Hi
Taking into account all the factors above, let's see how Saturn fared when it was in Virgo and forecast its effects in Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius in my chart. Note that in D3, the Lagna Lord is the Moon, so Saturn's transits have a much lesser say to my affairs covered under D3. But it is still a slow moving planet. Also note my Saturn mahadasa is currently operating.
And last but not least, the 3rd and 11th Bhavas are the Jataka's individual houses ie. we can take Ascendant from there. As a result D3 and D11 also receive extra significance because of this factor.
Virgo
D3 - Virgo on the 3rd Bhava
D11 - Virgo on the 8th Bhava
Rasi - Virgo on the 3rd Bhava
So Rasi+D3 - 3rd Bhava emphasised denoting minor difficulties
Rasi+D11 - 3rd and 8th Bhava combination denoting malefic effects
Saturn is strong in Virgo
Result : Difficult Period
Libra
D3- Libra on the 4th Bhava
D11 - Libra on the 9th Bhava
Rasi - Libra on the 4th Bhava
So Rasi+D3 - 4th Bhava emphasised which is auspciious as double Kendra emphasised
Rasi+D11 - 4th and 9th Bhava combination denoting great auspiciousness even though 9th Bhava is only a secondary karya bhava in D11. Also I have a confluence of good specialised planetary significations in my 4th Bhava in Rasi chart.
Saturn is very strong in Libra because it is exalted
Result : A very auspicious period and the effects are storng. It could be stronger if the 4th Bhava is the karya house of D3.
Scorpio
D3 - Scorpio on the 5th Bhava
D11 - Scorpio on the 10th Bhava
Rasi - Scorpio on the 5th Bhava
So Rasi+D3 - 5th Bhava emphasised which is highly auspicious as doble trines emphasised. 5th Bhava is also the secondary karya bhava of D3
Rasi+D11 - 5th and 10th Bhava combination denoting great auspiciousness but note that the effects are middling as the 10th Bhava is not one of the karya houses of D11
Saturn is not well placed in Scorpio. Mars is enemy to Saturn although Saturn is neutral to Mars. In fact Saturn is kindly disposed to Mars because Saturn rules the sign Capricorn where Mars is exalted.
Result : A very auspicious period and the effect is strong. It could be stronger if the 10th Bhava is the karya house of D11. The auspiciousness is also slightly marred by Saturn being not well placed in Scorpio.
Sagittarius
D3 - Sagittarius is on the 6th Bhava which is a malefic house
D11 - Sagittarius is on the 11th Bhava which is the primary karya house of D11
Rasi - Sagittarius is on the 6th Bhava, a malefic house
So Rasi+D3 - 6th Bhava emphasised, an increase of the malefic effects of D6. But the 6th Bhava is not a karya house in D3, so the increase in malefic effects may not be that potent.
Rasi+D11 - a combination of 6th and 11th Bhava. Since 11th is the 6th of the 6th, it would override the 6th in its effects. Moreoever the 11th Bhava is the primary karya of D11.
Saturn is well placed in Sagittarius according to BPHS.
Result : Generally good period, though hard work is involved as the 6th Bhava is doubly emphasised in Rasi and D3.
Warmest Regards
Hock Leong

Hi
And don't forget. Potentially the other secondary karya house to consider in D3 and D11 is the 9th to the primary karya house ie. 11th house for D3 and 7th house for D11.

