Yes, it does. Because Anuradha says so and his guru is K N Rao and he studied in an astrological college.

Also most of the eminent astrologers in this forum tend to be agreement with that theory.

Then if you analyse my chart, it will go perplexed due to so many retro planets. How to see aspects if someone has retro planets.
For example Sat is retro in Ascendent Then aspect should be

1) By placement in asc Aspects on 3rd house 7th house and 10th house

OR

2) like by placement in 12th house aspects on 2nd house 6th house and 9th house

OR

3) should be consider both (1) and (2)

You should consider both (1) and (2).

I have Saturn retrogade. It works for me by considering previous Bhava as well.

If we take your retro saturn from previous house (saggitarious, jupiter's house) then it aspects on your jupiter which is placed in 8th house (saturn's house) so it will become like parivartana yoga. Would it considered good?

Respected Khoo Sir
I have a Parivartana Yoga between 9 and 11 lord but can the condition of planets involved nullify this yoga?
11 lord is jupitor(retrograde) and 9 lord is venus( in gandanta)
my asc is aquarius
venus in 11house and jup in 2 house
also jup is debilitated in navmansa

Hi Anilesh

Yes, it would be good. That is paravartina with Jupiter and Saturn in 6th aspects my Jupiter. During my dasa/antardasa of Jupiter/Saturn in combination ie. each of this said planets, I usually coast through life quite easily.

The paravartina of Jupiter and Saturn is something like a DOUBLE Vipareet Raja Yoga. Each ruler of the said Dusthanas (6th and 8th Bhava) goes to another Dusthana. In Philadeepika, each kind of Vipareet Raja Yoga has a special name for it and has a special meaning of its own.

Hi

Nex principle ....

Planets that are moving slowly are strong (and that is why retrogade is strong). Those that are stationary are exceptionally strong. Planets that are moving faster than average are very weak. There is an average speed for each planet.

Here are the mean daily speeds of the planets:
• Saturn – 2 minutes 1 second
• Jupiter – 4 minutes 52 seconds
• Mars – 37 minutes
• Sun – 59 minutes 8 seconds
• Venus – 59 minutes 8 seconds
• Mercury – 59 minutes 8 seconds
• Moon – 13 degrees, 10 minutes, 36 seconds

In JHora, just click on the Planetary Speed option, and then you can see whether your planet is moving faster or slower.

Use the longtitude column.

If anybody knows anything about what kinds of things a slow or stationary planet stands for, would like to hear from you.

Hi KHL

you could add rahu and ketu to that list as they spend 18 months in a sign..By and large i think when we analyze transits 4 planets- Saturn ,jupiter ,rahu and ketu are imp planets with Saturn being the most important as he gives results that are of permanent nature

thx

Hi astro123

Yes, that is for transit analysis.

But what does it represent in a birth chart? That is a different question.

But I guess transit and natal chart analysis should be similar. For example, Jupiter stationary in a particular Bhava whether at the time of birth or at a particular point of transit, gives intense luck and sudden gains to that Bhava. This is regardless about Jupiter and Saturn transits which together impact a particular Bhava, a concept which everyone in this forum know.

But in addition to the similarity, stationary planets in natal chart analysis have special meaning on their own. Just like we know Jupiter transiting 2nd to Moon gives no enemies according Ashtakavarga analysis and we can use it also in natal chart analysis. But then Moon in the 12th to Jupiter (which is the same as Jupiter 2nd to Moon) has a separate interpretation in natal chart and the person is like on a wheel of fortune. His luck is never stable. This bad yoga is cancelled if Moon is angular to the Ascendant like in Nehru and in my chart.

So planetary speeds in natal charts, have a spearate interpretation on their own, quite apart from those analyses carried over from transit analyses.

So in summary the following have separate interpretations :

(1) Transits of combinations of slow moving planets

(2) Transits of planets according to their speed at the moment

(3) Transits of planets according to their relative positions to the planets at their radix (birth) positions>

(4) Natal positions of planets which mirror those positions during transits in (3).

(5) Natal speeds of planets of the individual when he is born.

(6) Natal positions where there are Bhavas impacted by more than 1 of the slow moving planets of Rahu, Ketu, Jupiter and saturn.

What we are interested now is whether does anyone has knowledge of (5). For example someone said in the forum Jupiter if moving above average speed in a natal chart, gives rise to a different kind of knowledge.

