teardrop is also the symbol for Ardra right? looks like some symbols overlap.
yes, actually i always related Ardra to teaderop because literaley Arda means the MOIST ONE.
Also, deity of Ardra is Rudra, lord of storms and god of destruction, that brings with it rain and tears of sorrow.

Kandhan ji & JL,

Yup, teardrop is the symbol of Ardra, I made a mistake. The other lesser knowm symbol of Mula is 'the tail of a lion'. Mula can take a person to the heights of success but only after hard struggle and severe obstructions. There is also a very real possibility of crashing after the pinnacle is achieved. Only malefics do well in Mula. Benefics land in serious hot water in this nakshatra. Whatever the other traits, if lagna or moon is in Mula it gives a person absolutely single minded determination. Bad thing is that the person usually stops at nothing - unless Saturn aspects.

Mula and Ardra make the doggie pair as they form the female and male of the dog yonis. But this dog is more like a seriously unhappy Rottweiler rather than a cuddly Spitz.

there is a belief in South that Chandra in mula is not good for mother-in-law(as i remember it).

let me narrate a true story:
my uncle(mother's brother) is Mula Rashi. his marriage was getting delayed due to this. so what my grandfather did in one case was he fudged the birth data :| . a match was found. on the day before the wedding the bride's(my aunt) family took him to the temple for offering prayers as per tradition. In temples of South the priests asks the name and nakshtra of the devotee(is it called sankalpa?). my uncle blurted out truth by force of habit. so there was some hullabaloo. but it was too late in the day. six months after marriage his M-I-L passed away. of course she had been bed-ridden for two years even before the marriage. but poor Mr.Mula had to take the blame. :D

Kandan ji , I can tell you one dictum . Girls born in Moola sometimes act like a "Girgit" ( Girgit is the Hindi name for the animal which changes its colour - a chamaeleon ) . What they hold sacrosanct today is trash tomorrow . And all other factors being equal , They have issues with relationships and marriages . I have seen quite a few such Girgits in my life . :P . I Think Swamy Cool Ji would also endorse me .

Kandhan ji,

I don't think Mula has been exceptionally bad for for your mama ji. Except maybe, for a few round of gaalis from your maami. 8) But pardon my levity, no offence.

you maybe right swamycoolji. actually my mamma and maami are what one can call an ideal couple. :D

nowadays he has quit his job , entered business and since then he is prospering. surely there are other factors involved. this was predicted accurately by an astrologer of my hometown. in fact this astrologer had done so many accurate predictions for our families. he had his unique method of astrology+numerology etc. i heard that he taught his son his secrets before passing away. been trying to get hold of his son but without luck. :)

I think this phenomenon of Mula can be explained a little differently. Mula is certainly not fickle. Like the deep roots of a tree they have an iron determination and a bulldog tenacity for whatever goals they pursue. But the problem is, they are unfeeling and ruthless. So as long as something or someone is in tune with their goals and expectations, they are super nice. But once this person wavers even a little bit from the groove or circumstances are changed so that this person or any other entity no longer harmonises with the goal, Mula would discard it ruthlessly and won't look back. And like the nature of Ketu, these changes take place suddenly and not gradually. Mula is attached to an objective and not to the means to achieve it. That makes them look like chameleons. But they are not fickle, they rarely change their objectives, if ever.

Kandhan ji,

After you pry out these secrets, we sure hope that you would share some of them in the forum. :D

Wonderfully summarised Coolant ji. I know a few moola natives and they act very similarly to your analysis. You have gone into their psyche for your perfect analysis. However, if you look at them from the outside their act appears like what Deepak says - chameleons.

Good explaination Swamy Cool Ji , Actually Mula came to be called so because it was originally thought to be the first astrism and was called the Root . mula also means "the first or the beginning or the origin ."

Having said that, the fact still remains that they can change their colours when ever they think that their goals have a impediment .

you have put it across very well ,

So as long as something or someone is in tune with their goals and expectations, they are super nice. But once this person wavers even a little bit from the groove or circumstances are changed so that this person or any other entity no longer harmonises with the goal, Mula would discard it ruthlessly and won't look back. [/i]

The key here lies with the way the person thinks . The flaw is in their thought process . Chandra in the nakshatra of Ketu , specially this Nakshatra cannot do well, and when aspected by a malefic , the moon turns evil , when in this Nakshatra . They are ruthless like you rightly said . Fickle they are not . That is for sure . They goals are flawed , their thinking is flawed , and their actions are flawed . No doubt about it .

Good explaination Swamy cool ji ,

Thank you ,

Best regard's
deepak .

Astroboy,
Chandra in the nakshatra of Ketu , specially this Nakshatra cannot do well, and when aspected by a malefic , the moon turns evil , when in this Nakshatra .
Sun or Moon in the nakshatras of Rahu or Ketu always creates a Grahan Yoga, there will be some untoward ramifications, even if aspected by benefics.

vhb ji,
Could you please tell me what happens when Rahu or Ketu is in nakshatras of Sun or Moon?
The effects are the same - Grahan Yoga. But may be a little less in intensity. I'm not entirely sure about that.

Through the horoscope, the map of your life, you can determine certain times in your life when you have to slow down, when you can push yourself to great levels of creativity, and when you have to watch your health and related activities.