Hi
Now in the above analysis, I mentioned that Saturn entering into Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius in the forthcoming years is good for me.
To futher confirm the goodness of a transit one also has to make sure the transit impacts on the overall charts of D45, D60 and D9 is good and not untoward effects.
D45 - Libra is on the Ascendant which is good, Scorpio is on 2nd Bhava which is good as it supports the Ascendant of D45 unless afflicted which it is not with the ruler Mars in kendra in the 7th Bhava, Sagittarius is in Uppachaya conjuncting Jupiter (neutal to Saturn) and Mercury (Saturn's friend).
D60 - Libra is on the 8th Bhava which is good for Saturn especially Libra is its sign of exaltation, Scorpio is on the 9th Bhava which is an auspicious Bhava, Sagittarius is on the 10th Bhava Saturn's house which may lead to a downfall but since the ruler of the Bhava (dispositor) is also the ruler of the Ascendant and a natural benefic Jupiter this placement is also good.
D9 - Libra is on the 3rd Bhava an Uppachaya which Saturn does well and Venus, Saturn's best friend is there, Scorpio is on the 4th Bhava whose ruler also happens to be the ruler of the 9th Bhava in the 9th Harmonic chart ie. D9 so Saturn transit there is good even if Mars is his enemy, Sagittarius is on the 5th Bhava another auspicious Bhava and espcially for the Navmsa.
In this way, this further strengthen the prognostication that Saturn transits to Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius in the forthcoming years brings benefits to my chart.
We can also of course consider Rekhas ie. Ashtakavarga positive dots Bindus (here I use Bhasin's terminology and call it Rekhas). By right we should consider Rekhas in ALL divisional charts but let's just ess the Rasi chart.
Saturn has 2, 2, 4 Rekhas in the 4th, 5th and 6th Bhavas in my Rasi chart. The Rekkhas are low but for Sagittarius the Rekkhas are moderate. This factor alone should not hamper too much the other good factors expounded above for Saturn's transit into the said three signs.

Hi
Let's distillate some general principles on transits in divisional charts with regards to the kinds of houses entered into by transit planets, from the above example of Saturn's transits in D3 and D8.
The following is the list of houses in decreasing auspciousness in terms of transits of planets to the house (with (1) being the most auspicious) :
(1) Transits to primary karya house is auspicious. Primary karya house and the planetary significator is fixed for divisional charts D1 to D12. Higher divisional charts the primary karya house and the planetary signficator there is a difference in the opinion amongst astrologers. For example, in this forum it is said that Ketu is the karaka for D60 as it represents past lineage. But other astrologers may say D60 represent higher Dharma or the 9th house so the Sun and Jupiter are the karakas. As another example D16 the karaka for riches and luxury is Jupiter and for vehicles is Venus.
(2) Transits to secondary karya house is auspicious. At a minmum, the secondary karya houses can be obtained using the Bhavat Bhavam principle on the primary karya house as well the 9th house counting from the primary karya house.
(3) Transits to the Lagna of the divisional chart (Lagna of the divisional chart has a large say in natal chart analysis especially for career matters. Transits to the Lagna of Rasi, Navamsa and D10 are highly important. Transits to the Lagna for other divisional charts are less important than the transits to the respective karya houses).
(4) Transits to the angles or trrines to the Lagna of the divisional chart. In this regard, Saturn's transits in angles and Jupiter's transits in trines are important.
(5) Saturn's transits to the 8th of the Lagna of the divisional chart or to any of the karya houses are important for good or bad results. Similarly for the transits 6th thereof in the case of Mars.
(6) Transits of other planets less important because they are fast moving.
(7) Transits of Rahu and Ketu are important when :
(a) They have a special relationship with the karaka of that divisional chart like Rahu conjuncting Venus in D9 or Ketu aspecting Jupiter in D7.
(b) They are the karaka for that divisional chart like Ketu for D12 and D60.

Hi kulu
Dont' forget that the relevant dasa periods must be operating to strengthen the transit effects which I did make reference above.
Of course there will always be relevant smaller periods in effect even if the relevant major periods are not in operation. So you would always have pockets of alignment as indicated in this thread if your natal bodies are properly situated.

hi kulu
I forgot to mention that Saturn's transit into Libra in D11 Sanjay Rath's Rudrumsa last until December 12th 2011 at 5:55 am approximately to the minute.
After which it would enter Scorpio.
So for transits in divisional charts, you can play about with JHora transit button to guage how long it is transitting in each sign of the divisonal chart. The numerical figures which you display in the 1st page to show the longtitudes of planets can be switched to show the longtitude of the respective divisional chart. That's how you know how long the transit of each planet to a particular sign of a particular divisonal chart last.
Saturn's transit to Libra in D3 (Parasara's version) last much longer though.
Warmest Regards

