Sir kindly suggest my ishta devta so that i show my regards and gratitude to all gods and goddesses but put my focus on my ishta devta .

Mantras and slokas are your choice.Now if u read my first post in this thread you will understand what i mean..Actually there are no two ishta devatas...But two devatas ..one for material prosperiy and the other for spiritual upliftment..

The navamsa being the signifactor of dharma which is the first of the 4 purusharthas all normal day to day affairs and problems arising out of them can be solved if prayed to the deity represented by the 12th from atmakaraka in navamsa.


Sir kindly tell me which deity in my chart is represented by the 12th from atmakaraka in navamsa . Is it that every chart has got different deity?

The post is highly educative& intutive . How can a person decide about the Gramdevata & Kuldevata...when the grandfather, father & Son has three differen planets in the D20 chart. Will the three of them have three different Kuldevatas. I am bit confused. Kindly enlighten me.

Hello makni,

Ishta devata is found out from the planet placed in or the lord of the sign , which is 12th the atmakarak in navamsa.
Atmakarak in your chart is mercury placed in gemini. Taurus contains no planet and its lord is Venus. Hence Sri.Lakshmi
is your ishta devata.

The dasa running is that of mercury- AK. The antar of venus just started on March 10 of this year and it is no
wonder, your mind is turning towards Ishta devata.

The worship should be towards cleansing at soul level and should not be for any materialistic growth.