Hi Anilesh

Under the Longtitude column it states so many degrees per day.

Just convert it to minutes and seconds. So for example :

0.99 degrees per day is

0.99 x 60 minutes per day. Divide by 60 for the result. Quotient is the minutes and the remainder is the seconds. Then compare with the average figure I gave above to see whether it is greater or lesser.

Hi Anilesh

With regards to your earlier question, even relationships between Mercury and Jupiter strengthen the chart considerably, even if a single planet has relationship with Mercury alone OR Jupiter alone, that planet is also strengthened, aside from the consideration of friendliness and enmity of the planets concerned. This is because Mercury and Jupiter gains digbala in the Ascendant and the Ascendant is the pivot of the chart.

How about Sun and Moon, they being the karaka and the backup karaka of the 1st Bhava? They also, but we have discussed that in the earlier posts on Dimba Chakara and Kalachakra. For the lights, the other planets' positions must conform to certain patterns especially in the case of the Sun.

Hi

Next principle .....

If you have planets in the 1st Bhava, you would be more than satisfied with what is indicated by Karakawa of that planet, plus the houses that it rules. Not only that, the satisifaction is continuous throughout life. You can imagine if you have the planet with the North Node in the 1st house, the satisfaction is guaranteed. You just need to click your fingers everytime if you have a need for such a thing ie. your seeking out of the thing would lead to your fulfillment.

Yes, The sun and Rahu (Ak and Amk respectively) placed in first house (tauras navmansha). Moon is with saturn in 9th bhava.

Hi

Next principle .....

Jupiter, if a functional malefic, when placed in the Ascendant, does not lead the person to make firm decisions for himself. He will be addicted to discussing, exploring etc. without rounding up to any firm conclusions. Trinal lords affecting it would mitigate this evil. Trusting would be difficult for such a person.

As Jupiter has to do with Pisces (and Neptune) the most watery element of all the Zodiac signs, this can lead to experimentation with drugs or even to alcoholism. Association with Moon (in this case if Jupiter is not a trinal lord, so neither would be the Moon) would make the affliction even worse. Overweight may also be a problem as well as diabetis, affliction of the liver etc common Jupiter diseases.

Hyporcrisy would also be in evidence.

A functional malefic Jupiter if further weakened by deibilitation or low Amsa Bala etc. would aggravate the above said weaknesses.

Jupiter is very weak for the following two ascendants unless there are other conditions intervening as it is ruling two Dusthanas :

Capricorn
Libra

Jupiter is also weak for the following ascendant as it is ruling an Uppachaya and a Dusthana :

Taurus

Hi

Next principle ...

Sun+Mercury gives a Budhaditya Yoga (a yoga of intellect). But bear in mind the combustion effects as well.

Earlier in the forum, I felt that this Yoga gives a person of a flighty disposition. But now I would say this is a good yoga and if other parts of the chart gives anchorage or stability in the person's makeup, this Yoga can be an asset. That is to say, it is better to have this Yoga even with the combustion effects of the Sun. Of course combustion will cause the Dasa and Mahadasa of Mercury to be not so good. But with a good intellect PLUS stability indicated in other areas of the chart, difficulties can be conquered and the person can go far.

Hi

From the above posts, you realise the Ascendant must have a proper mixture of the natural benefics Mercury, Venus and Jupiter (by placement or by dispositorship or by aspects (weakest)) but also the proper mixture of trinal lords (again by placement or by dispositorship or by aspects (weakest)).

Special combinations like Rahu in Cancer in Ascendant, lord of A9 aspecting Cancer or contacting Moon (which gives fortune since youth), Yogi planet aspecting Ascendant, Ascendant being the Yogi point, Pushya (an auspicious Nakshatra) and other any special combinations you can think of like planet in Ascendants have good Navamshas as underlying foundational/pillar support all would help.

Yogas involving the Ascendant would further boost the strength of the Ascendant. Even planets aspecting the Ascendant from the 7th Bhava must be in appropriate Nakshatra in the case for Saturn as indicated by Mr. Deepak in his post on The Nakshatras also comes in.

Dusthana lords should be kept out of the Ascendant unless they are trinal lords.

Hi

Next principle .....

Don't estimate the Bhavat Bhavam principle as applied to analysis of each generation using the Pluto's placement in sign. They can give you a lot of insights.

