So 8th does give the clue of one's next life as I mentioned in the other thread, "Next Life, 8th or 10th Bhava".

6th in 8th is similar to 8th in 6th, but in the case of favourability, the results come later, not instantaneous.

6th as you said is a fight (obstacles) or generating (results) house and 8th is a karak (signpost to indicate the progress of the outcome).
So 8th lord in 6th house means a sign is immediately available for you to ponder on upon you fighting and generating results.
On the other hand the 6th lord in 8th means fighting and generating in an enviroment where only signs tell the story (the 8th) and not the evidence of an outcome, means you are more easily led astray initially.