Hi
As an interesting sidenote do you know which house (or Bhava) has the most power over another house (say House A)?
It is actually not the 12th to House A since this would imply the complete absence of House A so there is no misery involving House A - no news is good news!
6th and 8th to House A can damage House A but House A still has some leeway to counteract it eg. involving 6th to House A, House A (the Lagna) can simply fight and take up arms, with respect to 8th to House A, House A (the Lagna) can wait and do a siege on the enemy - see who will eventually overcome the other in a game of patience.
In actual fact it is the 10th to House A. A long time ago, in this forum, it was mentioned that sometimes if the 10th to House A is so strong that House A simploy is kept on its toes and whatever it does or produces is dictated by the whims and fancies of the 10th to House A. House A becomes like a puppet on a string, with the string pulled by the 10th to House A!
Now from the above we know that D11 can counteract the 6th and 12th houses, and D3 can counteract the 8th house. These two divisional charts help to counteract the Dusthans in our lives when the appropriate planet (like not combusted in Rasi, not ruling a Dusthana in Rasi or the said divisional chart) transits into the primary karya house of 3rd and 11th Bavas of the divisional charts D3 and D11 respectively.
(An exception for the rule for ruling Dusthana is when the ruler of the 6th or 12th Bhava in D11 transits into the 11th Bhava or the ruler of the 8th Bhava in D3 transits into the 3rd Bhava as based on Bhavat Bhavam principle, the house which the planet transits into (3rd or 11th as appropriate) can counteract the evil effects.)
By the above logic then, D3 is completely at sea and unable to do any counteraction, when ANY planet goes into the 12th Bhava of D3 because 12th is the 10th to the 3rd Bhava. Similarly, D11 is completely at a loss and unable to protect us when ANY planet transits into the 8th Bhava of D11 since this is the 10th to the 11th Bhava in D11.
See how my Saturn transitting in Virgo is quite deleterious. Virgo is overlaying the 8th Bhava on my D11. The protection afforded by D11 is thus lost. 11th Bhava in D11 becomes beholden to the 8th Bhava in D11 when ANY planet transits into the latter.

Hi
As a matter of fact the 8th Bhava in D11 and the 12th Bhava in D3 also does a side killing of all the secondary karya houses as well.
8th Bhava in D11 is 2nd to 7th Bhava in D11 (this is a secondary karya house of D11 because it is the 9th to the 11th Bhava in D11).
8th Bhava in D11 is 12th to the 9th Bhava in D11 (this is a secondary karya house of D11 because it is the 11th to the 11th Bhava in D11. It is also the 11th of the 11th Bhava in D11 by the Bhavat Bhavam principle).
12th Bhava in D3 is 2nd to the 11th Bhava in D3 (this is a secondary karya house of D3 because it is the 9th to the 3rd Bhava in D3).
12th Bhava in D3 is 12th to the Lagna of D3 (this is a secondary karya house of D3 because it is the 11th to the 3rd Bhava in D3).
12th Bhava in D3 is 8th to the 5th Bhava in D3 (this is a secondary karya house of D3 because it is the 3rd to the 3rd Bhava in D3 by the Bhavat Bhavam principle).

