Dear Sonu:

Sins and their punishments are described in Garuda Puran. Mortal logic does not work in these cases. A Sin is a sin. Big or small. It has to be either erased by remedies OR be reaped in future births. Even if no other sins are left. Killing an ant can cause a new birth.

If killing an ant is itself a sin, then I am sure all of us would have to worry what we would have to reap for what we have sown since everyone would have done more than just killing an ant. It is really threatening. I heard that Garuda Purana is not available in the net or anywhere but only in the form of text. Is there a list explaining the punishments for each type of sins. In case, we can calculate what punishment we have not got for sins committed in this janma and what punishment we got but do not know what it is due to(back calculation).
If someone in the forum can do a scan of the page showing this, that would be great. It is because of so many restrictions on that, some say one is not allowed to have this book in his house, it is not good at all. So net is the only way out.

You said only Brahmins can attain moksha. A shudra who is good will be born as a Brahmin and then attain Moksha maybe. Here is what I think:

Guna based caste system alone holds that castes are not equal. Only a Brahmin can study Vedas and gain moksha. It has to be noted that Brahmin means Guna based Brahmin and not birth based Brahmin. By working in the chosen profession a Sudra should become a Vaisya, a vaisya should become a Kshatria, a Kshatria should become Brahmin and finally attain Moksha. This is the intention of Vedas.

Thus if a Brahmin (birth based) becomes a politician and works for the welfare of the country he is Kshatria by profession. Instead of working for the county if he takes bribe and accumulates personal wealth, he is Vaisya by profession. If he does not do any work except raising the hands in the parliament in tune with the high command of the party then he is a Sudra by Guna.

Thanking you,

It will get scary once all the members here start believing scriptures. As I mentioned before, for one who does not believe in Vedic system, no information will make sense. :)

Mr. Astrosonu,

Yes I would think a brahmin can still attain Moksha without chanting Gayatri Mantri whethere it is a must or not. A christian can still attain Moksha without going for sunday mass, A muslim can still attain Moksha without keeping the Ramadaan fast, provided your heart is pure. Take for example, take Mother Theresa, she came out of her establishment and established something else to serve the poor and the needy. Even the Vatican gave her permission to start her own order. A soul like her needs to be born again as a brahmin? I am coming back to the same point again and again as you have ducked the question. While you have clearly stated Only Brahmins attain Moksha.

Thanking you,

Dev ji .....sinse i dont see much hope for myself   ........i'll brace myself to holding the cow's tail and swing from it for my cursed soul....
Regarding Cow, I read somewhere, they themselves grant moksha. I read, unke punch ko pakdne par moksh prapti jarur hogi. Anyway it shows that they are powerful.

Dear Nidi,

Out of 100 questions, if I have to duck one question to uphold dharma, I am up for it. :) .

Secondly, if you did not understand how one becomes a brahmin and Shudra in different and umpteen posts, then I guess you have selectively chosen to read. But I have no issues with it if your thinking can grant moksha to a non brahmin. Let me repeat here, for the sake of all. A Non-brahmin can attain Moksha, only if the previous births as a brahmin he has cleared Moksha Sadhana. In the non-brahmin birth he is only reaping prarabdha, not moksha Sadhana. :)

Nidiji it does not matter to the world what you think, OR I mention in this forum. Only vedic injunctions count. And these clearly state the five points as brahmana sadhana that i have mentioned in my moksha posts earlier. :) Fortunately, I am on the vedic side of it ;) .

I am myself a brahmin by birth but i do not adhere to any theories or rules .... how am i evolved then...? Ofcourse my down slide is now assured but thats in the next life time... :
Abhijit,

Same here. I don't follow any rules or theories. I don't even wear the sacred thread--wore it for just one year. I don't even pray to God. My brother is an atheist, even though a brahmin! What will you say to that? We are evolved souls with eligibility for moksha even then?! I wonder. Unless, my favourite actress is the incarnation of Goddess, it is not possible.

Chant Shri Vishnu Sahasranama guys. It is Saturn+Moon in Virgo(yest & today ) and Rahu conjunct mercury in gochar. Intellect will be afflicted, discussions like these will crop up and vedic values will be downgraded by many :) Check your mercury in the chart.

Have a good day. Please allow me to have some time with myself now. Need to get some massage on my wrists for typing incessantly. :D

thanking you one and all. Apologies if any vishnu bhakta got hurt. :)

Dear Sonu:

Yes, I agree. Cows are very satvic and when I see their eyes, my anger is controlled, I feed them with some fruits and it reduced my short temper. That is why it is said, when u are amidst satvic souls, u become satvic and so on.

Mr. Astrosonu,

May Bhagwan Vishnu grant you the Wisdom to understand the scriptures as it should be understood. I have to go now. Will try and make time in the future.

Abhijit Muhurta:

You always seem to take the simplest route. Anyway make sure u are not kicked by the cow :D :D since u claim to be a cursed soul. So, make sure u hold the tail during Abhijit Muhurta   .
Anyway if killing of ant is a sin, everyone has sins more than that and we have no escapism route other than to succumb to pressures of destiny may be   . I started as an optimist and am slowly becoming a pessimist(during this post).

Astrosonu,

I can't say it was clear as it is too complex to understand what you have said, but then, I understood this that there is some logic in what you have said. I will go through it a couple more times to understand it. And I am sorry I wrote that you are not a brahmin. I thought I had read it in one of your posts.
Basab

Well, I hope so. And even if not, as long as I am seeing her as a goddess, it is fine. After all God is present in everyone's heart. He will understand that I am devoting myself to Him, who resides in her heart. :D

Dev..... thanks for the warning...i'll time the muhurtha  :D

and please dont be a pessimist.... if this is god's creation...then he has got everyone's best interest at heart...including yours... :D
He'll do whats best for you....have faith...take things in your stride and be happy :D
Basab

Dev,

I really think it is so that Goddess has taken avatara of favourite actress. I have detached myself from the world of maya and devoted myself totally to her. And I have taken the path of Bhakti Yoga to attain salvation. I will attain moska when she (goddess) gives me darshan. :D
Dev wrote:I agree with u but what if Goddess took avatara and took the form of your favourite actess, so as to slowly bring u into spirituality :D :D :D
Basab

Aseem,

She is my ishta devata. Can't tell her name.
Basab

Well, her name is not there in the list of ishta devatas in astrology because she has taken incarnation in the 20th century only and the theories on astorlogy were written long back.

Basab:

U are already having her darshan. She just has to come in ur dream :D :D and say she is none other than the Goddess but is acting just to see the people around and teach them a lesson(as an avatar).

Dev,

Darshan means when Goddess comes and stands in front of you in person. We all get darshan of Gods in temples, but it's only when God comes down from heaven and meets us in person, that is called darshan. I am yet to have darshan of my favourite actress. That will happen when I meet her in person.

Well, for me she is goddess, and I call her that because in my most difficult moments it's her who comes to my mind, and not God. It is said that when you are in tremendous misery, you remember God, even if you are an atheist, and as I remember her in my most miserable condition, it proves that she is Goddess. :)

But what I meant was she may just go to heaven and come from there. She can even give u darshan in ur dreams and u may awaken to see if she is really there, she may still be there and say, see Basab, I am convinced by your Bhakti but dont reveal that I am Goddess to anyone else.

Yeah, Aseem, I want to write a book on just one point: period of Venus in the 8th house in own sign: it found me Goddess in actress. :)
Basab

Dev,

Well, after so much discussion on her today, I won't be surprised if she comes to my dream today--and that too as Goddess. :D