Examples :

Pluto in Leo (Generation X) are smart - because 5th (Leo) is the 9th of the 9th and 5th is the 3rd of the 3rd. The 3rd-9th axis is the mental axis. So that's why they are smart.

Pluto in Gemini (K N Rao's generation) are good in making their money grow - because 3rd (Gemini) is the 2nd of the 2nd and 3rd is the 8th of the 8th. So that is why they are good in making their money grow.

Pluto in Libra (Generation Z) has affinity of being close to their family besides their mate. They are also into having a good career and retiring successfully - because 7th (Libra) is the 4th of the 4th and 7th is the 10th of the 10th.

Aside from this all the past generations are very attached to their family or family members based on the Bhavat Bhavam concept (and other concepts actually as well) as applied to Pluto in the respective sign positions for each generation.

Pluto in Gemini - 3rd (Gemini) being the 2nd of the 2nd, they put in their effort to maintain their family members.

Pluto in Cancer - 4th (Cancer) denotes family. 4th is also the 3rd to the 2nd so effort put in for the family members.

Pluto in Leo - 5th (Leo) being the 3rd to the 2nd so effort put in for the family members.

Pluto in Virgo - 6th (Virgo) is the 3rd to the 4th so effort put in for the family. 5th to the 2nd so they put their family members in good stead ie. more security, more money in the future as they work hard.

Pluto in Libra - 7th (Libra) being the 4th to the 4th means also very attached to the family.

Pluto in Scorpio - 8th (Scorpio) being the 5th to the 4th means also putting their family (4th) in good stead ie. more security, more money in the future as they work hard.

Pluto in Sagittarius - the babies that are born now - has break the cycle of the attachment and care which past generations have given to their families or family members.

hello,

Joining late in this discussion Shashi & Khoo.

I have Taurus ascendant with Venus going in 6th house. Saturn is deb. in 12 th House. All I have received are enemies and a lot of them and very powerful ones too.. Professionally ,life is a disaster. My first Dasha in life was Saturn which was the best- Raj-yoga giver. Later life could not match that. But, it gave me a taste of what raj yoga felt like- so I could not get satisfied by mediocrity later. So, in a way , Khoo, you are right, maybe more aggrieved than reality.

I think Shashi, for Taurus ascendants- it is the dasha which determines the course of life. The planetary configuration being so difficult. Natural benefices are functional malefics & vice versa, life will always be difficult.

The givers are miserly though the cruel ones do not give outright disasters; just constantly knock you down.

I think my good life is due to my husband having good planetary configuration, so I kind of sponge off of him.

For Taureans, saturn is a badhakesh, having 3 aspects. If retrograde, 3 more aspects. Badha at every turn.

Khoo,

Your explanation between sun & saturn was marvelous.

Hi

Next principle ......

Jupiter even if low in Amsa Bala, but if it is in its own sign in Navamsa, it is powerful. Navamsa is Jupiter's chart as the main house is the 9th house for Navamsa even though Venus is the main planet for Navamsa (this is one of the paradoxes in Vedic Astrology).

Jupiter's well placed in its own sign in Navamsa had beeb mentioned by classics as a strength.

Hi astro123

Venus is considered the main planet for Nakshatra because most of us marry and not single. When we marry, the fortune for oursevles that is dependent on the father (9th Bhava) transfers to that of the mate and it is the 7th Bhava.

Venus then becomes the main significator rather than the father. In the Navamsha, we use it to find out the nature of our spouse in Hindi Astrology rather than the father. We normally use the charakaraka, the sthira karaka or the Naisargika karaka for delineations of the father instead. The Sthira karaka is useful for the timing of death of various near relatives.

This concept also shows how important the 11th to a karya house is (7th Bava is the 11th to the 9th Bhava and the latter is the karya house for the Navamsa). After the Ascendant, Navamsha, the Moon, the Sun, the 11th to a house (or the Ascendant if you are talking about the main 11th house in a Rasi chart) is an important house to consider for taking as an Ascendant point.

Hi

Regarding Mercury's intellect Yoga, note that anything less than 5 degrees mercury is in high combustion and the bad effects of Mercury's dasa/antardasa may swamp whatever advantages that accrue to this Yoga. Anything within a Navamsaha and Mercury is seriously combusted.

But if Mercury is less than 1 degree from the Sun, it is called Ciasmi in Tropical Astrology. Like I said in a parable, this means the prince has got the confidence of the king, and his knowledge of the affairs of the country is second to none, even the king.