Hi
Now Saturn turns retrogade to Virgo on 16th May 2012 9:00 am and would be in Virgo until 5th Aug 2012 9:00 am (all times are approximate to the minute).
But Jupiter enters Taurus which is on my 11th Bhava in Rasi chart on 17th May 2012 11:30 am.
Why would then Jupiter's transit to Taurus cover my difficult period of Saturn in Virgo during the time window in 2012 above?
Now in Rasi chart, BOTH the 3rd Bhava AND the 11th Bhava receive the sample emphasis unlike D3 or D11 alone. Thus Jupiter entering the 11th Bhava counteracts the Dusthana of the 6th-12th axis. That is the first point.
Second point is that the 11th Bhava is the 9th to the 3rd Bhava and since both the 11th and 3rd Bhava hold good in the Rasi chart, this means Jupiter's transit into the 11th Bhava in Rasi on 17th May helps to counteract the 8th Bhava also BECAUSE
11th Bhava is the 9th to the 3rd Bhava and 3rd Bhava as we discussed earlier counteracts the 8th Bhava by the Bhavat Bhavam principle as 3rd is the 8th of the 8th.
So far so good!
But how about the short period on 16th May 2012 up to 17th May 2012 1130 am when Jupiter is still in Aires and Saturn has already retrogaded back to Virgo?
No worries! During that time, my dasas are :
(A) From the Ascendant the dasa is Venus-Rahu-Saturn-Mercury-Rahu (the sixth period is omitted)
So it includes a combination fo Mercury and Saturn and from my post under "Insights Not Foudn in Classics" I have already mentioned the combination of these two periods' dasas are auspicious for me as they are placed in the 9th Nakshatra or multiples of 9 from the Moon's Nakshatra (the Janma Nakshatra).
Mercury is also fortunate in another sense. It is placed in the 11th Bhava in the Rasi chart and rules the 3rd Bhava!!!
(B) From the Moon the dasa is Saturn-Moon-Rahu-Mercury-Saturn-(the sixth period is omitted)
Again there is a Mercury and Saturn combination so no problem.
How about the next Panopti Yoga?
Will let you know in my next post.
Warmest Regards
Hock Leong

Hi
Okay, Saturn enters Libra again on
5th August 2012 at 9:00 am (approxiamtely to the minute)
Moon is in Aquarius and Moon is thus 2nd to the natal Moon. It is again silver base so my flow of good fortune recommences. sivler base Panopti Yoga is the best as explained above in the article from Cafe Jyotish.

Hi
What about the Panopti Yoga when Saturn retrogades back to Virgo during the interim period :
16th May 2012 at 9:00 am (approxiamtely to the minute)
Moon is in Pisces and Moon is thus 3rd to the natal Moon (Saturn in Virgo). It is copper base so my flow of good fortune is comparatively good, though not as good as the silver base.

Hi
Some corrections to the last 2 posts.
The silver base and copper base remains the same. But the calculation is based on transitting Moon from natal Moon. Nothing to do with Saturn's transitting position.
Earlier post(not the last 2 posts mentioned above) when I talked about Moon in Gemini when Saturn first transits into Libra in my chart ie. the one currently we are having now in November 2011, again it is a silver base based on transitting Moon 5th from natal Moon. Nothing to do with Saturn's transitting position. This post previously I did not amend so I am clarifying it here.

Hello Khoo Hock Leong, I think this period is very pivotal for me, perhaps the most important phase in my life, Saturn-Mars dasha ,kumbha lagna, Retrogade saturn exalted in 9H Libra, conjunct with Mars who is also retrogade, both are within 6 degress, what should I expect?
Dispositor venus is in taurus but is in baala avastha, hemmed by sun & rahu, also saturn isnot in a very impressive position in navamsha, with sun & aspected by its jupiter who is an enemy by way of termporal relationships

Hi
Based on Trish Prividi on the Nakshatras, Spica is found in Chitra and Arcturus is found in Swati.
Based on current observation of longtitude of this two fixed stars, Spica is found in the Virgo portion of Chitra and Arcturus is found in the beginning of Libra.
Therefore whatever it is, Saturn's current transits right up to end of 2012 will be in the vicinity where either Spica or Arcturus is.
These two fixed stars are the MOST FOURTUNATE OF ALL THE FIXED STARS.
Spica's description :
Wealth, fame, honour, glamour, the "Fortunate One". Spica looks like one star, but is actually two, an eclipsing binary in a tight orbit of 4 days. A planet in close conjunction to Spica is protected from the heat of the Via Combusta
Arcturus' description :
Inspiration, riches, fame, honour, popularity, benefits through travel, success through work
And Saturn does well in Virgo and is exalted in Libra. Saturn being the karaka of misery, handicaps etc. is hence downplayed or turned into assets like more forthright in one's deeds, people act more from a higher motive etc as per Vic Di Cara's post in his blog.
This is the most fortunate period of humanity.
People with planets in Chitra or Swati usually lead very successful lives provided the planets are well placed in either Virgo or in Libra (before the end of Swati portion).
