Hi,

This is something I heard recently- one cannot get married in the month one is born in?
Is there something concrete in our literature about it?

Thanks!

Hi

Muhutra is connecting to those activities which are mundane in nature. Getting married is not mundane. It is a one time activity. But that does not mean that Muhurta does not play a role in the marraige. Because we see Muhutra at the time of getting married. We see the month and we see the time.

But as far as my knowledge goes I have not heard whether a person cannot marry in the month he is born.

Hi Hina
"Madhaveeyam" is one of the best books available in muhoortha gananam.
This book is extensively being used by karala astrologers.

the bride grooms Janma nakshathra can not be taken for the Muhurtha for marriage.
This I am sure.
But janma masa I am not sure, but is forbidden for certain other muhurthas.

It is absolutely true. It is there in Muhurtha Nirnaya paddathi.

Dampathis janma lagna, janma rashi, janma nakshatra, janma maasa, janma vaara-- marriage cannot be done.

If the marriage is done, then couples have to undergo dukha jeevana, provided proper Parihar is done before the marriage.

Let us see what is the phala:-

1) If marriage is done on janma lagna-------the phala is --no bavishya---Parihar is --Gana homa

2) if marriage is done in janma rashi-------udyoga banga----- Shani shanthi

3) if marriage is done on Janma Nakshatra----They will always takes wrong steps in their jeevana--- parihara is Panchadavya Shanthi

4) If done on Janma Vaara--- Ayushya Ksheena--- Ayushya Shanthi

5) If done on Janma Maasa-- Daridratha--- Laxmi-Narayana shanthi

( Since these are petty things , no jyothishi will give much importance to these. Only thing is, if Parihara is done, then u will get the excellent phala. There is no hard and fast rule that marriage cannot be done . For every thing pariahar is there.)

OTHERS FOR UR KNOWLEDGE:-

1) when Ravi is in Mithuna Rashi during Ashada Maasa, or
when Ravi is in Dhanur Maasa during Pushya Maasa, or
When Ravi is in Kanya rashi during Bhadrapada Maasa
The marriage should not be conducted. It is called SHOONYA MAASA Now a days people insists jyothishi that he ( groom ) dont have the time and he wanted ----right now. And also because of the non-avilability of marriage hall , the people dont have much choice to select/choose the timing and date for the marriage.

2) In Adhika Maasa or Kshaya Maasa no marriage is done

3) When Guru and shukra are in Moudya /asthangatha, no marriage is done.

4) Sankramana day, previous day and next day of Sankramana , marriage is not done.

5) If Soorya in Adra Nakshatra. 1st 20 days of the pravesha of Sorrya --vivah, upanayan, devatha pooja cannot be done . If done, ayusha ksheena.

6) 4th born Son to ----------4th, 5th, 6th born Daughter
5th son to -------------------5th daughter
3rd son to -------------------3rd daughter
1st son to --------------------7th daughter
8th son to -------------------7th daughter
-----------------------OR---------------------

If Son is born after 3 daughters were born-------- then girl ( bride ) should not marry that boy

If Daughter is born after 3 sons---------------------then boy ( Groom ) should not marry that girl ( SHOORPA NAKHI )

-------------------OR-----------------------------

Girl was engaged to ur brother
Daughter of ur Guru
Girl was bought only for marriage ( Purchased Girl ) by paying money
Ur fathers younger or elder brothers wifes syster or her children
Ur brother wifes syster
The marriage cannot be done . This is said in DHARMA SINDHU OR NIRNAYA SINDHU MANUSMRITHI GRANTHA

There are lot many to say, but it is difficult to explain in writings.

I just brought to ur notice for ur academic interest and curiosity as none could give the proper answer to ur question.

In this coneection i advise u to buy Dharma Sindhu book to know many sookshmath sookshma vichaar and paddathi with respect to our religion and also study how to see Tara Bala ( parihar, Tara Shanthi paddathi little bit )

I hope i am able to clarifye ur doubt by now

Sorry , i left one very important point,

If a girl is born in Tula Lagna ( dont apply to boys ), marriage or Kanya Dhaan should not be done on FRIDAY. The reason is Shukra is the Lord of 8th and also LAXMI

Thank u

Here is one more point to remember:
If bride/groom are born in Jyestha month or nakshatra than they should not get married in Jyestha month.

It is like this , If a girl is born in in jyesta nakshatra, she should be given to jyesta boy( Eldest son ). Otherwise that girl will show her jyesta thana( I am the boss, i am the eldest so every body should listen to me ) in the family , that may lead to discord and discontent in the (Joint)family.

Jyesta Vichaar;-

If the bride and groom born in Jyesta nakshatra, they should not marry during Jyesta Maasa. It may lead to kalaha or dravya haani.

Jyesta putra and Jyesta puthri should not marry during Jyesta Maasa. It may bring ashubha phala.

Jyesta puthra, Jyesta puthri, Jyesta nakshatra janana, Jyesta Maasa vivah----brings ashubha phala

The above is called Tri- Jyesta and Pancha- Jyesta in Muhurtha

Thanks Explorings
