Agreed. The level of academic education in the modern world is expressed as M.S and Ph.D. But my desire to reach the top academic level was not met and to that effect the concerned 2 and 7 planets should have been shown as afflicted in D 24 chart, but they are not. This is where i am trying to get an answer . Your valuable comment pl.

Sir, For the higher qualification of your choice the the of 5L is most prominent, in your case 5L is in 8H[ Research] in rashi chart and in navmansha clearly indicating your interest in research. Your dasha of Mercury the 5L started in June 1963. Your Sun is in the 9H with close conjunction of Saturn the 9L[ Higher edu.] but aspected by the 8L Jupiter[ research], making a rajyoga, it was after May 1954[ Saturn - Sun] may be the time of your first M.Sc admission. Sat-Mars started in December 1956, is in 9H again aspected by 8L Jupiter in rashi chart and by Saturn the 8L in navmansha, and Mars is in 11H aspecting the 5H[ edu.]. Mars is aspecting the 12H in rashi chart may be the time for second M.Sc degree from U.S. Please give the feedback for better learning. Regards anu

I examined my own chart ( 22-1-1932/2.30PM/Chennai) to find out why my ambition to get Ph.D was not fulfilled. In D 1 scope for higher education was found with both 4 and 9 lords placed in 9 in Capri. In D 24 also link was found establised between 4 / 9 , 9 / 2 and 2 / 7 through aspects and/or conjunction. This is true even if you shift the lagna + or - one sign, in case the TOB is incorrect. Still why my desire was not fulfilled ?? However for your information I am double M.Sc holder one in Madras University and the other from US. Is it possible the double PG degree can be conceded for Ph.D because of the strong position/link of the concerned planets

I don't think that chart really recognizes the diffrence between the names of man-made degrees / diplomas.

i think the rationale here is is that 4-->9-->2-->7 houses show "growth" and progression of academic knowledge levels, when which fitted on the modern system loosely translates to basic, and various known advanced degrees. Note these houses are 6th from each other denoting Upachaya or "growth".

As long as there is a progression of academic knowledge....exactly what that degree was called is not so important and hence a second PG from US may well be in lieu of PhD.

also bear in mind this this system of assessing knowldege / academic growth from D24....applied even in ancient times when there were no named degrees.....purely gurukul/ aasharm type Vidya learning systems.

Having a good chart and desire is not enouhg....one has to make every active effort to make it happen.

also it's not only the planets, but the houses also need to be looked at to see the placement of nodal hurdles.

So far my answers were generic....but now that I look at the chart I see...your 2nd house does have the nodes( Ra-Ke) seated in it....that are unaspected by benefics.
Wihc means PG itslef and/ or PG to PhD may have hurdles .
Howver there is association between the 9th and 2nd and 2nd and 7th...which also indicates the possibility to overcome the nodal indicated hurdles.

Can you share what stopped you from doing the PhD, inspite of making every effort to overcome those hurdles.

Sir, Thanks for the feedback. Ketu in the 5H makes the person very logical and he cannot write long answers, just give the very short and pointed reply. It also gives the mathematical ability. Since other factors are also supporting, you must be very good in Maths. Second myth is about Ketu in 5H bad for children. I have many charts in which the children have have done very well in life. In your case 5L though in 8H but aspected by a benefice Moon and exalted in navmansha. Mercury is in the NK of Venus aspected by Moon showing the artistic talent of your children. Looking at the 5th house for academics and especially the placement of Ketu in 5th can you shed some light on the chart below that has Ketu in 5th.

I ask your opinion because you have a very interesting perspective and observation on Ketu in 5th.

Conventional texts state that it causes problems in childbirth and supresses creativity.
However in reality I have not found that to be the case always....and more aligned with your findings.

Ketu in 5th house makes person diplomatic besides being logical, good in Maths & gives interest in technical education .

Shilpaji - She has ber B.S. in accounting and then after she has done CA from USA. We would like to know, the timing of her marriage. We are facing a tough time with all the proposals that are coming as nothing is working out. does she have a yoga to get married? Will it be a successful marriage? 1) Enemies Sa-Ma natural malefics conjunct in the 7th house of Mercury and both singly also innimical in the house of Mercury.


7th house in Rasi bad..causing delays now.....and hardwork-temper driven roller coaster after marriage.

2) The Feb to april 2012 timeframe is a very prospetive one for marriage.

3) pray to shanidev, do til tel arpan/ fasting on saturdays and in respect of Lord Hanuman on tuesdays.

4) Venus the marriage karak is reasonably well placed in Rasi and very strong in Navamsa, where even 7th lord is reasonably well placed.

Rasi chart is delaying marriage now and will continue to cause friction after marriage......Navamsa is good and should pull her throuhg.

I remember the promotion was in 1985 during Ke/Sa period to the top level of GM in a Public Sector organiasation. For your information the entire Mercury Dasa starting from 1963-64 and Ketu mahadasa from 1980 , has been responsible for a very bright period in my official career, including a foreign trip for participation in a reseach group in the year 1979. I retired in 1990 . If you want more information I shall be happy to provide .
