I have been asked by several members to Re write this Topic . I deleted the last Thread due to all the Mud slinging and the hateful comments that were directed towards me for no fault of mine . I request all the members to wait till I finish the thread , It's a long one as you all know . I welcome any discussion as long as it's healthy and does not attack me personally . Now the arguement about /against K.S.Y. Is that the yoga is not found in any classical text's of astrology , at least not in the 18 popular standard texts and thus is not a valid yoga . But can't we come up with a new combination ?? is that prohibited ?? Look at how the K.P. system ( Krishna Murthi Paddathi )founded by the great Krishna Murthi has come to the main stage . No one can say that the standard text's supported it. Yet it has become a tried and tested method for predictive astrology
Following is a sloka from a well known classical text Brighu sutram chapter 6 sloka 23-28
If the lord of the fourth house is strong the native will possess horses, palanquins and gold etc.
If I were to recite this sloka verbatim, and tell him that he will have horses , while the man is staying in a flat in Bangalore, my queriest would think that I have lost my mind. First of all we have to understand what the meaning of the word Yoga is . A yoga is basically a combination of two or more planet's or configuration placement of a planet, combination of a planet and a sign, combination of a planet or house, location of a planet in a particular sign or house and aspect's over it of any particular planet and so on, in a horoscope which can fetch good results. When a combination fetches bad results it is termed as a dosha.
Now there can be literally 100 new combinations one can come up with in a single horoscope. Any one can mint a new yoga if he want's to . But that combination and it's effect's must reoccur in different chart's to make a impact and to enter the main stream in astrology. There is there any harm in minting new yoga's as long as a particular effect can be proved to having occured due to that Yoga in another horoscope .

The meaning is quite clear. If Rahu is at front & Ketu is last while all other planets are in between, then this combination is called Kal Sarpa Yoga.
Late, Jyothishartathnam Sri K K Kurup (1906-1973) established the well known astrological institutionâ€Jyothisha Kalalayam†at Cherpu since 1937. ‘ he also edited the Malyalam magazine Jyotisha Masika, he gave some details on Kalasarpa yoga in one of his text’s

The yoga is of two kind’s Anuloma and the other Viloma
The anuloma type produces excellent results whereas the Viloma type produces undesirable results
In the anuloma type all planets move toward’s rahu . This is less likely to give trouble
The viloma type will give prosperity but will give trouble’s side by side .
He gives further rules for activation
If sun is in the 8th from Rahu or when rahu or ketu is in the 8th house from moon kalasarpa is activated
It is predominant when rahu or ketu is in the 6th 7th or 8th house from ascendant
If Rahu or ketu is in kendras the adverse effect of K.S.Y. is greater
When Rahu and Ketu are in trikona’s the good effects of K.S.Y. is predominant
Now no one know's where these sloka's appeared from. we will never know because "K.K.Kurup ji" is long dead and gone. Dr 'Robert Svoboda' think's this popped out from South Indian texts and treatises. It might be just the case . I have not seen any classical south indian text which describe this yoga. So I reserve my comment's . It seem's to me this yoga must have been coined say about 500-600 year's back but gained popularity in the past 250-300 year's max. I am not sure of this . It's pure guess work on my part.

Other astrologer's opinion's
A astrologer from Mangalore gave me a interpretation of Kala sarpa yoga . I quote " All planets must be helmed in between Rahu and Ketu ,ie, all the planets must be moving towards Rahu and Rahu should be in their path . 2. Kala sarpa will act only when the Lagna , Chandra and Ravi are in a Chara or a movable Rashi . If the planets are distributed equally amoungst the Rashi's then the effect gets worse. If the planets move towards Ketu then the yoga is infructuous, and in fact may help the indivdual financially , all things being equal." most importantly if any one planet or the lagna is outside the Rahu Ketu Axis then the Yoga is Infructuous.the number of parameter's introduced here narrows the K.S.Y. to a small number because the conditions set are too many . the fact that you need to have all three lagna's in a movable rashi , introduces a large permutation and combination by itself . then if Ketu meets the planet the Yoga is Void , but the best part is , even if one planet or the lagna is out of the axis , the yoga is void. these factors narrow things down considerably .

DR "Robert Svoboda's" Take on K.S.Y.
I quote , K.S.Y meaning (The serpent of time) is an admirable illustration of the many graha yoga’s which have been discovered off late. In K.S.Y. all planets should be between Rahu and Ketu. The nodes are shadow planets which causes an eclipse and thus will eclipse all the planets since they are inbetween them.
K.S.Y is not mentioned in any classical work on Jyotish and is probably tantric in origin, given the tantric fascination with shadows with time and serpents, demons and with the occult (All rules by Rahu and Ketu) KSY is described in Dravidian (South Indian) texts and treatises. But even here there is no consensus as to its effects. Some texts describe it as a major flaw while some say it bestows happiness and the goodwill of king’s.
There is not even consensus on its formation which is not surprising considering the confusion that is natural to the nodes. Some say Rahu bites with the head while some say Ketu stings with his tail. So kalasarpa can be formed either ways i.e. all planets heading towards Rahu or ketu. An approach which seems to be verified by experience
Two types of K.S.Y are thus distinguished 1. Anuloma – all planets moving towards Rahu (This type gives less trouble) and Viloma – all planets moving towards Ketu (Gives great prosperity but will give troubles side by side.)

2. Lagna has to be inside the axis
3. If one planet or lagna is out of the axis , K.S.Y. Stand's cancelled

Does he get night mares : Yes. A lot of them . rarely slept dreamless
Is he unhealthy and sick : Not in the least (except for Psoriasis )/ left leg pain

Is his marriage delayed : happy to remain unmarried . Free will .
Does he get married eventually : I have offer's but have turned them down .
Is his marriage a happy one : when I was with a woman . It was a great time.
Does he have children :Yes and No - I have 7 children , except that they are not in human form . I am happy to not have children in human form.

It has been said that If all planets move toward's Ketu ( Like mine does ) while being helmed between Rahu and Ketu then the Yoga is call a "Kala Amrita Yoga " . It is supposed to bestow good effect's on the Native ( I have my Doubt's and I do not subscribe to this . Kaala Amruta Yoga is a variation of the dreaded Kaala Sarpa Yoga. Whereas Kaala Sarpa Yoga gives rise to hardships, struggles and failures in life of the native, Kaala Amruta Yoga enhances the good luck of the native conferring upon him intelligence, wealth and fame. It is a real challenge for an astrologer to determine whether it is kaala sarpa yoga or kala Amruta yoga that is actually operating in a nativity. Unless we properly understand the principle behind Kaala Sarpa Yoga, Kaala Amruta Yoga can never be properly understood. So we shall first analyse the rationale behind Kaala Sarpa Yoga before discussing Kaala Amruta Yoga.
Though there is no mention of either Kaala Sarpa Yoga or Kaala Amruta Yoga in the classical works on astrology like "Brihat Jatakam, Satyachayeeyam, Jatakaabharanam, Jaataka Alangaram, Phaladeepika, etc .", there are allegorical references to these in Nadi Astrological works. The basic principle behind Kaala Sarpa Yoga is the well-known astrological canon that a house or planet prospers if the house of planet is hemmed in between benefics, and suffer if the planet or house is hemmed in between malefics. Naturally, when all the planets are hemmed in between malefics like Rahu and Ketu, the nativity is spoiled as a whole! This is the logic behind the dreaded Kaala Sarpa Yoga.
Some astrologers are of the opinion that kala Sarpa yoga arises only if all the planets are hemmed in between Raahu and Ketu (Check from Rahu to Ketu in a clockwise fashion in South-Indian style charts) and if all planets are hemmed in between Ketu and Raahu (check from Ketu to Rahu in clockwise fashion) Kaala Amruta Yoga arises which is highly beneficial. However, this view is not accepted by the notable astrologer Dr.B.V.Raman (of revered memory - a renown astrologer and the founder-editor of "The Astrological Magazine" who opines
that Kaala Sarpa Yoga arises irrespective of whether the planets are hemmed between Raahu and Ketu, or between Ketu and Raahu. Again, Dr.B.V.Raman is of the opinion that if the ascendant is on the other axis while all the planets are hemmed on one side of the axis, then the evil arising out of Kala Sarpa Yoga almost gets neutralised!

This writer also subscribes to Dr.B.V.Raman's view for the following reason: Rahu-Ketu axis indicates events in mundane life and Ketu - Rahu axis indicates spiritual matters. If all the 7 planets are concentrated on one side of the axis (i.e. between Rahu and Ketu, or Ketu and Rahu) the result will invariably be a lop-sided development of the individual which is not conductive for a healthy and normal worldly life. If all the planets are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu (the most commonly accepted version of Kaala Sarpa Yoga), the individual faces much hardship in his mundane life and when he attains success in life, he is so embittered that he becomes too materialistic or revolutionary in his attitudes. On the other hand, if all the planets are hemmed between Ketu and Rahu (which also gives rise to kala sarpa yoga though of a lesser intensity), the individual's life struggles urge him towards renunciation, impractical ideals and spirituality to the exclusion of the normal routines of mundane life. I was told in 2004 that I will be betrayed by the one I trusted the Most . That prediction came true 100 pct. The exact word's were, "You will be betrayed by the one who you are ready to give everything for. You will be stabbed in the back so well, You will never even know that you have been stabbed." when I visited that astrologer in 2007 the first thing he said to me when he saw me entering his compound was . "So it's happened " This is the power of local astrologer's .I asked him later how he figured it out . He said last time I saw you , You were a strapping man, well dressed, and looked healthy . It is clear that neither Kaala Sarpa Yoga nor kaala Amruta Yoga can make or mar the destiny of an individual on their own merit. But to say that K.S.Y/ K.A.Y is a defunct Yoga and does not give any effect would be rash and stupid at best . That the yoga exists and function's just like any other benefic or Malefic yoga is certain . It does not cancel the other Good or Bad Yoga's in the chart But will certainly give it's own effect's , For best or for worst. They contribute to the progress or detriment of a native in combination with other benefic/malefic aspects of a horoscope. Their presence in the horoscope guarantees single-minded determination to an astounding degree. So, if these individuals turn to mysticism, meditation or constructive research, they have the potential to scale great heights. Again, these persons must consciously strive for all-round development of their personality avoiding dogmatic views and over-fixation upon a single agenda in life if they are to be accepted by other's.

That leave's us with another horoscope which is being used to discuss K.S.Y. , Margret Thatcher . I do not have a accurate T.O.B. But if we are to believe the Net , Then her lagna is Tula, With a classic Kala Amrita Yoga . All the planet's are moving toward's Ketu .
If we are to accept the time as correct , Then the 4th and the 5th lord is exalted in the Lagna while the 9th lord Budha is placed in the lagna . What a beautiful Raja yoga that is . Wonderful . Just that one combination is enough to propel you foward. This goes to show that K.S.Y. does not cancel out the good Yoga's . It is clear from this chart that the Good yoga's worked well and propelled her to the top. I will post the details when I can confirm the Time with another source.
